The Devil's Sweetheart

Right when he remembered the man, Devin immediately called Leah's number and asked her to meet alone without alerting Leena.

"You are acting too secretive. What's_"

Her words thwarted again when she heard cries from the room. Leah wished she could become brave enough to kill the scared cats together for creating a ruckus in her room. Since the power breaks down, both were freaking out in fear and it increased each passing second as if they have seen some ghosts.

"Did something happen to her?" Devin asked with worry.

"These two are a pain in the ass Vincy! Just because there is a power cut, both are flipping out, and even the power back up has issues adding salt to my wounds." She said, pulling her hair in frustration.

Her words ringed an alarm bell in his brain.

"Fuck! Leena is hell scared of ghosts. I completely forgot."

Devin ended the call asking Leah to meet at the maple groves and dialed Austin's number to revamp the power supply.

In Leah's room! A little before the power supply went in...

"Aren't you scared?" Leena initiated when the silence was killing her. It's been a while since the electricity went out and even Leah walked out locking the door leaving her with a scared cat alone.

"Scared? I am shitting bricks here. Every sound I hear feels like a ghost." Drew cried struggling to maintain his precarious position. He switched on his mobile flashlight but terror gripped his heart when he saw a reflection of someone on his phone.

"C_an you feel it?" Leena asked gripping the bedspread.

"W_hat?" Did she also see the reflection? Was it a ghost?

"I feel that someone is hugging from behind."

"I_I don't feel it." He denied touching his back.

"You can't feel it. But still, they are here hugging you. That is why it's called ghost hug." Leena gulped and turn to his side to check his reaction. She was terrified to see Drew's face as white as a ghost with the flashlight put on his face.

Why did she have to scare the already scared me? Drew wailed internally.

"You know a fact about ghosts Andrew? It's not only a hug. They could be humping you right now but you would never know it. It might be moving without your knowledge."

"Ewww...Yuck! Dirty girl. Your mind is dirtied totally." Drew hit her on the head for coming up with such a fact. He has not even heard of ghosts fucking someone but this crazy girl has already imagined it.

"Mad fellow. Don't touch my precious hair." Leena gently brushed her hair with fingers. My mind is dirty? Then what about his? Wasn't he roasting his broomstick into Jaspee in the broad daylight? He is the dirtiest creature in the world.

"Aren't you the one doing_"

"Sister, can you walk me to the bathroom? Due to the distress, the chemical messengers carried signals from my brain to the gut and now my gut has responded to these signals with physical symptoms."

"Why don't we put it this way! Your loose motions are refusing to put on your pants?" Leena commented.

"Hey! It's not loose motions. It's just my stress taking a toll on my digestive system since I am scared of ghosts."

"Digestive system my foot! Aren't you a famous attorney! But still scared of ghosts! I will pass the message to your whole law firm and_

Before she could finish her sentence, the lights turned up. Both squealed in celebration forgetting their fights instantly.

"What's wrong with you? You are acting weird since I called asking for skincare products. Are you not even willing to share your sweetheart's products with anyone now?" Leah teased walking into the maple grooves. It's the place where Devin asked her to meet secretly which was unusual for him and to her surprise, he asked not to inform anyone in the house.

"Did you ask someone to check the AC condition in all the rooms?" Devin cut to the point. He remembered when he interrogated the man, he got to know that it was Leah who has sent him to the room.

"Oh right! I called a technician. Wendy demanded. She is facing issues with the air conditioning. So I asked a technician to check on it."

How could a branded new AC go haywire suddenly? He got to know from aunt Daisy that everything was replaced with the new electronic devices right before the guests arrived so that they shouldn't find any disturbances. What are the odds that it could get ruin within five days of staying? He would have skimmed the thought if it was any other day but right now he is finding it's a deliberate attempt. His suspicion was increasing on her strongly. Was it a lie? Or it was ruined?

"Who is Wendy?" Devin asked, he felt the name was familiar but still unsure. He doesn't even remember the faces here much less a name.

"Wendy! Wendy Hamburger! The one who pesters Leena. You might have seen her right? She always walks around the house slurping a lollipop."

"How is her relationship with Leena other than her annoying behavior?"

"She is one comic girl, Vincy! She was giving a hard time with Leena. But my darling would torture her hundred times_"

"Never call her darling. She is mine." His fury sprang to life when he listened to her addressing.

What a possessive man! Leah gaped.

They are not even in speaking terms. Yet he is acting overly greedy.

"And one more thing. Don't reveal our conversation with anyone especially my sweetheart and that blabbermouth Drew. Forget everything here." If a person in the house has a hand on it, it could alert them if a word goes out and that blabbermouth would circle it to the entire world by tomorrow if he knows it.

"Did something happen? You look tensed. I can help you."

"Don't worry! I will sort it out and don't let Leena step out of her room until I give a cue. Please do me the favour."

Leah nodded her head. She didn't understand what sort of problem Devin is facing but she could only support him whatever he asked to. She wished he would at least explain it to Austin or Jasper.

Devin walked out of the maple groves and directly strolled into the room.

Wendy Hamburger! Is she the one! No!

Devin had a hunch that there are more people involved in it.

Devin called a number and asked him to check up on the servant who was following him since he began staying in the house. He can not rule out any suspicious person right now.

Was it a plan to trap both? Both are celebrities after all.
