Chapter 439: FIfth World: Fed Dog Food Unknowingly
Chapter 439: FIfth World: Fed Dog Food Unknowingly
A sweet feeling spread all over Wen Qinxi's chest hearing that. His baby was so sweet when he did such things.
These honeyed words had a peculiar reaction to Dai Yu. She felt something was wrong but couldn't put her finger on it. It was like she been fed dog food unknowingly.
The same words had the two women shudder as they called out to the sect leader pleading with him. Unable to stand the high pitched wails, Qie Ranzhe turned to leave as he had much more important things to do.
"You heard him right? Then from now on the Qie sect has no relation to you so get the fuck out!" said Wen Qinxi appointing himself as judge, jury and executioner.
Everyone was shocked questioning Zhao Zhi's relationship with their sect leader including Shao Lan.
All except Qie Xieling and Machu had some idea on why Zhao Zhi possessed such a staggering amount of power. Machu didn't know the details but he wasn't blind. He had noticed a peculiar tension between the two which meant there was more to the story.
"Sect Leader," mumbled Shao Lan in concern. He also thought it wasn't a good idea to give an outsider this much authority which is why he called out to him.
Qie Ranzhe's steps paused but didn't look back saying, "Whatever he says goes," before walking away.
Wen Qinxi grinned before taking full advantage of the blank cheque he had just received. This sly grin made the harem members quiver. Something big was about to happen.
"You are expelled and as for you," he said addressing the older sister, "Your services are no longer required so you can follow your sister out of the sect." Talk about given an inch and he takes a mile, right?
Dai Yu choked on her saliva at his words. Yes sure, the girl had called her aunt and tried to seduce her nephew but what did that have to do with the older sister? This was a perfect example of abuse of power.
It was at this moment that the other harem members understood the meaning behind Zhao Zhi's grin. That grin was basically saying, "You are next."
They were about to stage a protest and defend her when Zhao Zhi beckoned Shao Lan over. Once he heard the request his brows furrowed but recalling what Qie Ranzhe said earlier he calmly took out a bag of silver and placed it on the table.
Wen Qinxi glanced at the bag then at Shao Lan. Understanding his meaning Shao Lan sighed and added another then another bag but the older sister wouldn't stop crying. 'Driving a hard bargain I see,' he thought before gesturing to Shao Lan to take bag two bags.
This had the crocodile tears vanishing in an instant. "I will take it. Give it to me," she said changing the colour of her strips in an instant.
"This is your compensation you just have to sign a blood vow that you will have nothing to do with the Qie sect from now on. If you as so much as return here a bolt of heavenly lightning will smite you," explained Wen Qinxi. He had already come up with this plan a long time ago in a project known as 'operation getting rid of the harem members' which was taking effect as of that moment.
The compensation was a hefty amount attractive to anyone. Besides, they had no future with the sect leader so why not? Wen Qinxi concluded his business with the harem member and asked, "Anyone else?" Let's just say that Qie Ranzhe lost a lot of money that day though his wealth was like an infinite spring that never dried out.
"You will have twenty-four hours to get your stuff ready and you will be escorted back to your home towns," explained Wen Qinxi feeling like a true boss. Like he said before he doesn't like sharing and couldn't tolerate a third wheel nor fourth, fifth, etc wheels.
Dai Yu watched with great interest as Zhao Zhi acted like an imperial consort that had just been promoted to empress and received the empress seal. This scene was especially interesting.
For whatever reason, a lot of the women were convinced and took the compensation all but one. Zhao Zhi didn't know her name but he didn't care either. She was most likely taking chances and hoping that with all the women gone she would stand a better chance.
"Last chance," he said staring at her with a piercing gaze.
Of course, she shook her head in refusal but Zhao Zhi wasn't deterred. He had confidence in his own abilities so he stood up to leave without saying another word.
"Congratulations for becoming a spinster for life," said Dai Yu as she stood up to find other entertaining things to do, "Xieling, let's go find your aunt something to eat." She wrapped her arms around Qie Xieling and dragged him along.
"I am terrified of Zhao Zhi now..... It's like he has his claws deep into one of the world's most powerful men," explained Shao Lan feeling rather bemused.
Machu patted his shoulder in comfort but as soon as they got to the table he recalled one crucial thing. His bet with Dai Yu over what sort of reaction Qie Ranzhe would have when he wakes up right beside Zhao Zhi.
Dai Yu resolutely believed that he would freak out but judging from their interactions earlier he did anything but freak out. Now it was time to pay the piper. He beckoned with his fingers to have Dai Yu give him the spirit stones but Dai Yu decided to play dumb.
"What are you talking about?" she asked putting her feet up on a nearby chair.
"You lost so give it up," he said but she didn't respond so he turned to Qie Xieling, "Xieling, how was your dad's reaction when he woke up this morning?"
It was then that Dai Yu began to panic. Yes, she knew she had lost once she saw Qie Ranzhe's attitude this morning. Something fishy was definitely going on but she didn't want to admit she lost that many spirit stones.
Qie Xieling didn't even raise his head with his entire focus on the breakfast set on the table. "Oh, he hugged Shixiong even tighter and pretended like he was still asleep," explained Qie Xieling before pulling a bowl of rice congee towards himself.
Clunk! Crash!
Was the sound of dropped cutlery and a bowl crashing to the floor. This had Qie Xieling raising his head. "Oh and you all lost the bet about who left that lip hickey on my father..... it was Zhao Zhi and since I bet none of the people in the harem it means I win."
Dai Yu, "Shit!"
"Oh for heaven's sake that's insider trading. You must have known something that we didn't," complained Machu.
Shao Lan, "...."
His three views were most certainly shuttered in a single morning.
