Chapter 10: Poor Hidden Boss

Chapter 10: Poor Hidden Boss

"So what should I do now?"

Staring intently at the Hidden Boss that was now staring at him as well, Sakim really wondered how would he kill it. Its eye sockets on its trunk had no eyeballs and its lips were forming a horizontal straight line. As if it was very unhappy seeing him.

The only option for him was to reach level 5. But it was unsure whether when would he reach that level. It was possible that before he could even reach level 5, the Hidden Boss might already have regenerated its HP to its maximum. Or perhaps, he would never meet this Hidden Boss ever again.

It would really be a huge pity if either both would happen as he would miss out on this chance.

But it was also possible for him that even if he reached level 5 and fight the Hidden Boss, he would be killed by the Hidden Boss instead. It was something that couldn't be neglected since there was still a huge level gap between them.

That being said, besides reaching level 5, he must find another way to kill the Hidden Boss.

So racking his brain to find an answer, Sakim fell into deep contemplation. And to his joy, just after a minute of thinking, he really managed to find an answer.

His lips curved upwards as excitement and greed were starting to work upon him. Just by thinking about it, made his hands couldn't stop shaking.

He just recalled about his Passive Skill: Greed!

It was his passive skill that even dared to steal the Wrath Of Heaven. So perhaps, it was possible for him to steal the remaining 1 HP of the Hidden Boss.

The only problem was that he didn't know how to use it. He'd just stolen the Wrath Of Heaven without knowing it so how could he steal this 1 HP of this Hidden Boss.

But thinking about it as well, it was a Passive Skill. It might just work on its own or just by the thought of him.

So with that in mind, Sakim slowly reached out his hand towards the 'Devil Tree' and put his palm on the surface of its trunk just under his [Rusty Sword] that were still piercing through it.

As his palm touched the tree trunk, Sakim intended to steal its remaining HP as he couldn't help but mutter, "Steal!"

"!"

[Notification!]

You've stolen the remaining 1 HP of the Hidden Boss. You've received 1 HP!

[Congratulations! You have killed the Hidden Boss: Devil Tree. You've received 25,000 exp and a Golden Chest.]

[You've level up by 6.]

[Quest function is now available.]

"!"

Sakim found it hard to say any words as his eyes were widening in shock seeing the many windows popping up on the screen. He just tried it out if it would happen but to his surprise, it really did work.

He really had stolen the remaining 1 HP of the Hidden Boss and managed to kill it. Besides, he'd just broken the rules of not killing the Hidden Boss within a 10 levels cap. So how could he remain nonchalant with that?

And not just that, he'd also leveled up by 6 and received another reward box. And lastly, the thing he was looking for, the quest function, was now within his reach without breaking too much hard work at all.

His luck this time really was so great!

Just by thinking about all of it, Sakim found it hard to suppress his happiness as a slight grin surfaced on his lips.

Fixing his gaze to the hologram screen, Sakim wished to see how was his stats doing right now as he said calmly, "Status."

"!"

Sakim studied the changes of his status and just like what he had expected, every level he would make would raise all of his stats by 1 and would give him additional three free stat points.

Nodding in satisfaction, Sakim decided to put all of his available points to Vitality stat since there was nothing else he could do anyway. With that said, Sakim then ordered to the System, "Put all available points to Vitality stat."

Vitality: 50

Seeing the changes in his stat especially the Vitality stat, Sakim was still satisfied. With his Passive Skill: Double Vitality, the supposedly 25 Vitality stat points became 50, making his HP reached 5,000.

Just by looking at how fast his HP was rising, Sakim's craving to level up had just become stronger. If he could just have a greater amount of HP, it would be nearly impossible for anyone to kill him with ease.

He didn't need to have so much high attack damage as well since he could just steal the HP of his enemies with his Passive Skill: Greed. Besides, Vitality stat was also increasing his Reflect chance by 0.1% on each point, enabling him to reflect the 50% received damage back to the attacker.

Now that he had 50 Vitality points, his Reflect had now a 5% chance. Though it was not that high, it would still be a huge asset for him to increase his fighting prowess.

He really was thankful that a Hidden Boss on the verge of its death delivered itself onto him!

But now that he thought about it, he really wondered how did that Hidden Boss end up being like that. He shifted his gaze towards the Hidden Boss only to see a tree slowly withering with its life already died out.

Just after a few more moments, the tree fell on the ground, and unbelievably, it turned into dust and was being swept away by the wind, leaving only some of its remains. His [Rusty Sword] fell on the ground as well, as he picked it up and held it into his grip once again.

"Just how...?" Sakim still failed to realize what had happened to the Hidden Boss making its HP fell to the brink of death.

Never he realized that a while ago, when he fell from the sky, it was hard to say whether it was a mere coincidence or pure luck but Sakim had landed right on the very top of the Hidden Boss.

If not for the item [Ring Of Immortality] that the [Hidden Boss: Devil Tree] was carrying, it had probably have put to death the moment Sakim arrived in this world. [Ring Of Immortality] was an Accessory that allowed the wearer to resurrect after death, and it had automatically activated when the HP of the Hidden Boss hit zero.

Of course, it wasn't Sakim himself who had damaged the Hidden Boss and put it to the brink of its death, but the yellow thing that looked like a liquid and was covering his entire body was the culprit.

After he landed on the top of the Hidden Boss, it was turned into ashes and a huge crater was formed to where Sakim had landed.

The Hidden Boss then appeared just outside the perimeter of the crater with its precious remaining 1 HP.

It really wanted to avenge itself and kill the one who caused it to that state but to its dismay, that fool was actually only a level 1 human. How could it possibly make a move against him?

So as reluctant as it was, it could only watch the other party.

But the Hidden Boss still didn't give up avenging itself! It knew that the other party needed to level up so it chased away all the nearby monsters to the furthest possible so that the other party wouldn't be able to level up until the next day or two.

That way, it thought that it could finally avenge itself. But what it never thought in its wildest imaginations was that this level 1 human was actually able to kill it and defy the rules of not allowing any Player to kill a Hidden Boss with more than ten levels cap.

It was a feat achieved only by those Players who had managed to make a legend to themselves. How could it think that this level 1 human was actually one of those monsters?!

But it was already too late. It was already killed and the Hidden Boss could only accept its fated death. A death without retaliation at all.

It was still planning to make the day pass so that it could restore its HP to its maximum and tail this player to have its revenge when he finally reached level 5. But it appeared that it wouldn't be able to see another day anymore.

But now that it think about it, it was much better if it just fed the monsters to this human so that it could level up immediately to level 5 and have its revenge already. It really wondered in its death why did it prevent the human to level up in the first place.

But thinking about it as well, there was a chance that this human would take its remaining HP if he reached level 5, that might also be the reason why did it prevent the monsters to come to this human for a day since its HP would be restored to its maximum every day and it would avoid the risk of being killed by the other party when it fought him.

It just that it never thought that the other party was able to kill it.

But as bewildered as it was, there was no use to it, for it was already dead and would never be spawned again.

Because unlike Normal Bosses or Wild Bosses that were respawning themselves in a given time, Hidden Bosses weren't. If they were killed, that was already their end.

Of course, they wouldn't be extinct since any monsters could become a Hidden Boss if a certain Hidden Boss was killed. It was just that, there was a fixed number of them around the world, making them hard to come by.
