Chapter 641: 635: Premonition of Annihilation
Chapter 641: Chapter 635: Premonition of Annihilation
“`
The thunder on the Battle Platform gradually subsided, and a massive Thunder Beast covered with scars glared with its three vertical pupils, emitting a reluctant roar, filled with the image of the black crystal dragon ablaze with scarlet flames.
However, the depletion of its Arcane Force and the exhaustion from its body caused the Thunder Beast’s once rigid legs to suddenly buckle.
Accompanied by a loud booming sound, its enormous body, forged from natural metallic luster, fell forward, kicking up a strong gust of wind.
“A rather clean and decisive 3:7, contestant David Jones led his team to defeat Thundurus Academy with overwhelming power, one must admit, this is the terrifying dominance of a ‘King’ Trainer!”
“No doubt, as the hot favorite to win this tournament, the strength of Rosewood College is unquestionable. Peony Colledge, if it wants to continue its nine straight championships and go even further this year, must figure out how to defeat contestant David Jones!”
“…”
After the match, the audience exiting through the crowds complained that the match was over too quickly, so much so that they hadn’t even managed to eat a few bites of their popcorn, and some even discussed how the Rosewood College team was not fighting fair.
Indeed, for this competition, the Flowery Kingdom’s Big Five’s teams didn’t even bother to send out their lead captains, and without any effort, they effortlessly rolled over all their opponents.
Only Rosewood College, breaking away from the usual style of the Five Greats, sent out the captain early to deliver a bloody massacre to the audience.
“The captain was so ruthless, directly turning Mordreth Thunder’s face blue with just one battle!” Jedbrook Harvey remarked.
“It’s because we’re too extravagant!”
Hearing this, Jackson Grant glanced at the beaming team coach beside him and couldn’t help but give a bitter smile.
It was like the opponent only had a three, and we came out with a trump card; no one could withstand that kind of play, to the point where he didn’t even get a chance to show his face in the arena.
“Captain, after the match, should we have a celebratory meal together?” Sanne suggested.
The Gluttonous Beast’s eyes lit up, and its stomach made a “gurgle!” sound, making David Jones unable to help but laugh and pat its head.
“If you’re hungry, just say so, don’t play random recordings from the internet!”
“Yip!” (Yes, yes, I want the Ice-Fire feast!)
Rainbow raised its dragon claws, already starting to order food before reaching the restaurant.
“It’s been a long time.” A crisp voice sounded.
David Jones looked towards the source of the voice and saw a gender-ambiguous figure in a white shirt, leaning against a light pole and waving at Richard Goodwin.
“Girlfriend?” Sanne teased with a mischievous smile on her face.
Scanning past the Adam’s apple of the newcomer, David Jones warned, “Don’t talk nonsense!”
Richard Goodwin spoke wearily, “Let me introduce him, this is my brother, Reade Pauline from Glazewater College.”
“Brother???”
Sanne’s mouth hung open slightly, in disbelief.
She couldn’t believe that the person in front of her, more beautiful than herself, was actually a man. How could other women even compete?
Seeing that Sanne hadn’t come back to her senses, Margaret Yule apologized for her friend while her gaze involuntarily traveled up and down Reade Pauline’s shirt and jeans.
“It’s fine, I’m used to it.”
Reade Pauline simply shook his head, looking curiously at the person in front of him whom everyone recognized as a once-in-a-millennium talent, wondering what he wanted with him.
…
At the dinner table, David Jones saw the Rossetti Lindwood he hadn’t encountered for a while.
She wore a white dress that showcased her figure to the fullest, looking extremely sexy yet the trace of melancholy on her face gave her an incomparably pure aura, not at all like someone capable of tearing a tiger or a bull with her bare hands.
David Jones raised an eyebrow and looked at Margaret Yule, “Did you dress her up?”
“`
“How about it, pretty good, right?” She smiled and nodded.
The moment David Jones saw her, Rossetti Lindwood, who had been keeping her psychic tension tight, felt a sigh of relief inside her heart and couldn’t help but sit next to him and wrap her arm around his.
“We should go, it’s very dangerous here!” the words of Rossetti Lindwood, tinted with worry, echoed in David Jones’ mind.
David Jones was slightly taken aback and began to multitask; on one hand, he negotiated with Reade Pauline about the matter of the Nine-Purity Spring Water, while on the other, he conveyed his inner doubts through the Holy Oath.
“What danger?”
“I have a bad premonition, this place will be destroyed before long!” Rossetti Lindwood bit her lip, a sudden intuition that had developed that evening.
David Jones, who was in the middle of drinking, stalled in his actions, raising Reade Pauline’s curiosity.
What could possibly shock this terrifying man so deeply?
“Are you sure? Rosewood City is currently hosting the national competition, and just the Legends, meaning the Venerable class powerhouses, are well over a dozen in number. Unless the Immortal descends, nobody can destroy Rosewood City in front of so many strong individuals!” David Jones started to panic.
With the Holy Oath in place, he didn’t believe Rossetti Lindwood would deceive him.
“Not sure,” Rossetti Lindwood hesitated.
She knew how terrible the Venerable class was, which is why she was planning to have David Jones drop out of the competition.
The King may be strong, but it depends on the comparison!
The mere aftermath of a battle from a Legend was enough to ruthlessly annihilate any King caught in its wake.
“Let me think for a moment,” David Jones glanced at the Star Ring around his finger, feeling this matter to be increasingly peculiar.
As the night grew deeper, David Jones finally wrapped up the resource exchange negotiations with Reade Pauline and got what he wanted.
The Nine-Purity Spring Water, being one of the rare top-grade spirit waters in the world, naturally attracted all the Beast Control Powers within the Flowery Kingdom to want a share.
Even though Glazewater College was one of the Flowery Kingdom’s Big Five, revered across the country since the Neolithic Period as a sacred land for Trainers, every ten years it still had to bow to the Trainer Guild headquarters, offering a bottle of Nine-Purity Spring Water.
In a situation where monks outnumbered porridge, Trainers without strong backgrounds and power couldn’t even dream of buying it, let alone laying eyes on it.
Of course, Reade Pauline’s status was not sufficient to access the Nine-Purity Spring Water, let alone distribute it—no matter that he was the great-grandson of the president of Glazewater.
The spirit liquid David Jones negotiated with him for was actually a derivative of the Nine-Purity Spring Water, the Level VII Epic resource “Soul Refining Liquid.”
Even so, David Jones could only get his hands on three bottles of Soul Refining Liquid, at the cost of two fewer bottles of Thousand-year Stalactites.
It couldn’t be helped, the cultivation of the Seven Rites Bodhi Tree was far too important, relating not only to Rainbow’s perfect Evolution but also to whether David Jones could comfortably make his breakthrough to Legend in the future.
Despite David Jones always complaining about the Seven Rites Bodhi Tree’s overly protracted growth period, saying that by the time the Bodhi Tree bore fruit, he would already become an Epic and even a Legend powerhouse,
Which Trainer wouldn’t hope to have a Seven Rites Bodhi Tree protecting them when making their breakthrough to Legend, if given the chance?
Happily saying farewell to his teammates and business partners, David Jones took Rossetti Lindwood back to his villa.
“How do you feel?”
When Loona ended the casting of Primordial End and opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was David Jones’s worried face.
“Meaa.” (I didn’t see anything, the future is pitch black.)
Loona scratched its head; this time its foresight was very unstable, as though it had been interfered with by some unknown presence.
After a moment of hesitation, David Jones picked up his phone and made a call to Principal Easton.
There was no helping it, if he couldn’t solve it himself, then it was time to hand the matter over to someone who could!
