Chapter 305 - Perception
Rid ran after his father. He couldn't let the monster get close to their house and hurt his family. But, they were too far away.
The monster shattered the floor of the house in one blow and quickly ran after Rid's fleeing mother.
"No!" Rid's father shouted, but that didn't stop the monster.
It tore the woman's flesh apart and, a few seconds later, did the same to Rid's older sister. His father was desperate but still tried to fight and get revenge.
They had a sword in their house with which he armed himself and sharply plunged the blade of the blade deep into the monster's flesh.
"Father!" Shouted Rid as he watched the monster break the sword with its mouth and then kill Rid's father.
It was an absolute nightmare that happened for real. No one expected something like this to happen.
Rid didn't know what to do. The monster was strolling toward him and had no intention of stopping. Rid's gaze fell upon the remains of his family, and all his strength was gone in an instant. He had no more reason to fight and live in this world. He couldn't imagine himself without his family. They were the only thing in this world that was precious to him.
Whoooosh.
When the monster reached Rid, he swung his paw and cut off Rid's arm with his sharp claws. He tried to run away, but the monster wasn't about to let him go. It dug its claws into his leg and dragged him back. The monster decided to play with its last victim.
When Rid's body was scarred, and he was near death, he muttered quietly, "Damn, if only I could change things..."
The monster swung his paw and was about to kill Rid, but suddenly a creepy voice sent shivers down the monster's body and caused him to experience true terror.
"You, no, I can." Smirking, Rid said, gradually transforming into Evan.
"This body is no stronger than that of a mere human, but this world belongs to me," Evan said coldly, and in the blink of an eye, his wounds and limbs healed.
His cloak appeared on him, and his aura became so intimidating that the monster couldn't even move. But Evan wasn't going to deal with the monster himself. Considering he was comparable to a god in this world, there were more interesting ways.
Evan extended his arm toward it and then lowered it as if giving a signal for the archers. The monster didn't realize what was happening, but then a massive shadow fell over it. The monster shot up into the sky and saw a meteorite hurtling towards him. It was big enough to destroy an entire mountain with its fall.
The meteorite came crashing down on the monster, destroying most of the space. The house, the trees, the garden, and the lake were all destroyed. Such a meteorite fall could have caused a real cataclysm or even an apocalypse. It was an incomparable power that was almost impossible to achieve.
Evan was in charge in this world, so an entire planet fell on the monster after the meteorite. He watched this destruction being protected by a simple barrier that he himself created with the power of his mind.
Snap.
Evan snapped his fingers, and everything was back to normal. The day began again, but Rid was gone. Evan headed for the lake.
He took a long look at the changing water and the fruit on the trees before muttering, "This world is crazy..."
Evan picked an apple from the tree, but then it changed to a watermelon. Evan shook his head and turned the big berry into a fruit again.
"No, it's not madness. It's chaos, ever-changing, uncontrollable, and unpredictable chaos. That's what's hidden inside of me." Proclaimed Evan and took a bite of the green, sour apple.
Evan had been wondering what kind of energy he was emitting during Splash for a long time, and now he figured it out. But, it didn't make the situation any easier.
"Through this ordeal, I realized that my power, or element as it is commonly called, is chaos. But, chaos is uncontrollable and unpredictable. This power can create, destroy and change. Chaos stands far above the abilities of the gods, but to subdue chaos sounds like madness. I don't have the faintest idea how to learn how to use this power." Mumbled Evan exchanging an apple for a bar of chocolate.
In this world he could do whatever he wanted, but it was a big illusion, one powerful spell chaining him in a special space. It wasn't the real world, where he couldn't create an entire planet with a simple wave of his hand.
"Okay, time to get out of here." Mumbled Evan, and the world began to collapse.
He came into this space through a door, so Evan was going to get out of here in the same way. Gradually there was nothing left of the world but a vast emptiness. Evan was about to create a door, but suddenly black and white flames appeared before him.
These flames turned into the demon and angel he had met before. But, this time, they were in no mood to talk. They stared fiercely at Evan and were about to attack him.
"You dare disregard our kindness and refuse our offers like an ungrateful dog. You are nothing but a wretched man and must die." They said at the same time.
Evan snorted and stretched his arms forward with his palms open.
"You're nothing but a bunch of clowns. Don't you dare get on my nerves, get lost." Evan said coldly and clenched his hands into a fist.
The next moment the demon and angel were trapped in a spatial cube. That cube gradually shrunk until it just crushed them and turned them into a cube of meat. The demon and angel tried to resist, but it was impossible.
<Okay, I need to create a door and get out of here.> Evan thought, but suddenly dozens of the same angels and demons appeared around him. All at once, they attacked Evan.
...
As Evan passed his test, Hugo read a book. Each contestant went through the trial for a different amount of time, so he didn't know how long it would last. But, most of the time, the participant needed at least an hour.
But, just ten minutes after Evan lowered himself into the dark pool, Hugo saw dozens of magic circles over the water begin to collapse.
"That fast? What kind of power lurks in it....".
