Summoned and Unwanted

Chapter 294

294 The new maid cook

Vincent used his index finger and touched his other hand. He smeared the dust while saying, “What about now? Should I touch the food with these dirty, unhealthy, and germ fill hands?”

“Nobles liked my food whenever I was allowed to cook in the absence of cooks. But I could never stay too long in bad or good kitchens after cooks and their assistants didn’t like it when a temporary maid was taking their job. Furthermore, I don’t have a class.” Yula informed why she needed to find another place to work sometimes.

“The good kitchens were in a good state because they were paid well, and those responsible seemed to like getting praised by the nobles employing us. However, the bad kitchens would use sauces to cover the taste of food and pocket the money on the bargain ingredients they purchase.” Yula looked unhappy as she revealed the two types of working environments found in the kitchens of nobles.

“In the end, I had to switch to a cleaning position if I wanted to work. ” Yula concluded the work story of her past.

Tula hugged her mother and said, “Mommy cooks the best food in the world. Mommy is the best, hehe.”

Yula looked at Vincent’s hands, and a sting of pain rushed to her head. Her body glowed yellow, and the brightness slowly increased in its radiance. A change was suddenly occurring in her body.

“Big brother. What is happening to mommy? ” Tula became frightened when her mother suddenly started to glow yellow.

[I can feel mana surrounding Yula. Is she perhaps awakening after we...]

The radiating yellow light faded in about a long-held surprised breath. Yula rubbed her temple and said, “It’s okay, sweety. Mommy can now cook tastier food.”

.....

“Did you perhaps awaken?” Asked Ester out of curiosity. She overheard how those who awaken experience the golden light awakening gifted by dragon gods to all life.

“Yes. I have new memories... or are they old memories?... how can I say it, memories of me handling food. ” Yula replied with doubt if she was still the same Yula as before she awakened and acquired memories she never had before.

Yula felt as if a future chef Yula or a chef Yula from an alternate world integrated with her and gave her some of their experience.

“I felt like that when my mate said he would love me, hehe.” Lupa shared her past. However, Vincent initially said he would love Lupa because he thought she would remain a wolf and treat her as a pet instead of becoming a beauty and now booked to be his wife.

“I too felt like that, but it helped me in my time in need. So I accepted these memories as my own.” Ester shared her thoughts about the scary nature of suddenly gaining new memories.

“M-me too.” Iris quietly said.

“I don’t feel like that... my memories are so hard to understand that I don’t know how to replicate them...” Sakura shared her thoughts on the matter.

Sakura gained what everyone considers the best crafting class and is classified by the people as legendary rank. Such intricate and demanding tasks require practice and skill instead of following the memories become the best at the snap of a finger.

Yula looked at the four women and sincerely thanked them for helping her come to terms with her new memories. “Thank you for your care.” She said with a thankful bow.

Vincent focused his gaze on Yula and checked what kind of cooking class Yula awakened into and what kind of cooking enhancing classes there were in the world.

“Interesting. Yula has awakened into a cooking class. The most exciting part is how Yula has a skill that helps her replicate the food she makes. Additionally, the food Yula felt was it was most delicious at that!” Vincent announced, yet many didn’t understand why it was exciting.

“In other words, once Yula cooks a good food once, she should be able to keep making the same good tasting food with ease. Well, after she gets the hang of the skill. So, it means that if Yula cooks a good dish with fish, meat, vegetables, or fruit once, she can keep cooking the same kind of fish as well as she cooked before.” Vincent tried to explain in simpler terms.

Tula still looked puzzled, but she hugged her mother and praised, “Mommy is the best, hehe,” either if she completely understood Vincent or not.

Olive, Lian, Leah, Clara, and Beth looked at Yula with a pair of glittering eyes blinded by bewilderment. They were going to eat good food from now on. It was like a dream they never expected to come true.

[It seems Yula understood Earth’s food hygienic handling knowledge, and it allowed the veteran temp maid to awaken.]

[Thus, this situation begs the question of what awakening really is. Why were your words the catalyst of her awakening?]

[So, does it mean people can awaken similar to the classes in games? Can a person awaken a class if they become proficient enough in a subject and have enough requirements?]

-Kazumi... let’s leave it for another day before you blow my mind with bottomless questions.-

[Heh... fine. Let’s just say Yula leveled up, and we acquired a maid with cooking class in our team.]

-...-

“The light was so cool!” Lian excitedly said. On his face was a beaming smile.

“Big sister, Iris’s light looked more pretty. ” Olive added.

Iris blushed when Leah, Clara, and Beth looked at her with a curious gaze. The shy gray demigoblin wasn’t used to having so many people looking at her with an interested gaze.

*Clap* “Ester, could you hand out a piece of cloth to cover our mouth and nose? I don’t want to overwork Iris if we get sick.” Vincent asked after he regained everyone’s attention on him.

*One hour later – Clean Kitchen*

*Clap, clap, clap* “Good job, everyone. Everyone’s cooperation made this possible.” Vincent praised while clapping.

The kitchen was, for the most part, completely clean. Only a few places where they couldn’t reach remained dirty.

Furthermore, a few dishes, cutlery, and even one or two pieces of cookware such as pans had to be thrown away. Some had disgusting difficult to remove stains, while other had chips, dents, or broken missing parts.

“Now that works up an appetite.” He added while rubbing his belly.

“Yey! The baddie dirt is gone!” Leah sitting on Sakura’s shoulders, happily waved her arms. The other four children also seemed happy after they got a turn to sit on Sakura’s shoulders and become so tall that they could touch the ceiling and even clean it.

“Plow made the floor shiny.” *Pho* Plow with a piece of cloth covering half of her face boasted. She wagged her eight tails with a wet rag on each tail and then glanced at Lupa as if she did more her.

“You wish you little fox! The walls are cleaner than your dirty shiny floor. ” Lupa didn’t back down after she was in charge of cleaning the walls.

*Pho!* “Floor better!” Plow accepted the challenge.

“Ahem!” Ester loudly cleared her throat and winked at Vincent.

“Those who fight are bad kids. Only good people will eat good food while those who are bad will eat bad food.” Vincent then raised his hand and continued, “Raise your hand or paw if you are a good boy or girl. I am a good boy.”

The five children and Tula immediately raised their hands and revealed a beaming smile. They looked forward to the good food.

Ester and Yula raised their hands next.

Iris averted her gaze and raised her hand.

On the other hand, Sakura felt conflicted after she became slightly confident and injured Vincent. She didn’t know in what category she should be placed in.

“Miss Demon is a good girl. I want to see your hand up.” Leah kindly said. Leah gently caressed Sakura’s head to make Sakura feel better.

Leah’s words and caring action soothed Sakura’s heart, and her doubt soon disappeared. However, she had quite a few questions she needed to find an answer to.

‘Why is Vincent looking at me like that? Why does he have that smile? I am not a petite woman... does he... no, he doesn’t like me like that, does he? Was he serious about marrying his women? Does he see me as his woman?’ Sakura deeply pondered.

Sakura has a lot to think about for the present and for the future. In the meantime time, her body initiated auto control, and it started repeating what the other was doing. Sakura unconsciously raised her hand and glanced at Vincent.

Lupa and Plow stopped when everyone’s hands were raised because both wanted to be called good girls and eat good food.

Lupa looked at Plow in the eye while Plow did the same. It suddenly became a stand-off.

Lupa twitched her fingers, and Plow moved her toes. They were ready to raise their hand or paw first. The second one was to be the loser. The game of speed was about to start soon.
