The Sword Deity in Tokyo

Chapter 300: Kobayashi Village

Chapter 300: Kobayashi Village

Although Team X was just formed a few days ago, Kimura Kazuki had already set up some simple rules for it.

The rules were fairly simple. If the members were to encounter a specter and realized that he or she could not accomplish the obsessiveness of the specter alone, that member could seek help from the other members of the group. As for the reiki formed by the specter, it would be distributed based on the efforts and contributions accordingly.

The same rules applied for wraiths. The reiki would be distributed based on the contributions accordingly if one could not manage it on his or her own. Of course, the one who discovered the specter or wraith could gain more reiki as payment for obtaining the information.

Due to the incident of the Soul Summoning Pencil, a lot of monsters drawn were endowed with the ability to think and possessed consciousness. Only the Department of Mysteries and Kimura Kazuki knew that the monsters already escaped in all directions.

He realized that the Department of Mysteries did not divulge this news on the next few days. It was clear that they knew that they could absorb reiki by killing off those escaped monsters. Although it was their breach of responsibility to allow the monsters to escape in the first place, they could still improve their cultivation by perishing these monsters. Hence, those from the Department of Mysteries did not disclose the incident to the public.

Kimura Kazuki immediately shared about this incident and disclosed the message to the members in the group.

Therefore, Ikioi Ito and the others planned to search for the monsters throughout the country during summer break, in hopes that they could encounter some of them. Based on Kimura Kazuki’s words, the majority of the monsters were in the state between the first and second stage of sword power. It would be rare to have monsters of the third stage of sword power.

Monsters of the second stage of sword power were monsters they could be able to deal with. Of course, according to Kimura Kazuki, although these monsters were well-matched with them in terms of strength, some of them would rather utilize their uncanny abilities to harm humans instead of using their strengths. Therefore, one could not be too careful with his actions.

Kimura Kazuki picked up his cell phone to read the latest messages. Then, he scrolled through the chat to understand the current situation.

Ikioi Ito and his friends were very careful as they had never seen a monster before. Monsters were legendary living creatures after all. They went to a famous tourist attraction in Kyoto in a group of five.

The tourist attraction was located in a rural area known as Kobayashi Village.

Kobayashi Village became a famous tourist attraction in Kyoto due to its vegetation coverage, which was close to 100 percent.

Aside from the pavements, all of the houses in Kobayashi Village were tree houses. The villagers of Kobayashi Village stayed in tree houses, sat on wooden chairs and even their tableware was made of wood as if they were fairies in the modern world. Additionally, some wild animals were raised in Kobayashi Village. Tourists could feel the excitement of hunting them if they went to the village for a visit.

Kobayashi Village was one of the most popular attractions during summer. Due the wide vegetation coverage, the air was fresh and sunlight was covered by the trees. It would be comfortable to stay in the tree houses for a few days.

Ikioi Ito and his friends actually went to Kobayashi Village for a trip instead of looking for monsters.

Of course, they looked forward to encountering some monsters to absorb reiki but they did not seek for them intentionally. After all, they were treated as elites by their family. Although their resources were not inexhaustible, they were basically prioritized in their family, which explained why they did not have any sense of crisis. Of course, they would put out their best effort to prey upon monsters if they encounter one. After all, one could never get enough reiki.

During their third day in Kobayashi Village, someone was missing and it just happened that the missing person was staying in the same tree house hotel that Ikioi Ito and his friends were staying in. Furthermore, the missing person had been chatting with them. Daisuke Kojima and his friends had been staying at the hotel when Ikioi Ito and the others arrived at Kobayashi Village. They also came for a trip and they were all young. Daisuke Kojima was also an art student. He would sit outside and paint whenever he was free.

Ikioi Ito was a natural socializer, so he communicated with him naturally.

Based on Ikioi Ito and his friends’ words, the missing person was a painter named Daisuke Kojima. He was here for travel and to paint from nature. There were a total of seven people who came together excluding him. All of them were students from the same university.

It had been almost 24 hours since he went missing. The search and rescue team from Kobayashi Village could not find Daisuke Kojima so they were going to call the police.

Upon seeing these messages, Kimura Kazuki sent another message.

“Got it. I will get there with Harunaka as soon as possible.”

Chiba Shiori was unhappy when she saw the message.

Ikioi Ito: Gosh, Kimura-kun! You’ve finally appeared. I thought you were dead! @Tomoya Saito @Mizuki Sugawara Come on, tell him what you’ve found.

Tomoya Saito: I was too bored yesterday night so I went up the hill to check on the situation.

The location where Daisuke Kojima went missing was at the hillside. It was a desolate place but one could enjoy the full view of Kobayashi Village from there. It was a great place to have an overlook of the view.

Daisuke Kojima informed his friends that he was going off to paint. All of his friends were too busy to go with him so he went alone.

It was only later at night after they took their dinner, bathed, and prepared to sleep when they realized that Daisuke Kojima had not come back yet.

Amagasaki, the leader of their group wanted to call the police immediately but he was persuaded by the hotel owner not to. The chief of the village then organized a search and rescue team. However, there was still no news of Daisuke Kojima after one day.

After all, they got closer to Amagasaki and his friends. Furthermore, although they were there for travel, they also came for the monsters. Tomoya Saito was thinking whether it was done by monsters. He brought Mizuki Sugawara along to the hillside instead of going alone and they searched blindly in the night. Mizuki Sugawara did not find anything so he wanted to go back. However, Tomoya Saito disappeared in a blink of an eye.

Mizuki Sugawara: It was pitch black at the hillside in the middle of the night. I was freaking out! Fortunately, Saito appeared not even a minute later and pulled me straight before we ran.

Tomoya Saito: I must have encountered a monster at that time!

He was still suffering from shock when he was holding his cell phone while sending the message.

According to Tomoya Saito, he saw a person fleeing when he was searching around. After he chased after the person, it came to him suddenly that it was strange for someone to appear suddenly in the middle of the night like that. He felt chills and wanted to go back with Mizuki Sugawara. At the next moment, he saw a charming girl.

Tomoya Saito: I felt like I’ve lost my rationality for a moment when I saw that girl. I felt an urge of desire and I wanted to keep the girl company. I might also be missing now if I didn’t have the thing that was given by my grandfather.

Yayoi Momoi: It seemed like Amagasaki had made a police report just now.

Ikioi Ito: Of course! It’s been 24 hours. Amagasaki and his gang initially wanted to call the police first. If it was not for the chief of Kobayashi Village, the police might have come at an earlier time.

Furuhashi Harunaka: Are there any legends in Kobayashi Village? Perhaps this incident is related to their legend?

Harunaka was obviously affected by the incident in Sakagami Village.

While they were chatting in the group, Kimura Kazuki did not ponder deeply over it. It was obvious that something was wrong based on Tomoya Saito’s description.

Both Kimura Kazuki and Harunaka arrived at Kobayashi Village after three hours.

Ikioi Ito and his friends had been anxiously waiting for them since quite some time ago.
