The Tale of Hero Alice’s Social Death

Chapter 220: Andusia's Melancholy

Chapter 220: Andusia's Melancholy

Andusia didn't know anything more about the Demon King's Power.

After all was said and done, Andusia had merely played host to the Demon King's Power. While she might have known more about the Demon King's Power than Luna, she still wasn't particularly knowledgeable about it.

Fortunately, Alice had managed to verify that the Demon King's Power was a conscious existence. Moreover, this consciousness wouldn't disappear even after the Demon King's Power had lost all of its energy. Even after becoming an empty shell, the Demon King's Power would retain its consciousness and secretly encourage the Demon King to carry out certain actions.

There was also no doubt that the Demon King's Power's goal was to send the world into chaos so that it could destroy the world's laws and eventually erode the entire world.

How troublesome My stress levels go up whenever I think about how I am shouldering this world's fate

After waking up the next morning, Alice climbed out of bed, rubbed her sleepy eyes, and went to the bathroom to wash up. Then, while inwardly complaining about the responsibilities she had to shoulder, she walked to her desk, grabbed the figurine sleeping on her desk, and stuffed it into her bag.

Although Alice felt a lot of pressure, when she thought about how she was working to save an entire world, she quickly stopped complaining about all the work she needed to do.

"What are you doing?!" After being abruptly stuffed into Alice's bag, Andusia poked half of her body out of the bag and glared at Alice angrily. Then, in a dissatisfied tone, she complained, "Do you know how hard it is to fall asleep in this body?! Don't go disturbing me like that!"

Andusia often suffered from insomnia because of her current body. Her body was made of wood, so it didn't carry out any physiological activities. Her soul didn't require any sleep, either. These two factors combined meant that her mind didn't see any need for sleep. However, while going without sleep might not harm her in the slightest, she would always feel that something was missing from her life whenever she skipped out on sleep.

So, throughout the years Andusia had spent as a figurine, she had developed a resting method to replace sleep. She even started gaining the ability to experience dreams recently. Meanwhile, last night happened to be one of the nights where she managed to experience a dream. Yet, not long after she started dreaming, Alice had abruptly woken her up, so, of course, she would get angry.

"We're visiting the catkins today," Alice said softly. Zauna was still asleep, and she didn't have any classes this morning. So, Alice naturally wanted to let her friend get some proper rest. Meanwhile, after giving Andusia a brief explanation, Alice opened her wardrobe and began changing her clothes. "Negotiations with the dogkins seem to have concluded as well. So, once I finish studying the catkins' taboos, I'm thinking about heading straight for the dogkins' place."

Alice had already mentioned these matters to Andusia last night. Luna and Hatter had already finished negotiations with the catkins, and the catkins have already agreed to let Alice study their taboos.

Elodie had also concluded talks with the dogkins. Although Alice didn't know how Elodie had managed to convince the dogkins, it was a fact that the dogkins had agreed to let Alice use their chief totem. However, the dogkins only allowed Alice to approach their chief totem and nobody else. So, Alice decided to travel without Luna today.

Originally, Alice had planned to get Luna to prepare a magic crystal with her mana in it to use with the dogkins' chief totem. However, since Andusia had already become obedient yesterday, there wouldn't be a need to do so anymore. Andusia's mana would work just as well as Luna's mana as a medium to search for the Demon King's Power.

"Ah, right... You mentioned it yesterday..." Andusia mumbled as she recalled the conversation she had with Alice last night. "You're much crazier than all of the Heroes I know. I've never seen any Hero trying to get rid of the Demon King's Power directly."

Alice might not have explicitly stated that she was targeting the Demon King's Power, but her intentions were obvious based on their conversation last night. Alice also didn't bother hiding her intentions from Andusia. After all, Andusia's mana core was still within Alice's control. There was no way Andusia could escape out of Alice's palm.

"Nobody has ever bothered considering the Demon King's Power's origins. It's as if the Demon King's Power's existence is a part of this world, and getting rid of it is no different than trying to get rid of the concept of '1+1=2,'" Andusia said, narrowing her eyes as she looked at Alice. Then, she asked, "Are you sure you have a way to get rid of the Demon King's Power?"

Alice might be trying to get rid of the Demon King's Power, but the Demon King's Power was practically an illusory existence. Even until now, nobody had ever seen the Demon King's Power's physical manifestation. It was just like how nobody could see or touch the concept of "1+1=2." So, in Andusia's opinion, Alice's plan to get rid of the Demon King's Power was unbelievable.

"How would I know if I don't try?" Alice said while tying her hair with two panties. Then, under Andusia's perplexed gaze, Alice picked up her travel backpack and carried it on her back.

Unlike most people, Alice didn't think it was impossible to get rid of the Demon King's Power. After all, she had personally seen the Demon King's Power manifest as a black sphere. If the Demon King's Power was in that state, it should be possible to physically destroy it.

After ensuring that she had packed everything she needed, Alice quietly left the dorm. Originally, she had wanted to invite Zauna and Lalu on this trip. Unfortunately, the dogkins only allowed one person to visit them. So, Alice had no choice but to go alone.

As for Andusia, she was a figurine. It was unlikely that anyone would realize that she was an actual person.

"You're late!"

Ciel had been waiting downstairs of the dormitory for quite some time. When she saw Alice walking out of the dormitory, she promptly called out to Alice with a dissatisfied expression on her face.

"Didn't I tell you to come earlier?!"

The catkins thought that Ciel shared a good relationship with Alice, so they passed the responsibility of guiding Alice to their settlement to Ciel. As for Ciel, nobody but herself knew whether she was truly dissatisfied with this arrangement or she was just unable to speak truthfully.

"Yes, yes, yes. Sorry for being late," Alice said, smiling before sending a powerful smack at Ciel's buttocks.

Immediately, Ciel shuddered, and her mouth stopped speaking rudely. The cause of the blush on her face had also changed from anger to excitement.

At this time, Andusia had climbed out of Alice's backpack and sat on Alice's shoulder. Then, when she saw the shameless expression Ciel was making, she couldn't help but cover her face and shield her eyes. She did not wage war with the humans and liberate the beastkins from slavery a couple of thousand years ago to see this

Alice had also felt Andusia climbing onto her shoulder. However, Alice decided not to say anything about it, seeing as Andusia didn't do anything else and acted like nothing more than a decoration. Instead, she squeezed Ciel's black cat tail and smiled, saying, "Let's go. Take me to the catkins."

"O-Okay" Ciel responded in a coquettish tone.

Fortunately, they had agreed to meet at a sufficiently early hour. Otherwise, Ciel's behavior would have definitely been seen by others.
