The Supreme Level Up System

Chapter 114 It Can't Be Helped

"What do we know about this, Aion?" Artemisia asked with her arms crossed while showing a serious expression.

As soon as they heard about that, Aion and his mother jumped on the carriage and began to drive back to their territory. Things will be touched since both sides of the kingdom are being attacked, and Aion couldn't count on reinforcements. Most of the armies had already been mobilized to defend the eastern border.

"It seems that some army is attacking the mines territory," Aion said. "That guy who tried to get on his hands some of the territories I got is the lord there… but the spies of the king said that there are other armies on the move, so they might attack several points at the same time to prevent reinforcements."

Eventually, after the mines, the next target will be Aion's port since it was pretty further in the territory, and aside from some guards and the scarlets tigers, the place is pretty defenseless, he built some walls around it, but he expected that it would take a few years for such a place to be able to defend itself, he assumed that he would have to do most of the job regarding that.

"Is there someone particularly strong leading those armies? I heard that the soldiers of Rosberg kingdom become particularly troublesome when someone powerful is leading them," Artemisia said.

"I heard that as well… No one said anything about that, maybe they are playing the hands well in order to surprise us," Aion said. "From what I heard, the Rosberk kingdom has two warriors on the same level as Caelis. At least they looked to be on the same level, it is hard to say. One of them is an archer and another one is a swordsman…"

Aion stopped right there in order not to worry his mother since when he heard about them, Aion couldn't help but frown. The archer was someone that could take down enemies from a distance that they couldn't even see him and the swordsman had the title of the fastest warrior in the Rosberg kingdom. From Aion's perspective, they were supposed to be stronger than Caelis, but since they weren't as wild as him, people often thought that it wasn't the case.

Although the trip was supposed to be long and Aion couldn't make the horses run for too long, he hurried them to leave the capital as soon as possible. He had brought three ships to help with commerce, and he wouldn't risk losing them. Those were as expensive as hell…

Once they were far away enough from the capital, Aion created an earth platform and made the whole carriage and the horses fly. With all that weight, Aion could only make it fly for twenty minutes, perhaps twenty-five if he manages to keep his focus while using Meditation, but it will be hard.

"Don't look out of the windom, mom," Aion said. "Also, we are going to speed up a bit."

"You can do even this with your magic…" Artemisia said. "Are you planning to become an earth magic specialist?"

"No, I will make all of the elements as strong as possible," Aion replied. "I can't let some people think that I have such obvious weaknesses."

"I thought that you were being a bit careless recently, but I guess you are fine if you don't want to show to others that you can fly this fast…" Artemisia said. "Anyway, if we use our magic together, we can repel the small fries. The thing is how to deal with the big guns…"

"You shouldn't fight, mom," Aion said. "You don't want to fight for the kingdom that imprisoned you, right?"

"That isn't totally wrong, but…" Artemisia said.

"Besides, if you use your powers to wipe out an army, people will fear you again," Aion said.

"The same thing will happen to you," Artemisia said.

"I am the lord of that area and most people think that I am not worth following since I am only half Kresnik," Aion said. "So, fear is a weapon that I need to make others obey me… at least the people of this kingdom. For the time being, you shouldn't fight, but if things get dire, you can come and help."

"I suppose it can't be helped…" Artemisia said.

Aion tried to move as fast as possible, but he had to stop to rest several times. Around the end of the day, they had crossed half of the path, but Aion's head was hurting, so they stopped to rest for the night.

"A war, huh… it isn't like I didn't imagine that one would take place, but it was a lot sooner than expected," Aion thought.

For someone like Aion, whose previous job was to prevent disasters and save lives, participating in a war seemed like something insane, but he couldn't just ignore what was happening. He didn't want to lose his territory and his hard work of two years. That might be the revenge for what he had done to Caelis and his minions, but he couldn't care less about it. He will make a point out of those that try to invade his lands by killing as many of them as possible. There is no point in going easy with unreasonable retards.

Using the necromancer class was probably his best option until he found the leaders of the armies. Still, Aion had a feeling that he couldn't wait for that long, considering the fame of the archer and the swordsman. Defeating one of them and then using them to help in the battle as death knights seemed like the best way to win, but that would be too much to reveal his powers. Using the other two death knights would work better, and while they had gotten stronger, they couldn't use their main fighting style… in any case, Aion considered his options over the night and then he flew back to his town as soon as the sun rose.
