Chapter 283 - The Man And The Monster
"Is that Evan Lynch?" Sara was surprised. But, what shocked her wasn't that Evan was up against them, but how strong he had become.
"Wasn't this boy just recently a rookie mage? How did he reach - Two-Pointed Star stage? That's crazy!" Gritting her teeth, Sara said.
She was the most experienced here and had already fought Evan's kind several times in her life. Such mages who could progress at an insane rate were not even geniuses. There was no word to describe their talent. Compared to them, geniuses were mere humans. Sara knew this better than anyone, as she herself was a genius who had once been humiliated by a similar magician.
"You said I was alone, but I have to say you're a little wrong." Said Evan, and the next moment a large, three-eyed purple raven appeared beside him.
Evan's spatial ring glowed, and Magma Blood appeared in his hand. Evan's eye turned to gold, and several streaks appeared on his scythe as the darkness slowly covered his weapon. Next, Evan cast "Ghost Step" and sprinkled his blood on the black chains of his armor, activating Berserk Mode.
Evan used all the power he could muster and attacked a group of light mages. Evan moved with incredible speed, like a bolt of scarlet lightning. He cut through his opponents' armor with ease, and his Magma Blood blade gradually heated up. The members of Tears of Light tried to attack Evan with their spells, but he easily dodged them.
Moreover, he was backed up by Reykar, who fought three mages simultaneously and even won. He was a very dangerous opponent for any second rank creature.
"Shit! Why the fuck is he so strong?" muttered one of the members of the Tear of Light and cast several spells in a row.
Many magical circles appeared on the ground from which a variety of creatures emerged. Some of them were weak, and some of them could fight some of the mages on the stage - Two-Pointed Star - on an equal footing.
Evan smirked, and his Warp spun. The next moment a fan of energy appeared in the sky. Evan swung his hand, and dozens of explosive feathers rained down on the summoned creatures. After the Awareness of Death Feathers Fan rose to the second stage, there were many more feathers and a more massive explosion.
In just a few swings, Evan destroyed most of the summoned creatures, he thought he had already dealt with them, but there were other Summoners among this group of mages.
They all started summoning large numbers of creatures at the same time. Evan tried to fight back, but at one point, too many attacks came at him.
He had to go on the defensive for a while, all he could do was wave his scythe and defend himself. At that moment, he felt as if he was fighting alone against an entire army.
<In those situations, Summoners are truly formidable opponents. They don't even try to save mana. They use every spell they know.> Evan thought.
Among the sixteen light mages, there were about 7 Summoners, which was quite a lot. Normally, Summoners should be about a third of the total number of mages in a group.
Moreover, Evan had to fend off several Amplifiers who attacked him furiously. Evan even missed a few blows. But fortunately for him, he was not fighting alone now.
At Sara's command, only one mage was left to restrain Reykar. When Raven realized that Evan was gradually being pinned against the wall, he decided to activate his ability, which he had gained after a special evolution.
Crackle.
He pressed his wings against it, and a loud crackling of bones echoed throughout the room. Gradually the wings began to increase in size, and the outside part glowed brightly.
As Reykar spread his wings apart, several people felt fear stiffen their hearts.
Whoooosh.
Reykar began to sharply flap his wings, thus creating a terrifying purple tornado. This wind could cut into pieces even the strongest creatures of the second rank, this tornado would destroy everything here.
In one second, all the summoned creatures were swallowed up and destroyed by the fierce wind. This tornado was more like a million blades than a sucking stream of wind. It sliced through the summoned creatures and destroyed them instantly.
The light mages didn't know what to do, Creators tried to stop the tornado with their spells, but they failed.
At that moment, Sara's loud voice was heard, "Everyone to me! Now!"
The ring on her hand glowed with a bright, yellow light, and a large amount of golden energy appeared in front of her.
As all the light mages ran up to Sara, the golden energy quickly transformed into a large, round shield with the sun's image on it. It was a protective spell of Amplification Magic - "Shield of the Sun."
Furthermore, everyone behind this shield felt themselves getting better, and the many wounds they had received in the battle with Evan began to heal quickly.
Bam.
The Reykar tornado was not capable of destroying this shield. It lacked power. The tornado continued spinning furiously, but not even a few cracks appeared on the golden shield.
"Hey, Reykar, use your most powerful attack. We're going to burn the hell out of them." Said Evan.
He quickly drank two potions, one of which restored his blood supply and the other restored his wounds.
During the battle, Magma Blood had already heated to a fever pitch. The entire blade was covered in crimson blood, and the high temperature made the blood boil. The blade was so hot that the air burned, and space was distorted.
Now Evan was using the 5-star weapon skill for the first time. He was finally able to heat the blade to the right temperature.
Evan poured in some mana, and the Magma Blood blade ignited. But, with each second, the bright flame grew darker and denser. In time, the scythe blade began to look like it was covered by a thick layer of magma bubbling in the bowels of the planet.
At this time, Reykar had already finished his preparations. A huge amount of energy gathered at its beak and turned into a purple sphere the size of a large boulder.
Evan gave the signal, after which he swung the scythe twice, forming one X-shaped magma blade in the air.
Then Reykar shot a deadly beam toward the golden shield as well.
