Chapter 297: Skill Creation Chances, Five Days (2/2)
Opening their eyes amidst the chaotic atmosphere with mixed energy motes and biome of Wind, Ice, and Flame, the duo felt slightly frustrated.
Even using the Limitless Plane, the duo failed to glean the next step of their Chaos Concept, ending their session in disappointment.
"Gah, this is hard," Rin stood up as she looked at the chaotic scenery.
"Chaos…" Erix muttered and weakly smiled, "Well, this concept is one of the high-end concepts. Lilith said it would be hard to progress in this one, and it's showing."
"True," Rin sighed and sat beside Erix again, "Forget it. Let's begin our today's main dish."
"Yeah, I am excited about it," Erix said with a laugh. "Let's start."
Both of them closed their eyes once again and finally used their first-ever skill-creation attempt.
A second later, they felt their consciousness drifting away as both arrived at different mystic realms, exclusively created by Mystic Root.
Erix arrived in a realm of death. Everything was black and filled with death. It seemed as if Life had no place or purpose here.
Death bloomed at every corner of this world, in the form of strange deathly creatures, exotic skeletons, ghosts, wraiths, cursed creatures, deathly plantations, geography, and structure.
Everything was made up of Death, Prana, Spirit, and Soul in their foundation.
Erix floated in the sky as he observed the outlandishness of this realm while a monotonic voice rang his mind with information.
[You have used a Skill Creation chance. You have 10 hours in this place. 10 hours here is equivalent to 1 minute outside.]
[Any creature you kill or interact with here will show you a hallucination that has a chance to inspire you.]
[You can only wield Death, Prana, Spirit, and Soul energy here to create a skill.]
[Once you create a skill, you can register it and immediately exit from this realm. You can also spend the complete 10 hours by not registering a skill until the last minute and continue gleaning more inspiration.]
[You will also automatically exit if you die.]
[Good luck and all the best.]
*Whistle…*
Erix whistled in amazement as he looked around and heard the voice explaining to him about this skill-creation attempt realm.
*Roar!*
Erix turned around as a grin spread across his face upon seeing the incoming Bone Wyvern with pristine-black bones, shining with gray patterns.
"Let's begin."
…
On the other hand, Rin arrived in a world of blades. But this didn't mean that everything was blades here.
Instead, there were unique creatures here that made Rin dumbfounded.
Every creature, including the strange humanoid ones with a single eye, had one thing in common.
Blade.
Every single thing here had a form of Blade in them, naturally, and biologically. Blade energy was abundant and everywhere, in everything, along with Prana, Spirit, and Soul.
"Damn..."
Rin's horizons were completely broadened as she observed this weird yet wonderful realm consisting of myriad types of blades.
"So that's how it is, huh…" Rin grinned as the monotone voice in her head stopped after wishing her good luck.
Without further ado, Rin flew towards a bunch of two-meter tall humanoids of rocky and metallic bodies with a single eye and swords instead of hands fighting each other.
Rin joined the fray with a flurry of her blades, killing them as she started getting inspiration in the form of information regarding the way blade powers these creatures wielded.
The duo began and intended to make full use of the skill-creation chances.
…
Earth, Phoenix City…
Isabella wore a black combat robe with blue and gold patterns and held a scepter in her hand with a crystal orb attached on top of it, whirling with four colorful energy indicating Fire, Wind, Water, and Earth.
In the Unfettered Guild's hall, she faced ten core members of guilds, her face tired and angry.
"What do we do, leader? T-They killed Taro-chan and her party," a middle-aged woman spoke while suppressing her sobs.
"The Heavenly Melody Guild's members arrived and killed them, but something is wrong with those bastards. Why are they attacking without caring about their lives?" Alfred said with a deep frown on his face. "Their state of mind felt weird."
Alfred was a middle-aged man, one of the early members of the guild that Erix recruited along with Leon and Zoe, who were a father-daughter duo, and Alfred was their long-time butler.
"One more thing. Since six of our members were killed, ten people left today just before you arrived," Zoe said with clenched fists, clearly angry. "We helped and supported them, but when trouble came upon us, they ran with tails between their legs."
Zoe cursed under her breath, feeling angry because she particularly helped one of them, a girl of her age, and thought she had become friends, but she ran away without telling Zoe anything.
"More might leave if this continued," Leon sighed.
"I…I can't blame them," Isabella sighed and clenched her fists, "The Rowin Elf clan finally agreed to help us in exchange for helping them gather resources in a secret realm later. They will be arriving here soon."
After saying that, Isabella took out ten pills and waved her hand, giving one to each one, "This pill will boost your Spirit stat permanently by 100 to 200. I got this from the Elf clan, as creating this pill is their specialty."
Everyone was surprised.
"This pill can only work once, but this will boost our powers, and I want each of you in other parties of the guild because you are the strongest we have."
"Eat it now and sit in meditation to absorb the pill's power properly," Isabella said. "Kenshin and Sameira also told me they would come here after half an hour, so after you finish absorbing the pill's power, call and gather every member in the central hall."
"Alright."
Everyone nodded.
Isabella looked at them and flew outside before entering the Tree mansion at the back of the guild's territory. She entered one of the rooms on the top branch's floor and saw Aaron in meditation.
Aaron, Isabella released a soft sigh, her face laced with worry.
'Rin, Erix…I hope you two can return soon.'
Isabella was recently feeling a bad omen gnawing at her.
Moreover, she recently heard of a few people returning from an Abyss, so she hoped Rin and Erix would also return soon.
