Sovereign of the Firmaments

"Today, you will be working in two teams and the target is 500 rank 1 spirit beasts along with at least 10 rank 2 spirit beasts."

"Beck, you are free to do whatever you want; however, your focus is only on becoming a lesser mage."

"Porter, today you will search for all the rank 3 spirit beasts in the Baron ground. Remember, don't enter the Viscount grounds."

As usual, the entire fighting team of the Hellmore family was standing in front of the Myriad Primordial forest as Lucas gave them the orders.

"Yes, family head."

All the squires nodded their heads and divided into two teams before rushing into the forest with their new rank 3 swords.

Behind them, Porter also rushed with an excited smile on his face because currently, he had a rank 4 sword in his space ring.

Even though he had to use it only if his life was in danger, Porter was still excited because, in the wilderness, dangers are the most common things.

As for Beck, unlike yesterday, Lucas only asked her to increase the level of her third basic spell to become Lesser Mage.

'Unlike me, the other mages can't upgrade their spells very easily.'

Yesterday night, Lucas got a good understanding of how Mages upgrade their ranks and he also learned on Beck would fulfil the requirement as long as her third basic spell is upgraded to level 2.

'It is time for you to give me the second mission from the weekly mission series system.'

Once everyone entered the forest, Lucas was the only one left in that place as he asked the system about the mission.

'Ding,

          Adding the 1000 sovereign points to the host's account from the first mission.

'Finally, the system credited it.'

However, the system didn't show the second mission; instead, it rewarded him with 1000 sovereign points.

According to the first mission, for every single rank 1 spirit beast he killed, he would get a sovereign point. Since he killed 1000 rank 1 spirit beasts, he should be rewarded with 1000 sovereign points.

However, the system said that the additional rewards would be given before the next mission.

So, naturally, he was not surprised.

'Ding,

          The second mission in the weekly mission series is updated.

          Mission name:- Kill 100 rank 2 spirit beasts.

          Mission reward:- Beast evolution crystal.

'Only a Beast evolution crystal?'

After seeing the second mission, Lucas was a little disappointed because yesterday's reward was much higher than yesterday.

Moreover, he didn't know where the baby fire snake Ruby went. It disappeared on the same day as Evan. So, Lucas thought she was with him.

'Anyway, I need to practice my skills and increase the gold coins. Also, I can always give this crystal to Beck as she has five spirit beasts now.'

Nevertheless, Lucas decided to finish the mission.

Time continued to pass and in a flash, five hours passed by.

A fireball landed on a group of three rank 2 spirit beasts which was blasted away; however, they were still alive except for a few injuries.

However, before those three rank 2 spirit beasts could notice who attacked them, they fell to the ground as a silhouette went past them.

'Ding,

          Bullseye. Experience gained 5 units.

'Ding,

          10 units of magic power consumed and 1 unit of magic power is recovered.

'Ding,

          Short sword mastery:- Perfect success stage (1321 / 1000 units experience points).

          Note:- The mastery of a perfect success stage in a weapon is equivalent to the tier 1 lesser knight.

'Ding,

          The second mission from the weekly mission series is completed.

'Ding,

          A Fire beast evolution crystal is credited to the host's inventory.

The silhouette was none other than Lucas who worked very hard for the last five hours as the system notifications continued to ring in his head.

With the last three rank 2 spirit beasts he killed, Lucas had successfully completed his mission just within five hours, leaving him five more hours for his rank 3 spirit beast searching.

'Phew...finally I completed the mission.'

Lucas heaved a sigh of relief with the series of system notifications in his head; however, there was a particular system notification that made him mutter, "I need to find a rank 3 spirit beast soon."

A tier 1 lesser knight has a mastery of perfect success stage in a weapon; however, the only thing that's stopping Lucas from becoming one was a good rank 3 spirit beast.

What's more, his experience has already crossed the limit, making Lucas urge his search for the rank 3 spirit beast.

'Swoosh'

After storing the corpses of the rank 2 spirit beasts, Lucas took a short break before entering deeper into the forest as he started his search for the rank 3 spirit beast.

'Rank 3 Inferior ox beast...useless.'

'Wetland ents, even though they have a good defence, their attacks were useless.'

'Forest werecats, they are fast but they also have many useless skills compared to their good skills.'

'Quiet walkers, they are perfect assassins but….I can already be considered a good assassin and with time, my assassin skills will only improve along with my strength and speed. So, why waste my first skill on it?'

Lucas was silently jumping from one tree to others as he carefully searched for a good rank 3 spirit beast for he could kill to become the lesser knight.

However, no matter how hard he looked, he was unable to find a good rank 3 spirit beasts.

Even though many of the rank 3 spirit beasts he checked today had good skills, they also have the worst skills. 

Since a Quasi knight can't pick the skill of his choosing to modify into Knight skill, Lucas rejected those beasts.

'If only there was a spirit beast like a winged white lion or Shadow wyvern.'

Beasts like the one that Lucas mentioned have almost good skills and with time, they would become even more powerful. So, Lucas was searching for the spirit beast like them.

Even though Lucas had the chance to kill the rank 4 shadow wyvern, he didn't kill it and he never regretted that decision. So, he was okay with it as he continued his search.

Time continued to pass as another hour passed.

While searching for the good rank 3 spirit beasts, Lucas nearly came to the border of the Baron grounds of the Myriad primordial forest and as long as he crossed that, it was a territory where rank 4 spirit beasts roam and rank 3 spirit beasts were as soon as leaves on a tree.

'Roar'

'Growl'

Suddenly, he heard a loud roar of a spirit beast along with a growl.

'There is a fight between the beasts?'

Just 500 or so meters away from him, in the Viscount grounds, Lucas two powerful looking rank 3 spirit beasts fighting each other.

One was a three-meter white tiger and the other was a three-headed werecat. Both the beasts have exactly the same strength as they fought one another.

  To be more specific, it was a three-headed werecat that was toying with the tiger.

'A tiger is being toyed by a cat...interesting.'

Lucas could not help but joke when he saw the white tiger being bullied by a cat.

'Grr'

'Huh? A baby white tiger….also, it has wings on its back.'

Just as he was watching the interesting scene of a tiger being bullied by the cat, Lucas saw a white tiger with small wings on its back stumbling walked in front of the white tiger and purred at the werecat.

'A winged white tiger will become a Sovereign level spirit beast just like Beck's white-winged lion. I need to get hold of it.'

Even though Lucas was not a big fan of animals in the past life, this world, as long as he had a sovereign level spirit beast, could be considered a powerhouse in a firmament.

So, Lucas started to devise a place to capture the baby tiger.

'Shall I kill the mother white tiger and take the baby white tiger?'

As a former deadly assassin, that was the first thought that came to his head; however, he continued to think of another plan because if the baby white tiger remembers that he killed its mother, then it would never form a contract with me.

'That's right! Why don't I do this?'

Soon, Lucas' eyes fell on the three-headed werecat as he muttered to himself with an evil smile.
