Chapter 82 Adventurer's Guild, Mission
Chapter 82 Adventurer's Guild, Mission
Erix created a metal surfboard and flew toward the town.
After arriving at the entrance, he stopped upon seeing the guards standing at the semi-opened gate.
"Who are you?" asked the guard.
They wore silver metal armor with long spears in their hands. Erix could inspect them when he looked at them.
[Level 40 Frain Town Guard]
'They are weak.' Erix approached them while smiling, "I am an adventurer, but I lost my ID. It's my first time in this area."
The guards looked at Erix suspiciously before one of them asked, "What's your name?"
"Erix," Erix said truthfully because it would help if his name spread.
'Adventurer's life in another world, eh?' Erix internally smiled as he liked that prospect.
"Erix? Alright, go and get your ID at the Adventurer's Guild. You can't operate in the town without it."
'Is it that important?' Erix raised his eyebrows before nodding with a plain smile. "Sure, I'll get it right away."
After he entered the town, Erix saw three paths, with the middle one being the widest and most extensive, leading straight towards a big bustling circle.
After Erix asked a nearby vendor about Adventurer's Guild, he got the directions and arrived there after two minutes.
The town was more like a big village than a city.
The building of Adventurer's Guild was three stories twenty meters wide, probably the town's biggest building.
Erix entered and went straight towards the central counter in the building, which barely had a few people, before asking the long brown-haired lady in her thirties behind the desk, "How do I get an Adventurer's ID?"
"Renew or first time?"
"First time."
"Put your palm on his slate."
Erix put his palm on a square crystal blue slate with white vein-like patterns. "Good. You are indeed unregistered. Your name?"
"Erix."
"That's all?" the lady looked confusedly at Erix. Nobody had a one-word name.
"Yeah, that's all. Thank you."
"Alright. How much money do you want to add to your account?"
"None."
"…"
"I don't have any money, so I would appreciate your help showing me some high-paying missions."
"For World-class missions that reward in highest payments and exotic rewards, you will have to pay 1,000,000 gold coins to upgrade your membership to World-level in our database."
"But since you don't have any money, you can take up local missions that are posted by people who don't care how many and who complete their missions as long as they complete it. You can check the list on that giant brown board for that."
'This lady talks quick and fast,' Erix thought before he smilingly nodded. "Thank you for the information."
"Here, your adventurer's ID card. You have to add balance to the card by adding coins to the card's storage space. Your current storage space is limited to 10,000 units, so ten thousand coins of any value."
"I see."
"Yes. Add coins in the card because all buy and sell goes through your ID card for quick transactions."
"Got it, thanks."
Erix took his card and thanked the lady before turning around and walking towards the giant brown board with the magical screen.
'Is this powered by magic?' Erix narrowed his eyes and activated his Aura Gear as he saw the aura of mana flowing in a magical structure in the giant brown board.
'It seems that the technology here is magic-based.'
'Can we learn and apply it to our world then?' Erix mused. 'This first floor is a whole new world, so I wonder how much exploring this world will affect Earth?'
Shaking his head, Erix focused on his priority and searched for the highest-paying mission on the board.
Soon, he found it. The third row and fourth column sections had the highest paying mission.
[ Finding Mr. Railun's son and daughter]
-> Urgent Mission.
-> Mr. Railun's son and daughter are lost in Netherwind Woodlands.
-<Rewards>-
-> 10,000 gold coins for finding them and 100 for providing useful leads.
'This looks like a good start,' Erix rubbed his chin. 'I should be able to complete it.'
'Aura Gear, check.'
'Zoom, check.'
'My big zombie brain, check.'
Erix added the mission code to his magic-tech Adventurer's ID card and got its information.
[ Visit Mr. Railun at his Blue Star mansion in the northeast of the town, on the Magic Carp road, or if he is not there, meet him at his camp in the southwest of Netherwind Woodlands]
'Was there such a cool-sounding mansion?' Erix wondered while walking out of the Adventurer's Guild. After walking for fifteen minutes while looking and learning things about this town and terms, Erix arrived at the Blue Star mansion.
'As expected.'
The mansion had around thirty people standing in small groups and a few solos.
'All of them are oozing out auras clearly in Supra-order rank,' Erix thought as he swept his glance at the people.
"Are you one of the adventurers who took up the mission of Mr. Railun?" asked one of the guards.
Erix nodded, "I am."
"You came at a perfect time. Please come in; Mr. Railun will be here in a few minutes."
*Scrreeee…Roarr!*
Right after that guard finished speaking, everyone heard a sharp draconic roar.
A flying beast was coming from the north at a supersonic speed.
*Roarr!*
It was a majestic ten meters long dark green dragon with red to orange stripes and big wings! It descended on top of the mansion's large empty terrace.
'It looks like the terrace was made for the dragon's landing spot,' Erix thought, looking at how smoothly the dragon landed on it.
"Everyone! Thank you for coming to my aid! As long as you help me find my children, you will have my gratitude and rewards both!" The middle-aged man above the dragon shouted. There was another person beside him, a tall, muscular man with dark blond hair wearing a semi-iron warrior outfit with two swords behind his back. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
'Powerful,' Erix felt a more powerful aura than the rest from that man.
"Please follow me! I'll lead everyone to the southwest of Netherwind Woodlands. We'll have to start the investigation from there!"
*Roarr!*
The dragon flew up and roared before flying back to the north.
The people in the mansion also flew up as some unfurled wings while some took out flying chariots or carriages.
Magic Tools.
"That's it?" Erix muttered, slightly surprised at how fast this went, but he flew up nonetheless and quickly followed the fast-moving band.
