Chapter 38 Blocking off the Park
Seeing Arno leave like that, Chu Ge fell silent.
The lynx in the tree lamented, "It's a miracle someone like him has survived until now."
A person who only knows brute force cannot possibly keep going in the Survival Arena.
As the saying goes, two fists are hard to beat four hands.
In a Survival Arena, an absolutely invincible existence is impossible, otherwise the Survival Competition would lose its meaning.
Even a strong adult elephant can be killed by a pack of lions on the savannah.
Chu Ge turned his head towards the lynx and said, "Let's get out of here, the commotion just now was a bit loud."
The lynx nodded, jumped down from the tree, and the two quickly walked away in one direction.
His fight with Arno left Chu Ge aching all over.
That guy was like a big steel ball, really tough to handle.
He even felt that Arno was stronger than a pitbull.
Pitbulls just don't feel pain, but Arno really had thick skin that was hard to bite through.
"Although he's a handful, his size puts him at a disadvantage, he won't be our strongest enemy," the lynx said, glancing around, fearing that the Black Blind might suddenly appear.
Chu Ge nodded. If it came to a one-on-one fight, he had a way to overpower Arno, but it would take too long.
But on the other hand, the guy had been in so many battles with other survivors before, perhaps he was running out of steam.
If Arno had been at full strength, he might have been even more ferocious.
He shook his head, not thinking any further.
Survival combat is never a gentlemanly duel, it doesn't consider the state of either party.
The two rapidly left the area.
Five minutes later.
A bulldog appeared, its fur was a mix of yellow and white, with a wrinkled face, very chubby, and it was slightly larger than Arno, belonging to the medium-small dog category.
It sniffed the ground, then followed the scent of Chu Ge and the lynx.
Chu Ge didn't know he was being tracked.
He and the lynx continued hunting.
An hour later.
They encountered a Garfield cat.
They were originally lying on the ground resting when the Garfield cat walked out of the bushes. As soon as it saw Chu Ge and the lynx, it was stunned.
"Cough cough, I took the wrong turn, sorry."
The Garfield cat showed an embarrassed but polite smile, then, stiffly turned around intending to leave.
Chu Ge sprang up, pinned it to the ground, bit through its neck, and swiftly ended its life without causing it too much pain.
"Survivor Chuge Siqi successfully hunted an enemy!"
"You have successfully hunted an enemy and gained 200 Survival Points."
Chu Ge easily killed a Garfield cat, feeling no great sense of accomplishment, as he had become accustomed to hunting.
He and the lynx worked well together, taking turns, one hunter per prey, so neither felt uneasy.
"Lions are lions, sheesh, the way you hunt, you really resemble the lions from the animal kingdom," the lynx marveled with envy in his tone.
Although the lynx looked good, it was far behind a lion in terms of strength and size.
Even if it had survival skills to compensate, given the same amount of Survival Points, a lion would definitely be stronger than a lynx.
Growth is important, but talent is just as important.
Talent is like a foundation, growth is merely adding bricks and mortar to that foundation.
Chu Ge shook his head and said, "Had enough rest? Let's keep moving. In a little while, those university students will start getting out of classes, and the Botanic Garden won't be peaceful."
The lynx nodded and followed Chu Ge as they left.
News of a large number of wild animals appearing within Xuanjiang University hadn't spread, as the school had deliberately concealed it, also instructing security to search for the animals everywhere.
By four in the afternoon, many university students had finished classes, and the campus became lively once again.
Even though the school tried to conceal the truth, the news still leaked out.
On a small path, three female students walked hand in hand toward their dormitory.
The girl in the middle sported a ponytail and wore a colorful dress, her face pretty as she furrowed her brow, seemingly lost in thought.
She was Chu Ge's biological sister, Chu Yingying.
"Yingying, is the news on the forum true? Has our school been invaded by wild animals?" the girl on the left, wearing glasses, asked.
The girl to the right of Chu Yingying was somewhat chubby but had very fair skin, and she hummed, "It must be fake, just like the Qingmei Park incident before; it's all hype."
Chu Yingying, however, thought back to what Chu Ge had said.
He had told her to get back to the dormitory early after school for the next three days.
Could it be related to today's wild animal incident?
"These days, there's all kinds of strange news. Seeing is believing. How come we haven't seen any animals in our school?" Chu Yingying shook her head.
Right now, she just wanted to wait for Chu Ge to get out of school and talk to him.
The kid had been very secretive lately.
He had disappeared twice; could there be some secret hidden behind it?
Not only them, but other students around were also talking about the presence of wild dogs.
The Survivors had also settled down, not daring to show themselves in front of humans any longer.
Fearing for their safety, the school authorities, after a discussion, decided to announce the matter about the wild dogs.
"Students, for some unknown reason, a wild dog has appeared in our school. To prevent injuries, please avoid places with few people and do not go to the Botanic Garden tonight."
This message rang out across Xuanjiang University's various broadcasts, heard not just by all teachers and students but the Survivors too.
At that moment, who knows how many Survivors were cursing the Black Haired Wild Dog.
Chu Ge and the Lynx were at a loss for words too.
"This is only the first day. Sigh, pigs, some guys who stepped in dog shit and blindly upgraded to Two Stars are screwing everyone over," the Lynx said, frustrated.
The whole school knew about the appearance of the Survivors; how were they going to endure the next two days?
A twitch formed at the corner of Chu Ge's mouth; he felt as if he were being scolded too.
"Let's go find a good place to hide for now; by evening, there will definitely be a lot of students here," the Lynx said, turning around. Chu Ge followed her.
"No way, the broadcast has already notified everyone, who would dare to come here?" Chu Ge asked.
The Lynx gave him a look and said, "The enthusiasm of college students is not something they can control. Wait until tonight, and you'll see how many couples there are here."
Chu Ge raised an eyebrow, his expression a mix of a smile and non-smile, "You seem to have a lot of experience."
"Hehe," the Lynx laughed but did not continue the conversation.
Time kept flowing.
As dusk fell, the Botanic Garden became deserted.
All the gates to the Botanic Garden had been sealed off, preventing students from entering, which actually relieved the Survivors.
Chu Ge and the Lynx heard consecutive hunting prompts.
The Black Blind remained the most dominant and eye-catching presence.
That guy had infiltrated the Botanic Garden too!
Chu Ge and the Lynx climbed up a tree, two meters off the ground, shielded by leaves, making it hard for others to spot them.
"Tsk, you can climb trees?" the Lynx expressed her surprise.
Chu Ge's head rested on his front paws as he answered nonchalantly, "Aside from Survival Skills, some skills can be self-taught."
Not only climbing trees, but he was also practicing swimming and diving.
He believed these skills would come in handy one day.
Upon hearing this, the Lynx couldn't help but regard him more highly.
The Botanic Garden under the night sky looked eerie; Chu Ge glanced around, and in the darkness, he could vaguely see pairs of eyes glowing green.
