Chapter 209: Ironhide Behemoths
The Ironhide Behemoth was a massive, hulking creature covered in impenetrable, metallic scales. Its eyes glowed with a fierce, vicious light, and its roar could be heard echoing throughout the ravine.
They are highly territorial as they will aggressively defend their lair against any perceived threat. It would use its massive strength to crush rocks and create barriers, cornering its prey with ease. Explore more adventures at m,v l'-NovelBin.net
To fight against one of them, one needed to ensure they were well-equipped with high-defense gear. They also needed to scout the area beforehand to identify potential hazards and escape routes.
Additionally, they should utilize the narrow pathways to their advantage, having ranged attackers on higher ground while tanks or melee ranged fighters engaged the Behemoth directly.
However, all that information was for one Ironhide Behemoth, and not a group of Behemoths.
'Unbelievableā¦' Xu Feng furrowed his brows, wondering what the hell was wrong with this particular lair.
There were not just one Ironhide Behemoth, not two, and not three, but four massive Ironhide Behemoths at the front.
How were they supposed to implement that kind of strategy that was meant for a singular Ironhide Behemoth?
"C-Can we even kill one of them?" Carmen asked, her eyes widened in shock at the sight. Those massive Behemoths were practically teasing and daring her to make a move against them.
Jeff remained silent, clearly unsure of the matter himself.
As for Xu Feng, he simply adjusted his glasses with a calm expression. After regulating his emotions, he already thought of a few solutions.
Although it was indeed unexpected that there were four Ironhide Behemoths in a single lair, it wasn't that surprising either.
The Behemoth are known to be territorial, but there are some instances that monsters could form a family of their own.
From there, it was easy to detect that the two larger Behemoths were the parents whereas the smaller two were the children.
"Carmen, what do you think parents will do if one of their kids is taken hostage?" Xu Feng asked calmly.
"Huh? Of course, they would do whatever it takes to have their kid return to them safe and sound." Carmen answered instinctively.
However, in the next seconds, her face turned pale as she glanced at him. "You're not planning on kidnapping one of the smaller Behemoths, right?"
"Of course not," Xu Feng chuckled softly.
Relieved, Carmen patted her chest, but the very next moment, Xu Feng's next words nearly caused her to stumble.
"I plan on dividing both the kids from their parents." Xu Feng casually said. "That way, the parents would turn frantic and lose their composure. At that time, we can easily eradicate both the kids and parents."
"Agreed." Jeff nodded his head, finding the method to work wonderfully.
However, Carmen seemed to be hesitant based on her expression alone.
Luckily, it wasn't because of her good conscience saying it was immoral, but that she didn't find the method to be viable.
"It's easier said than done to separate them." She commented, taking a glance at the Behemoths' behavior. "The larger Behemoth is clearly putting a tight leash on the smaller one. Look at their movement."
Jeff stood still, silent about it. In contrast, Xu Feng was smiling awkwardly.
Obviously, he knew about that part from the start when announcing his plan, but if he harshly struck her down, then it might affect her confidence.
What he wanted was members who could critically think for themselves and be independent without his help. Otherwise, the guild he created would be just a one-man show, with only him being an actual threat and the rest are just mediocre.
Taking a mild approach in his response, Xu Feng nodded his head and continued, "What you said is logical, Carmen. However, I have a method to lure the younglings away from their parents."
"Really?" Startled, Carmen didn't expect Xu Feng to be that capable. After all, she had witnessed how the smaller Behemoths were obedient to their parents.
If they had moved even a little bit away from a certain range, the larger Behemoth would growl, prompting them to return to their position.
"Yes, really." Xu Feng calmly responded.
"How are you going to achieve it?"
"By luring it?"
"Yes, but what kind of method?" Carmen continued, "Don't get me wrong. I just wanted to learn more about how one can turn a disadvantageous situation into an advantageous one."
Nodding his head, he agreed with the logic, but agreeing and answering were two different matters.
"You can simply watch." Xu Feng smirked. "How much you can learn is dependent on you."
"Eh?" Baffled, Carmen couldn't understand the meaning. However, a few seconds later, she finally realized why Xu Feng refused to tell her.
She had yet to agree to join his guild, so why should he clarify or even answer her question? Pursing her lips, Carmen knew she was overboard with her question.
Seeing her pouting, Xu Feng remained stoic. If people thought a sad beauty was enough to make him change his mind, then they couldn't be any more wrong.
Ignoring her, Xu Feng proceeded to retrieve some of Raburle's corpses and scattered some particles on them.
Precisely, these were the same particles that he had used previously when baiting the Shadow Wolves out.
These particles emitted an aroma that was extremely tempting and hard to resist. The aroma only affected monsters, and it was enough to rile them up.
Sure enough, the original docile smaller Behemoths suddenly sniffed on their noses repeatedly. Drool began to seep out from the corner of their mouth, clearly smelling the fresh and aromatic fragrance from afar.
Alarmed, the larger Behemoths growled in an attempt to snap the smaller Behemoths out of their daze, but their resistance was feeble.
Instead of snapping out of their daze, they started advancing forward, almost as if their body had been taken control of.
"Jeff, use Dominion Rend on the top of the ceiling once they are distanced for at least 15 yards." Xu Feng quickly instructed Jeff, his expression flashing a cold grin.
