The Black Necromancer

Chapter 418 Incarnate

"My loyal servant... I have been watching." A deep, cruel voice whispered in Garessa's mind as the will of the Chaos God she served descended upon her body. Her black hair whipped around madly in the wind that was stirred up by Leon and Alvar's fights, but her expression made it seem as if she was laying in a pool of cool water.

Crackle!

The sky turned dark and depressing as dark clouds appeared from nowhere. The fight between Leon and Alvar came to a sudden stop as they felt another powerful presence descend. This one was much more vast and grand than theirs, which gave them the illusion that a mountain was pressing down on their minds.

Both of them stopped their fight and turned to look at Garessa. The Necromancer's body had begun to twist and warp as it released a vile and potent unholy aura. All the beings that relied on Unholy energy that were currently on the battlefield immediately gained a comprehensive boost that brought the destructiveness of their clashes to a completely different level.

Alvar's expression twisted as he realized that he had been played by Garessa and her backer. His eyes turned vengeful, but there was little he could do against the incarnation of a powerful Chaos God.

"Leon Cromwell! Our meeting has been long overdue!" The being that had taken over Garessa's body declared, even though her body was still being twisted and transformed into a greater mass of flesh without stop.

"Who are you?!" Leon asked hesitantly. He felt a great deal of threat from whoever this being was, and he had a good idea on the identity of this new entrant.

"My name is not important for a mortal like yourself. You may have grasped some of the fundamentals of the workings of this world, but you know nothing!" The God declared as he rounded up the transformation. Garessa's petite figure turned into a hulking seven-meter-tall giant that looked down on everything that walked the surface of the earth. Even the Giants that numbered so little and kept to themselves in secluded corners of the world did not act so arrogantly.

Leon's confidence instantly wavered when he heard the words of the newly descended incarnation. Those words were enough to confirm his suspicions that he was up against a God this time.

'I'm not prepared! How did Michael deal with this constant pressure in the Era of Gods?!' His mind was racing as he thought of how to go about this matter. Subconsciously, his gaze shifted to Alvar. The Elven Emperor was stronger than himself. Perhaps if they joined hands, they might be able to match or at least stall this incarnation.

Of course, Alvar noticed Leon's not so discreet gaze. A wide, vicious grin spread over his face as he realized Leon's dilemma. This Chaos God incarnate had come solely for Leon, which mean that it had little to do with him.

"Haha! Fool! I hope you get what is coming to you!" Without wasting any more time, Alvar vanished with a flash of golden light, leaving Leon to handle it by himself.

'Of course, he ran away.' Nedra commented snidely. 'I guess it's just me and you, just like the old days.' She said with a hint of nostalgia in her tone. In recent times, with many more people around Leon, they had been spending less and less time together even though they were connected by their spirits.

'Just like the old days, huh?' Leon chuckled and looked around. His summons were just beginning to gain the upper hand against Garessa's summons. He could not count on them for the time being and could only rely on Nedra's assistance.

"You want me, huh? Alright, let's do this!" Leon's voice was like thunder as he let out everything he could. The mana and Divinity in his core burned up like fuel in direct contact with flames, making his strength skyrocket in a short amount of time.

Bzzt!

The space around Leon shattered into shards that struggled to be merged back together by the Laws that held together the world. With one move, Leon had appeared before the Chaos God's incarnation, his fist cocked back and a wicked black flame burning around his clenched fist. A strong aura of decay permeated around Leon as he appeared.

BOOM!

His fist cracked forward and an explosion of immense proportions that blew away all the surrounding rocks, trees, and whatnot that had not yet been destroyed in the earlier battle. The shockwave that was generated by the attack was so powerful that it disrupted the battles between the various A ranks spread across the battlefield.

At the center of the cloud of dust, Leon gritted his teeth as he felt sharp sensations crawl up his bones and stab into his core.

"Using a Decay skill against a Chaos God? Pure foolishness!" The confident voice of the Chaos God sounded, and with his words, a strong force forcibly cleared away all the dust that hung in the air, revealing him unharmed behind a strong translucent red shield. "Let me show you true decay! WITHER!!!"

A black pulse of divine energy pulsed of his chest and spread out, passing through Leon's body. Instantly, he felt as if a huge amount of vitality was leaving his body, but his inherent resistance to such debuffs granted him a decent defense, while his own Divinity helped to defend against the remnant energy that lingered in his bones and core.

The same could not be said about everyone else, though. The wave of decay energy continued to spread for a long distance, passing through a large number of surviving rebel and defending soldiers. Not even the summons of both Leon and Garessa were spared from the whole thing.

"Crap!" Leon grunted as he struggled to keep everything afloat. He could not let his army collapse in its entirety or else everything would go to shit at once. He let his weaker summons return to the Abyss of the Undead while expending more mana to sustain the stronger and more elite ones.
