Chapter 2846 Complicated Situation With the Council
While Minos' family was taking advantage of Segiel, the Elders of the guild had finally found out about the arrival of Minos' envoys.
They were already aware that the Armhands' post in Uzira had high-level Supremes, but they were in the dark about the exact strength of the group sent by Minos.
Segiel had been informed by the Armhands' post in Uzira about the group coming to Oqia, but it was only when the members of the guild in the city where Leger's group arrived docked on the mainland that she learned exactly the strength of those sent.
Minos had sent a group of peak Supremes to Oqia, a force strong enough to single-handedly take over the guild and usher in a new era of that force! n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
She had realized the implications of this and given Kendrick and his family time to prepare, but she couldn't hide the truth forever. After a few days of holding back the news, she finally announced to the council about the arrival of the group led by Leger, exposing the formidable formation of that group coming from Uzira.
"So many high level Supremes?" muttered the current Tenth Elder of the guild, the former Commander before Segiel took over that position.
The Tenth Elder was currently at level 119, much stronger than when he was ruling the guild at the time when Minos served as an outer and inner member.
Segiel's master, currently at level 121, closed her eyes, ignoring her companions in silence or muttering things amongst themselves.
Minos was an asset to the guild. No one would deny that. They themselves wouldn't deny it. Having high-level Supremes was another good thing for the guild, which could elevate them to higher levels when they reached Uzira. But would high-level Supremes obey them, the guild or Minos?
They were all experienced and understood the implications of the force sent by Minos.
It had always been a concern of this council that Minos would one day use his power over the black liquid—through Abby—to start a rebellion and take control of the group. Now they faced the moment they had dreaded, finding themselves at a crossroads.
There were several paths ahead of them. Not getting involved and waiting for what would happen. Act and prevent Minos from rebelling. To ally with him and support him in doing what he wanted, or any number of other scenarios that varied from these three main possibilities.
"How far has Minos come?" one of the Elders asked in a deep tone, remembering how only a few decades ago the alien boy was just a talent for the distant future.
"Really... Controlling high-level Supremes isn't for everyone... Is he already as strong as a Celestial?" wondered the strongest person there at the moment, level 123, the old Elder Navey, who had been watching Minos for a long time.
"It seems that must be the case," a level 122 Elder murmured, his gaze a mixture of curiosity but also excitement.
"I want to be able to talk to him about his journey in Uzira one day. But for now, we should take advantage of his efforts and get on with our plans. It's time to organize who among us will migrate and who will stay in Oqia," Navey said, clenching his fists, drawing Segiel's attention.
Segiel naturally knew about Navey's long-standing interest in Minos. Seeing him mention this meeting, she couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable.
'It might be interesting to get Elder Navey away from the rest of Minos' family. She thought before suggesting. 'The Elder should take the first of the vacancies. Someone of his stature will be able to do more for the guild in Uzira while the Supreme Leader doesn't awaken from his seclusion."
The Supreme Leader of Armhands had been in seclusion since he said goodbye to Minos, challenging level 124. There was no date for the end of his seclusion and no one there would disturb him at this critical moment because of the news coming from Uzira.
The Elders looked at Navey, thinking about the implications of what Segiel had suggested, but also about the figure of the Supreme Leader and the situation with Minos.
"Perhaps we should discuss the position of the Supreme Leader and Minos before we talk about going back and forth between the continents." Quoted a level 120 Elder, her long eyelashes, and feminine lips not so beautiful now. "In particular, we need to consider the Stuart Family and its faction."
"What is there to consider?" Klaus asked. "Minos is the Commander of the Armhands in Uzira. He can be promoted to Elder or remain in command. That changes nothing, least of all in relation to his family."
"Not everyone thinks like that and we don't know what his children might want for him. Commander Minos is formidable and has never caused any problems for the guild. But his family members are another story. Some of them are ambitious and want to expand their influence," said the Sixth Elder cautiously.
"Who is the Elder talking about?" Segiel's mistress opened her eyes, not knowing of anyone like that among the people of Minos.
"Who else but Kendrick Stuart? That boy advances wherever he goes with ferocity and blood in his eyes. He's already defeated several guild mates in the name of his Stuart Family," said the same Elder.
Kendrick was even more decisive than his father when it came to matters involving his family in Zocarro. Since assuming the position of family and faction leader, he had placed himself in the position of the ultimate defender of his house.
Segiel narrowed her eyes as she looked at that Elder, seeing Navey's main follower putting himself in that dangerous position.
She then said, "I advise we end this meeting here. I believe that some of us have differing opinions and may not want to be in this conversation."
Segiel's mistress, Klaus and the other two Elders rose from their seats, while the others remained seated, looking at the Commander with curious eyes.
"A Commander cannot end the meeting of the Council of Elders, Commander," reminded Navey.
"No, but she can leave together with the Elders who want to. Only the Supreme Leader can stop us, but he's not here." Segiel retorted to the surprise of Navey's supporters.
