Chapter 349 Tedious Fight
Thanks to the opportunity Xu Feng had created through his meticulous maneuver, Carmen successfully destroyed the final silvery symbol, causing the Stalker to shriek in agony.
Its dull body started to glow in redness, and Xu Feng quickly shouted, "Launch all your attacks now!"
Shortly after his shout, Xu Feng also used Nether Blast, dealing damage to the Stalker's current vulnerable state.
Carmen and Crimson Heart didn't idle either as they decisively launched their strongest attacks.
30 seconds later though, the redness of the Stalker's body gradually returned to its dim color. Following that were the 7 bright silvery symbols emerging in the Chasm Stalker's body.
Silence consumed the atmosphere, with both Carmen and Crimson Heart being speechless by the scene.
Previously, they were focused on launching their deadly attacks, so they didn't pay attention to the health bar. However, after seeing how the Stalker seemed to reset to its original state, they decided to take a glance at it.
And once they did, they quickly regretted their decision, given the health bar had only decreased by a pitiful amount of 10 percent.
After all those works and damage, they were told that the damage was only 10 percent of the Chasm Stalker's overall health bar?
Was this a boss-type monster?
"Guild Leader, when can we kill this monster?" Carmen twitched her brows, seemingly losing hope.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng remained quiet after seeing their reaction.
'I should probably conceal the fact that it could regenerate every 2 minutes.' Xu Feng thought to himself.
At their current rate, killing the Stalker was possible, but that required them to be extremely precise with their attacks.
Additionally, they needed to ensure the damage dealt was 10 percent minimum every time the Stalker became vulnerable. Otherwise, no matter how much damage they dealt, it won't be enough to kill the Stalker.
"No need to brood over its health bar. Just follow my lead and strike when I create the opening." Xu Feng commanded, kicking the ground softly and propelling himself away.
After all, the Stalker had never once stopped its relentless assault.
As time slowly passed by, it became evident that Xu Feng's movement was slowing down and was getting hit more often than he would have liked.
'This is really like that kind of game where you have to dodge in time to avoid getting one shot from the boss.' Xu Feng panted heavily, his gaze scrutinizing every movement of the Stalker.
If it wasn't for its pattern-like attack that players could detect in time, then he would have been game over.
Another few seconds later, the Stalker managed to deal a whopping 40 percent of Xu Feng's health, but in response, Carmen successfully struck the last silvery symbol.
Without needing him to say anything, both Carmen and Crimson Heart began throwing everything they could at the now-vulnerable Stalker.
Xu Feng wasn't idle either. After healing himself, he activated Nether Blast and targeted its critical flesh points.
Just like that, the vulnerable Stalker was dealt with a little bit over 12 percent and soon recovered to its immune state toward magical attack.
"I swear… this is going to be a memory for me once I get stronger." Carmen pursed her lips and exclaimed. "Once I get stronger, I'll definitely come back here and demolish these Chasm Stalkers to vent."
Crimson Heart didn't say much, but from her expression alone, it was clear that she had pretty much the same thought process as Carmen.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng was rendered speechless by Carmen's declaration.
'Sure enough, she got the mindset of every hardcore gamer who sought revenge once stronger.' Xu Feng inwardly thought. The reason why he could sympathize with her thoughts was because he was the same type of person as well.
The monsters who caused him the most headache and trouble early on, he made sure to go back to them and commit a bloodbath to vent his frustration.
"Alright, let's not get too distracted and resume this kind of formation." Xu Feng announced and switched with Crimson Heart, allowing her to do the tanking.
To tank the fight twice was already his limit, so Xu Feng needed to take a backseat this time to recover.
Naturally, during their fight, there were quite a few groups of NPCs that walked past them. They merely glanced at their party for a brief second before shaking their heads and moving along.
It was an unspoken rule that one was not allowed to interrupt a fight between an ongoing group or party. Otherwise, it was essentially a declaration of aggression or an attempt to kill steal (KS) the monster.
Such actions were frowned upon by everyone, and unless the fighting party was about to fall, there would be no assistance whatsoever.
Ignoring the passerby, Crimson Heart remained focused, avoiding the Stalker's attack, albeit very narrowly.
Just as she was about to land on the ground and attempt to move again, the ground beneath her cracked.
'Not good!' Taken by surprise by the sudden shift of balance, Crimson Heart was unable to react in time to dodge the attack.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"The terrain is getting softer from the constant assault." Xu Feng clicked his tongue upon seeing Crimson Heart fail to dodge the attack. To make things worse, it was a powerful attack but one that was quite slow and should have been in her capability to avoid it.
Since Crimson Heart was not invited to their guild team invite, given Xu Feng didn't plan on safeguarding her to begin with, he failed to detect her health bar had plummeted to zero from just one attack.
"What the heck?" Alarmed, Carmen was stunned to see Crimson Heart lying motionless on the ground. "She died just like that? And from a singular attack only?"
She was baffled and somewhat perplexed at the offensive power of the Chasm Stalker.
Previously, it had only managed to deal with around 30-40 percent of their health from each attack. Yet this particular one attack managed to zero out Crimson Heart's health bar completely.
"This is just some bullshit!" Carmen cried out.
