Temporal Pearls

Chapter 190: Script Compass

"Hey, guys. Sorry for what happened. I was pressed due to the quest time limit that made me agitated" Seth said to clear misconception.

"It's alright, I'm at fault too!" Zambia said and they talked for a moment before Seth left. He generously gave him a crystal and walked away.

There was another group with blue cloaks at one side and one of them said, "It's him. The player that captured the fire dragon!"

When he was far, Seth called upon the little cub to speed him back home. He passed by the second crater and found it filled with various high-level Crodo, those that seem to not care about the sun much.

Reaching the forest Seth found the crystal's hill has reduced but not by much. He had an idea that it was the forest that consumed some of it. He packed the rest to his fake town and slumped on the couch.

"Hmm, that seems underwhelming at first!" Seth said as he helped the rusty and fragile rudimentary device. He then poured aura into it and the thing absorbed and hardened further. Even its rusty surface seemed to have become smooth.

After checking more, Seth realized he can't give it EXP. He sighed, he has some things that need exp and he has no way of giving them that. One of which was his attire and Clear Stone. He stored the compass away and closed his eyes.

What happened was crazy, to think that the uneasiness he had been feeling was him facing the damned moon all along. Regardless, the dangerous revelation was that his body was possessed and it even conversed with his mother and his sister, and that gave him the most dread.

He forced himself not to think that much or he might devolve into madness due to despair. He looked at the pillar tattoo and the moon sitting on his right hand and he looked at the moonlight and sighed.

He then brought his staff ingot. It was the metal that first hatched from the egg on the first day he was in the game. He poured aura into it and swallowed it like a black hole. But it didn't change.

He was not discouraged as he could feel that he was recovering slowly. He then brought the womb out and checked the terrified dragons and seeing that the moon wasn't around they relaxed and coiled to sleep.

Seth didn't know what to do now, he wanted to log out but he felt that he needed something before he did that. And he really wants to listen to his intuition.

"What should I do to be free?" Seth thought, but he felt like it was not just the damn class quest. He pulled his shirt off and looked at his Stone will. It was the thing that he needed to upgrade.

After reading that, Seth sighed, he now has to wait for Zambia and his group to finish their fights before he meets with them. He had already agreed on a rendezvous point with them as he had shown his interest in how they got up here.

But thinking in that way, he felt that he forgot something, but what. Lately, ever since he was on the class quest he has been having this sudden intuitive feeling of one thing and another without really knowing what. It was actually more confusing than aiding. He then decided to bring out Aura Tome to read the new development but then he had a strange thought, he brought out his compass.

The script compass pointer was rotating and when Seth focused on it with a certain place in mind the pointer slowed down and pointed at a certain location.

He felt as if the place was the location of his quest. Dark Void Sanctuary. The place where he will evolve his stone will. "Ash sanctuary!" He muttered, at one point in time, Seth overheard one of the players snickering about who would dare to that Void Sanctuary.

With no staff, Seth dreaded going there but nevertheless, he decided to. Hopefully, there will be no danger. With that intention, he prepared and set on his journey, only after he was kilometres away from the forest did he remember he didn't even check his status.

"Damn it. I'm paranoid. As if I'm not a veteran." He still didn't go back to the forest, he felt that he needed to go to the sanctuary now, not later.

The sun was hot but his mind was elsewhere. This was the path where he found Temra, the fire dragon valley and fought her. Now that he thought about it he was really lucky to have faced her during the night, if it was during this hot weather, he won't even be able to get close to her.

He walked for what seemed hours but the sun seemed not to have moved, he checked the Script Compass from time to time, to make sure he was on the right track. He was!

When he was no longer seeing Living Root forest, the compass vibrated and another pointer appeared that showed exactly where the forest was. Not only that, he can feel the forest but what surprised him was that he felt as if it had beasts and animals now.

There were also fights between crodo, blood crodo and some wild beasts. The crodo were winning because of their ability to shift their weight.

"So when I leave, the forest returns to normal!" Seth wondered. But far away, he saw another forest looming above him. Seth stopped and frowned, during his search for dragons, he had walked for this long but never had he come close to seeing this forest.

But he kept going, the more he came closed the eerier it became. When he was a kilometre away, his legs were trembling. But he kept going, now the sun was above him, so his shadow was directly below him.

What was strange was that the shadow started misbehaving and enveloping his legs. He felt as if he was being submerged in mud but he kept going, something was urging him to keep going.

The forest wasn't a forest but large trees that had dried and died. Their eerie dark irregular branches painted something like in a horror movie. Seth might have hoped this was a horror movie but it was not. It was a game that was tethered to reality.

There was a man under the first tree, he wore grey flowing clothes, his face drained and pale while his lips were rosy red. His eyes were dark while the sclera seemed like a swirling white.

Seth was sweating, he had met Redop Irik in a better situation than this, and he wondered what could this man possibly be capable of. Seth can't go back, he felt the sun protect him and if it moved from its location he might be doomed.

What was scary was that the moon above seemed to be gazing at him. If he died, it would own his body, by wrestling control of his body and mind against whatever he was now meeting. Not the man of course but the place,  Dark Void.

"Welcome, Immortal!" The pale man spoke normally as if an uncle from the neighbourhood. "What shall we call you!"

"Sascile Redone!" Seth blurted out. He intended to say, Seth, but his instinct changed it. They were 100 meters away but they heard themselves as if they were next to each other.

The man just stared at him and Seth kept getting closer.
