The Alpha's Return

Chapter 77 - Trying To Kill Him

"Okay...", Lucas took a few steps back.

"What are your intentions, apostle of Apophis? Do you wish to have my support or not?", Fenrir spoke, trying to pacify the situation a little.

"Of course I wish to have your support. But that support is being hindered by the presence of this human. I shall help you relieve yourself from his presence.", she said as she took a few steps back. She moved right and towards her desk.

On her desk, there was a telephone. She took the phone and started dialing.

"Are we just going to let her do that?", Lucas asked.

"No, but you are not the one who is moving.", Fenrir replied.

"That is because I am being stopped by you. Your tension is causing my legs to tighten up. I can't even move them.", Lucas said seriously.

"Oh, I didn't realize.", Fenrir said.

Over on the Marquess' side, a conversation went by like lightning.

She dialed the number, and after a few seconds, the other person picked up. Lucas could not move, but he could hear what was happening.

"Yes, Marquess?", a man's voice came from the other side.

"Is it ready yet?", the Marquess asked coldly.

"Yes, Marquess. The synthesis is complete. You can command him and he shall arrive at any time that you wish for him to come.", the man said.

"Good work, Dr. Marianno. This better work out. If this cannot even defeat a mortal, then your work here is pointless.", the marquess said coldly.

"Ye-yes, Marquess. This shall work. I have put in all my life's work into this project.", the man behind the phone said, stuttering with fear.

"You know, you are talking about killing me, and I am right here. How are you so confident that it isn't going to be the other way around?", Lucas spoke.

The Marquess looked up towards Lucas.

"What is a mere werewolf going to do to me? You are just a mortal, for all intents and purposes, and without the power of the red wolf within you, you are a placeholder.", she laughed.

"It's a good thing then, that I still have Fenrir on my side.", Lucas grinned as he moved.

His body became a blur, and it reached the Marquess almost instantaneously. He punched forward towards the marquess.

She tilted her head back, and she twisted her hands. The area that Lucas was aiming to punch became a little distorted. Lucas quickly rescinded his arm, and he used the desk as a propellor to move away from her.

"You are able to control the chaos much better than I thought that you would.", Fenrir said.

"Look at this, My Lord. You are a missionary of destruction, yet because of this human, you cannot live to your full potential. This is just a disgrace. I shall make sure that this blemish is cleared.", the marquess said.

"Oh my god, we really are dealing with a nut case, aren't we.", Lucas murmured.

"Don't speak in the middle of a fight. Years of being the strongest in the room by miles has made you complacent.", Fenrir said.

Lucas nodded as he got up in a hurry. He looked at the Marquess coldly. Slowly, his blue eyes that were glowing in this darkness started changing color. They became a blood red, like the day when he was betrayed by Peter.

His body also had a few changes. Instead of transforming into a white werewolf, he was changing and molting into something much, much different. His clothes started tearing, and he was changing form.

By the minute, he was growing a little larger, and his back was getting hunched. Slowly, fur started appearing on his face, his arms, and his legs. His muscles were now in prominent display. His feet were no longer men's feet. They were that of a wolf's.

"It has been years since I have taken this form. Not years, actually. Decades. And everytime I was forced to take this form, just the amount of blood lust that I had as a consequence was enough to dip me into the ninth level of hell a thousand times. You are really lucky, being one of the few in the world to face me at one of my stronger forms.", Lucas said.

"That is a true pity. I really wanted to see a showcase of the Lord's power myself. But this fight is not mine. It is an experiment of sorts, and I have more than just you to deal with.", the marquess said as she retreated.

"You are kidding me right. She threatened to kill me, but now she is running away?", Lucas was puzzled.

All of a sudden, the door of the room opened all of a sudden. Lucas heard the light foot steps of someone running quickly. He quickly raised his hands in a cross to defend himself.

Bam!

Lucas was thrust into the wall behind him, by the sheer force of the punch that someone delivered. Lucas got out of the wall, and he got onto all fours. Now, he looked like a true wolf, and not even a werewolf.

"Who is it that disturbed this king's fight?", Fenrir's voice came out as a growl.

"He is your vessel's doom, My Lord. He shall be entertaining you this time around.", the Marquess laughed.

"Get her.", Fenrir shouted in Lucas' eardrums. But Lucas already knew. He was quickly rushing after the marquess' figure, but then, another appeared where Lucas once stood.

Lucas ground to a halt.

"That thing, doesn't have a heart beat. But it isn't a vampire.", he said.

"Why did you stop!", Fenrir bellowed.

"Because the damned thing is actually powerful.", Lucas retorted.

Ahead of them all, the Marquess showed her teeth one more time, and her silhouette disappeared.

"And now, we lost her.", Fenrir said.
