Chapter 11 - Primordial Nine Needles
Howard was overjoyed. "Thank you, Doctor Cross! I shall never forget your kindness!"
"You're too polite, Elder Zander. I'm of humble talent and don't deserve to be called a doctor, so please just call me Mr. Cross or Augustus."
Howard was ashamed of his words.
His medical skills were not even half of Augustus's, but he had been called the best doctor for many years.
"Mr. Cross, please get in the car."
Howard said and personally opened the car door for Augustus.
"No need. This place isn't far from Maplewood Villa, so I can just ride the bike there. Also, I still need a set of Primordial Nine Needles which won't be easy to buy. I hope that Elder Zander can help me find one."
"Primordial Nine Needles?"
Howard was stunned.
As everyone knew, the needles used in acupuncture today were all new and improved by recent technology.
However, according to the rumors, the needles used in the past were all made by a legendary figure called Fuxi. They were also known as the Primordial Nine Needles!
Those were recorded in the [Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor] and the [Imperial Reader], but due to the gaps between knowledge that was passed down, there were very few people now who had even heard of the Primordial Nine Needles, much less know how to use them.
Howard once again concluded that Augustus's medical skills were well beyond that of ordinary people!
Later, Augustus left on the bike while Howard had someone drive him around the city to look for the Primordial Nine Needles.
However, only after he set off did he realize something.
He had never met Augustus before, so how did Augustus know he lived in Maplewood Villa?
Twenty minutes later, Augustus arrived at the gate of Maplewood Villa on his bike.
Looking at the large gate in front of him, he felt some regret in his heart.
Yesterday, he came here to ask for Howard's help, but today, Howard came to him for help instead. Fate was really unpredictable.
After parking the bike, Augustus waited for Howard by the side of the road.
Augustus did not want to cause any trouble, but unfortunately, trouble came to him instead.
Not long after Augustus stood there, the security chief from yesterday came up to him.
"Why are you here again? Didn't you have enough after getting beaten up and urinated on yesterday? Are you here to embarrass yourself again? Hahaha…"
Augustus was very unhappy. The man's ruthless look was still fresh in his mind, and he did not expect the guard to mock him again today.
"I'm waiting for someone here. Is that any of your business?"
The security chief sneered. "Waiting for someone? Do you know what this place is? This is the most upscale villa residence in Halmont City. Are you qualified to know the people here? Cut the crap already. If you dare to show up in front of me again, don't blame me for being impolite!"
After yesterday's incident, the security chief clearly felt that Augustus was a weak and easy-to-bully person, so his attitude was horrible.
However, just as he spoke, he heard a furious rebuke. "Who the hell do you think you are? How dare you be disrespectful to Mr. Cross!"
"D-Doctor Zander?"
The security chief watched in fear as Howard arrived in his car.
Howard was furious. He pointed at the security guard and yelled again. "I'm asking you a question. Who do you think you are? How dare you be disrespectful to Mr. Cross?!"
"No, Doctor Zander, he… He's just a poor loser. Yesterday, Young Master Zander even…"
"Who gave you the confidence to act like such a snob? I'm telling you, Mr. Cross is my esteemed guest. Whoever dares to disrespect him is my enemy!"
The guard was stunned.
What was going on? Yesterday, Augustus came here to beg for Doctor Zander's help, but today, he suddenly became Doctor Zander's esteemed guest?
Howard pointed to the guard and said, "As for you, I was the one who saved the life of your President Lake. I'll tell him that snobs like you aren't worthy to continue working here!"
Then, Howard opened the door personally and respectfully invited Augustus to get in the car.
Looking at the Audi driving away, the guard slumped to the ground as if he had lost everything.
At that moment, his insides twisted in regret!
In the luxurious villa, Jace lay feebly on the sickbed.
Jace's face was pale as he coughed incessantly. He looked completely different from yesterday.
Since yesterday's diagnosis, Jace's psyche had completely collapsed. All he could think about was that he was about to die.
"Dad, Mom, you have to save me. I'm still young. I don't want to die, sob sob sob…"
Jace cried with snot and tears, looking very pitiful.
In front of the bed, his mother and father looked bitter.
They only had one son, but now he was terminally ill. This was simply a disaster for them.
The mother, Joceline Faber, wiped her tears and said comfortingly, "Jace, don't worry. Your grandfather has found a doctor. He'll definitely have a way to cure your illness!"
"Really? But isn't Grandfather the best doctor in Halmont? When he can't do anything, what can others do?"
"What do you know? There are always people who are better in the world. Just because your grandfather can't cure you doesn't mean other people can't too. In any case, just rest assured. The Zander family has a lot of money, so there's no need to worry about not being able to cure your illness!"
That being said, Derrick Zander still felt a little uneasy.
He really did not know if there was anyone in Halmont City whose medical skills were superior to Howard.
At that moment, there was a loud noise outside the door, and Howard walked into the room in three strides.
"Grandpa, why are you so late? If you'd been any later, I'd have died already!"
Jace cried and whined.
"How could you say that? You're my only grandson. How could I let you die? Don't worry, I've already called a master here. He'll definitely be able to save you! Let me introduce to you, this is the doctor I called here, Mr. Cross!"
Jace looked over with anticipation only to be completely stunned when he saw the figure that appeared in front of him.
"Augustus Cross!"
Augustus looked at Jace and his lips curled in a smirk. "How the tables have turned, right?"
