Chapter 461: A Joyous Occasion!
.....
"Don't be so nervous, daughter of mine. After all, this is a joyous occasion for our family!" Margarete spoke with an unusually wide smile on her face.
"..."
Marina was a little bit taken aback by her mother's sudden effervescence; she raised an eyebrow and asked, "What happened?"
"Well, my daughter. I think I just found an extremely powerful backer that should be able to assist me with you and your daughters' marriages!"
Listening to her mother speak, Marina felt like this dialogue was eerily similar to something she had said herself.
And this suspicion only further bubbled up inside her heart before she was unable to suppress it anymore and asked, "Who is it?"
Marina already had a hint as to who it might be, but she still felt the need to ask.
And just as she expected, Margarete flashed a brilliant smile before saying, "It's the man who came from beyond the stars!"
Marina became silent after this response, as she just knew it would end up going like this.
Azmond's looking to go after my mother as well, isn't he?
At this notion, she felt a tinge of jealousy in her heart, and for some reason, there was something constricting her insides.
She didn't like that feeling one single bit!
And it looked like her mother noticed this as well, as a little bit of perplexion flashed past her pretty eyes before she asked, "Do you know the man from beyond the stars as well?"
Marina thought about how to respond to her overly perceptive mother before she eventually gave in and replied, "You could say that I know his disciple a little."
"Really-?" Margarete was about to ask a to ask a question with a doubtful tone, but she was abruptly interrupted by Esra, saying:
"I thought you said that you didn't know him, mother, teehee~" She mischievously giggled, one of her dainty hands covering her toothy grin.
"..." "..."
Both Marina and Margarete looked in the direction of the devious expression on Esra's face before Margarete shot her suspicious gaze toward her daughter.
"What is she talking about?" Margarete inquired with one of her brows raised.
Marina glared at her trouble-making daughter for a second before she replied, "I don't know what that silly daughter of mine is implying, but I simply didn't wish to tie ourselves to anyone related to that man until we knew that it would be a good thing."
Margarete was still a little doubtful over her daughter's words, but in the end, she discarded the matter before mentioning something else.
"So whatever happened to that 'husband' of Aqua's? Didn't you storm out a while back, going out to kill him?"
"Mom! You said you were merely going to talk with him when we are on the phone!" Aqua interjected in the conversation with an aggrieved look on her face.
"Oh?" Nadia mused with an extremely interested glint in her eyes.
She, along with everyone else, had heard tales of this 'husband' of Aqua's; however, she took it as nothing more than a joke when she was informed of this in the Celestial Academy.
But now, it looked like there was more to this 'Azmond' character than a mere fairytale that her baby sister made up to cure her loneliness
-
"Well, my beloved Aqua, I didn't tell you of this because I didn't wish to make you hate me more But I had to do it for us You must understand," Marina explained herself with a mildly remorseful tone.
However, it looked like her daughter was having none of it, as her cheeks became akin to that of a hamster's as she shouted, "Humph! No excuses, mother! I hate you!"
*Spurt!*
The busty Milf practically died right then and there from the amount of emotional damage that she just received from her daughter's words.
"Y-You surely don't mean that" She despondently mumbled.
"Yes, I do! You're the worst mother!" Aqua retorted.
*Spurt! Spurt!*
THUD!
Marina fell off her seat, as she felt like balling her eyes out right about now.
However, when she saw the judging gleam in her mother's eyes, she knew this was no time to show any weaknesses, so she stood up before speaking once more:
"But, my dear, it wasn't like I really killed him. He's still perfectly alive and healthy!"
"Really!?" Aqua exclaimed.
"Then, where is he right now!?" She asked with an expectant gaze.
Looking at the expectation oozing out of her daughter's expression, Marina knew that this was the only chance she would get to mend her relationship with her baby girl.
So in the end, she sighed a little before saying, "Azmond is currently somewhere in this kingdom. In fact, Azure and Sapphire had already greeted him."
"What!?" Aqua shouted before turning her vicious gaze in the direction of the two anxious maids standing behind her seat.
"W-Well, you see" Sapphire attempted to speak, but she was swiftly interrupted by Aqua, saying:
"No excuses! You didn't even bother to tell me that my husband was already in the kingdom!"
"B-But, my lady, we were planning to tell you; however, we felt that the time wasn't right-"
"Nope, I'm not going to buy your excuses so easily! This betrayal of my trust means no more royal snacks for the next two months!" Aqua interjected with a non-negotiable tone.
"!!!" "!!!"
Sapphire and Azure were devastated over this information, as they felt like they were being treated extremely unjustly!
They really were planning to tell their lady of the news concerning Azmond's arrival in the capital; however, he had sent them a voice transmission, telling them not to tell Aqua yet.
But it looks like all the waiting they did for that cheeky man all went to waste when their Queen was attempting to pass Aqua's focus onto someone else!
They looked at the slightly apologetic gleam in their Queen's eyes and immediately knew that they had been used as bait to distract Aqua from the matter revolving around Marina's relations with the 'disciple of the man beyond the stars'.
However, it looked like there would be yet another change in focus, as Margarete was still waiting for her daughter to answer her question on the fate of that 'husband' of Aqua's.
