Lin Shen ignored Wei Wufu and continued as he walked, “Aren’t you curious why we came here?”
“I don’t care why you’re here.” Tian Xin obviously wasn’t buying it, her gun still aimed at Wei Wufu; she was about to pull the trigger.
In her view, even a disabled Alloy Level was a bigger threat than Lin Shen, a mere Steel Level.
“Do you know there’s a being more advanced than the Base Variant Creatures? Kill him, and you’ll never know where that being is.” Lin Shen sped up his speech, whether or not he could save Wei Wufu’s life was now up to fate.
“What are you talking about?” Tian Xin actually paused her finger, although her gun remained aimed at Wei Wufu, her gaze shifted to Lin Shen.
“It seems you know what I mean, don’t you?” Lin Shen said while walking, appearing to head towards Wei Wufu, when in fact Wei Wufu’s position was within seven steps of Tian Xin.
Tian Xin didn’t stop him and said coldly, “I don’t know, but I hope what you know can trade for your life.”
“Above the Base Variant Creatures, there’s an even higher lifeform; you should know about that, right?” Lin Shen said.
“That’s just a legend. Don’t tell me there’s something like that on this planet.” Tian Xin said disbelievingly, but she didn’t look like she was going to shoot.
“If you don’t believe me, then shoot.” Lin Shen had reached Wei Wufu’s side and internally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Whether I believe it or not is up to me, just finish what you’re going to say,” Tian Xin said.
“I can’t explain it,” Lin Shen shook his head.
“Why can’t you explain?” Tian Xin asked, puzzled.
“Because I can’t make up anything more,” Lin Shen said with a smile.
“You’re asking for death,” feeling insulted by Lin Shen, Tian Xin, not bothering to shoot Wei Wufu, turned the gun towards Lin Shen and pulled the trigger.
Lin Shen got the reaction he wanted; as Tian Xin’s finger moved to pull the trigger, his speed suddenly increased to an unimaginable pace.
The shooting speed of the Angel Revolver is 44, which is faster than Crystal Base, but Lin Shen’s speed now surpassed 44, almost like a phantom.
Before Tian Xin’s finger had fully pulled the trigger, Lin Shen was already in front of her, under her gaze filled with doubt, surprise, disbelief, and fear, Lin Shen’s finger viciously hit an acupoint on her body.
Tian Xin’s body immediately froze in place, the trigger halfway pulled, unable to go any further.
“Impossible… A Steel Level trash… How could it have such speed… and moreover, from that primitive and uncivilized Human race…” Tian Xin felt her worldview and cognition being overturned.
A Steel Level couldn’t possibly be that fast; it was an ironclad rule. Not to mention Humans, who had only been in the universe for a short time, but even races that had developed for countless eons in the universe couldn’t break through the barriers between levels.
What baffled Tian Xin even more was that although she was wounded, her body’s strength remained; how could a Steel Level, with whatever method used, render her immobile with a single strike, making it difficult for her to even speak.
Tian Xin looked at Lin Shen, her eyes full of confusion and perplexity.
Wei Wufu’s eyes were similarly complex as he silently thought, “This man… is getting more and more outrageous…”
Lin Shen didn’t care what they thought and slowly reached out to remove the Pet Capsule Gun from Tian Xin’s hand.
In Lin Shen’s view, a Celestial without a Carapace to protect them was much easier to handle than a Base Variant Creature.
Tian Xin’s body was incredibly resilient, a blow from an Alloy Level weapon would probably not harm her, but she was vulnerable; Acupoint Sealing worked better on soft targets, the harder they were, the more difficult they were to seal, the softer, the easier.
Even the most resilient being, impervious to swords and guns, will succumb easily if you find their weaknesses.
Sometimes Lin Shen himself feels that the ability to seal acupoints is just like human nature. If you are strong-willed enough, it’s hard for others to manipulate you. But if you are too weak-willed, even if you are inherently strong, you are still easy to be manipulated; that’s human nature to bully the weak and fear the strong.
“Wei, do you know how to use this?” Lin Shen looked over the construction of the pet capsule pistol, which was very similar to a revolver, but also had some differences.
Similar to Tian Xin’s carapace, the white jade body of the gun was etched with mysterious symbols, and its design was exaggerated, or rather flamboyant, with a blend of retro and technological aesthetics.
The gun’s firing pin was shaped like a little angel’s wing, which looked very unique.
Shooting was something Lin Shen could do, but he didn’t know how to open the magazine. The way to open it was different from any gun he had seen before; he wanted to see what pet capsules were inside.
“Yes,” Wei Wufu nodded.
Lin Shen handed the gun to him, and Wei Wufu pressed something on the gun before flicking it, causing the gun cylinder to pop out at an angle.
Wei Wufu glanced at it and handed the gun back to Lin Shen.
When Lin Shen took the gun and saw it, he couldn’t help but curse, “What a pauper, still trying to show off, shameless.”
The gun cylinder had seven chambers, each capable of housing one pet capsule; however, six were empty, with only one filled with an alloy level pet capsule.
“No wonder that fellow never shot. It turns out he could only fire once, and it wasn’t even certain to kill Wei Wufu,” Lin Shen retracted the gun cylinder.
“The stock, the key,” Wei Wufu added another word.
Understanding what Wei Wufu meant, Lin Shen pressed the same spot on the gun. He pulled out something like a magazine from beneath the stock, which contained not bullets, but a key.
“This thing is quite ingeniously designed.” Lin Shen played with it for a while, and soon, he completely understood how to use it, filled with pleasant surprise.
To others, this was a formidable weapon for utilizing pets, but the key was the strength of the pets inside; the gun was merely an accelerator.
But for Lin Shen, with this device, he could achieve speeds even faster than those at the Crystal Base Level.
However, Lin Shen still hadn’t figured out where the energy that accelerated the pets’ transformation and movement came from, and whether it could be used indefinitely.
Lin Shen asked Wei Wufu, who said he didn’t know either. Humans couldn’t make such a thing; it was an alien technological product. Only a few humans had it, mostly acquired through purchase or barter with aliens.
Wei Wufu had encountered some pet capsule pistols before, but he only knew how to use them, similarly lacking understanding of their design.
“Your name is Tian Xin, right? I’m giving you a chance now. Whether you can seize it is up to you,” Lin Shen said as he tapped Tian Xin once more.
Tian Xin instantly regained the power of speech. After his complexion changed a few times, he suddenly put up a smile and said, “Friend, you were right, I think we can cooperate for mutual benefit. Let’s be friends.”
“Next, you’re not going to tell me that you know of existences on this planet that are above Base Variant Creatures, are you?” Lin Shen said with a smirk.
Tian Xin said seriously, “There might actually be some, though I can’t be certain. All I know is that a Realm King died on this planet, and if we can find his relics, we’ll be able to ascend to great heights. I braved death and hardship to come here for that very Realm King’s relics.”
“Realm King?” Lin Shen looked at Tian Xin, puzzled.
“To divide the heavens as one’s domain, to command the earth as king, to rule over thousands of stars, to hold the power of life and death over countless races, such is a Realm King. Only the most powerful and invincible kings in the universe have the right to be called Realm Kings,” Tian Xin slowly explained.
