Chapter 39: The Construction Begins



Vincent unfurled a map and set it on the table where Alpha 1 viewed it with piqued interest. "Akarios Village is going to be our main headquarters. This will house all military infrastructures from the command center, radars, barracks, and armories to training grounds and supply depots," Vincent explained, pointing to various locations in the Akarios Village.

Alpha 1 nodded, following Vincent's fingers as they traced paths across the map. "This spot here," Vincent continued. "This is the town hall, and this is going to be refurbished into our central command center."

Vincent moved his finger to another location. "Here is where we'll build the barracks. It's close enough to the command center for quick mobilization, but far enough to ensure security. The armory will be adjacent to it, with reinforced walls and high-level security measures."

Alpha 1 studied the map closely. "What about the training grounds, sir?"

Vincent pointed to a large open area on the outskirts of the village. "The training grounds will be here. At the campsite that you have found near Felaria's Spore Road. It seemed to be a training ground already for the dwellers of this island, so why not just expand it out to the Deforested Area, that way the huge space can accommodate military hardware such as helicopters, vehicles, and even artillery. We'll have different zones for various types of training - close-quarters combat, firearms training, vehicle maneuvers, and large-scale drills."

Alpha 1 nodded, clearly impressed with the thoroughness of the plan. "What about the airfield, sir?"

Vincent pointed to a flat area to the west of the village. "We'll construct the airfield here, near the Akarios Plains. It's the most level ground we have, and it's close enough to the command center and barracks for rapid deployment. We'll also build hangars and maintenance facilities to keep our aircraft in top condition."

"And as for the naval facilities?"

"We will construct them in the Akarios Dockyard. We are going to expand it, make it accommodate larger vessels, and fortify it with the necessary defenses. This will be our hub for all naval operations, from patrols to large-scale maritime engagements," Vincent explained.

Alpha 1 gave a nod of approval. "That covers all major bases, sir. When do we start?"

"Immediately," Vincent said decisively.

"Well for starters we are going to need a lot of manpower, construction equipment, basically we lack almost every essential resource." Alpha 1 said.

"In that case, we are going to summon everything we need."

With that, Vincent opened his system. But before he browsed the system shop, he needed something first. That is to gain as much money as possible from the features of the system. The first thing he used was the ticket for the Wheel of Fortune. He still has one but he remembered he could purchase a ticket at the shop for ten thousand gold coins.

Without hesitation, he went to the shop, ignoring all the military equipment, personnel, and facilities for now, and focused on the ticket.

And seconds later, he found it.

"Wait what?" Vincent was surprised to see the note. It was not what he had expected. He thought he could cheat the system by purchasing a large quantity of tickets and then using those said tickets to earn experience points, gold coins, and other rewards. However, the system is smart enough to prevent such exploitation.

"Alright then, one ticket it is," Vincent muttered, purchasing the ticket.

He navigated back to the Wheel of Fortune interface and there he noticed the changes.

The rewards were significantly higher than before:

"Now this is more like it," Vincent muttered with a grin.

He used his two tickets. The first spin started, the wheel spun rapidly, and Vincent watched with anticipation. The wheel slowed down, finally landing on the "150,000 gold coins" section.

Vincent's system interface displayed the details of his winnings:

"Perfect," Vincent said, feeling the rush of satisfaction. The wheel started spinning for the second time. As it slowed down, Vincent held his breath. It landed on "300,000 gold coins."

Vincent couldn't believe his luck. This was exactly what he needed to kickstart their construction efforts.

Now with all that settled, it was time for shopping.

First, Vincent browsed the shop for military infrastructures. He searched for construction equipment, barracks, command centers, training facilities, and armories. As he navigated through the options, he found several prefabricated structures and equipment that could be delivered instantly.

He selected the following items:

engineers.

He confirmed the purchase and the engineers and construction crew materialized, ready for

orders.

Once all of that was sorted, Vincent walked out of the Town Hall and summoned those personnel he purchased. They emerged from the magic circle, looking professional and ready

to work.

"Welcome, everyone," Vincent addressed the newly arrived teams. "You will all be the ones responsible for constructing our base here in the Akarios Islands. You have my full support.

Whatever you need, tell me."

After that, Vincent summoned all the construction equipment that they'd use for the

construction.
