Chapter 446: Fifth World: A Righteous Prick
Chapter 446: Fifth World: A Righteous Prick
Wen Qinxi had been called so many things in his life. Stupid, silly, weirdo, you name it but this was the first time he was called a beast. Not like the grandma next door's chihuahua named beast but a monster of the highest order and it was right in his face.
He would have asked this monk, "What did I ever do to you? Didn't I always give alms to monks on the road on my way to school every Friday?" but of course, he couldn't.
"Sect leader Qie, it is highly unusual that a righteous sect like yours would harbour such an evil being. Don't you know evil attracts evil? How long do you think your sect will stand before it is torn apart by the forces of evil?" said the Taoist priest who was glaring at Zhao Zhi with his menacing dark eyes.
Qie Ranzhe moved a step to the side blocking the Taoist priest's view of Zhao Zhi. Anyone who knew him well could tell that Qie Ranzhe was pissed off despite his expression not changing much. His hand was tightly clenching Black Calamity's hilt till his knuckles turned white.
This Taoist priest had absolutely no right to call Zhao Zhi names. When his family was killed and he was on the verge of death, it wasn't the righteous sects that rescued him but Zhao Zhi. All these sects cared about was attaining the treasures of this secret labyrinth and when they found out it was a trap they worked together to seal it. Qie Ranzhe could understand their reasoning. No one would want those creatures to run rampant in the mortal world.
But why did the sects loot all of the remaining Qie family properties and treasures? They didn't set up a memorial or anything but just looted their family wealth like a group of bandits.
Not only that but when he returned to the Zhao sect his position was given to someone else. Fearing that he would retaliate and find out they had robbed his deceased family they kicked him out in a polite manner.
Out of all of these people, the only person who seemed to give a damn about him was Zhao Zhi who guarded him despite having broken the rules of his yao clan. Yet this Taoist priest dared to call him monster and evil amongst many things.
"Sect leader Qie, regardless of your personal feelings for this yao I still have a job to do. To uphold good and eliminate evil. And you are standing in my way," said the Taoist priest with a darkly expression. This had escalated from a simple war on words to a full-blown provocation with an intense smell of gun powder in the air. Machu and Shao Lan had already assumed a stance ready for war while Dai Yu was checking her range of weapons to see which one would be perfect to cut out the tongue of the mouthy one. They heard everything said and were curious about Zhao Zhi but right now wasn't the right time to gossip.
They trusted Qie Ranzhe's judgement so whatever the bald donkey said it came in through one ear and out the next as they stood with their sect leader.
"Are you going to leave by yourself or do you need my help?" asked Qie Ranzhe in a spine chilling tone with those fierce eyes glaring at the Taoist priest. It had been a long time since he kicked some righteous prick's ass and this Taoist priest made a perfect candidate.
"Hahahahaha! That's, tha-....," replied the Taoist priest but he couldn't even finish his taunt when a swift blade swung in his direction almost slicing through his already bald head. That is to say, if he had long hair it would have been chopped off right now.
The Taoist priest dodged taking out a pair of gold rings with the circumference of a frisbee. The rings appeared harmless at first that is until spikes with jagged edges appeared on the surface covering the entire circumference of the ring.
Having dodged the sect leader's fierce attack, the priests leapt up in the air with his baggy garment flattering with the wind. With a clanging sound, the rings were sent in Qie Ranzhe's direction who had left the safety of the barrier at some point.
The Taoist priest was a rank below nascent soul but because of his divine artefacts bestowed to him by the heavens, it made them evenly matched. The other monks dared not play fair. In this world, it was better to eliminate evil than hold on to one's ego.
They planned on joining the fight and subdue the unruly sect leader but how could the Qie sect disciples let that happen. Dai Yu took out a crimson whip from the hide of a rare high-level spiritual beast with its tip embellished with rolls of gemstones that rip out one's flesh as soon as it gets into contact with skin.
A loud cracking sound of a whip caught the attention of the monks who were rushing to assist the Taoist priest. "If you want to get to him you have to go through me first," she said with a sly smile on her scarlet red lips. She exited the barrier and flung her whip at the monks tearing at their skin like it was nothing.
"Ah, do you think we should..... cause I mean it looks like she's got this, right?" said Machu cringing at the sight of the blood.
Shao Lan shook his head and left the confines of the barrier to fight. Machu shrugged his shoulders and said to Zhao Zhi, "You stay and will take care of this," before taking out his velvet folding fan with the characters god of war inscribed on it.
Wen Qinxi, "....."
"It's just a fuckin folding fan.... oh shit!" he said after witnessing what a fuckin folding fan could do in Machu's hands. The weapon was as deadly as Dai Yu's whip with the only difference being that her whip created a bloody scene.
The fan wasn't gory it was rather a silent killer attacking one's soul breaking them from within. Wen Qinxi was thinking of going to check on Qie Xieling since this team of assassins seemed to have things under control.
That is until he sensed some fluctuation in the barrier. His brows creased as his line of sight followed the direction from which the fluctuation was coming from. Unable to shake off the feeling that something was wrong he leapt up in the sky only to find that last harem member at the edge of the barrier with a bunch of monks.
The girl was the same girl who wormed her way into Qie Ranzhe's bed but failed. It seemed she had graduated to betraying the sect colluding with the enemy.
Let's delve deeper into this cannon fodder's life. Maybe if one knows her story they could understand why she risked everything to do this. Her name was Mingxia meaning bright halo. One would assume with such a pretty name she would be shining with a beautiful life that left one envious but that wasn't the case.
