Vol. 11 - Chapter 551 - Prince Yuri? No, Just Yurius.
"Oh, yes. Feel free to call me Yurius."
Well, you don't mind, but we do. Macros quietly murmured inside his heart.
Arriving at the venue, Leviella and Macros had just spotted some free seats for themselves when, in an unexpected turn, they found the very crown prince of the Shiatona Kingdom—Yurius.
Macros knew him well enough to be at least on acquaintance level if anything. He had often accompanied Prince Yurius to a swordsmanship training. While he had «Mage» lineage job himself, Macros loved to train in sword just as much, and so, since his status was not far from a pure «Swordsman», he would spar with Yurius.
But, even if they're not complete strangers, Macros was awfully perplexed to encounter him out in the wild out of mere coincidence. Nonetheless, he had just as much of an urge to ask why he was out here, concealing himself, moreso without his escorts. But he didn't.
Leviella's eyes slightly widened at the sudden encounter, but she recovered from her perplexment almost immediately and sat down next to Prince Yuri.
"Understood. Then, excuse me, I will take the adjacent seat. Macros, you shouldn't stand for too long."
"...Y-Yes, Ma'am! Excuse me."
"Now, you don't have to be that formal. I am here, trying to steal myself from other's eyes."
'Well, true enough. It would be a ruckus if others come to know.' Macros guessed internally, still marvelling at how out of all place, and when the audience's seat was so packed, they somehow appeared next to him.
Macros's expression squeezed tight when he thought how absurd that was. All the excitement he had for the match instead evaporated into nothingness, leaving behind only nervousness.
Prince Yuri should've felt his nervousness as he sported a wry smile and quietly whispered out, as if he was gossiping.
"As I said, consider me air. Just focus on the match. Oh, look, they're about to take down another base."
Ignoring the inner turmoil of the two, who had been having this desire to ask him why he was being so sneaky, Prince Yuri instead urged the two to focus on the match.
—Another base is about to fall.
Leviella and Macros's gaze immediately turned toward the arena.
They saw Class-1 was coming toward Class-7's base. The barricade Class-7 had raised, which must have cost them quite a fortune, were breached, with the traps broken. Without anymore of their tricks, Class-7 just had no way out to calm the approaching storm.
"This would make the third base of Class-1. Impressive, truly. It's not that easy to bring them down typically, but they have it covered well. It's not just their training. Their elite's job's level has been raised to an extremely high level. Moreover, their strategy is nothing short of impeccable."
"............"
Prince Yuri's made it appear Class-7 was a gone deal. The word of praise surprised the two. Leviella poured her attention on the situation breaking out in the Class-7 base to grasp the details.
But of course, the two had already known about Class-1's achievement. So they completely believed in Prince Yuri's judgement. And indeed, it turned out just as he had guessed.
The squad led by Brave made short work of Class-7. And with the follow up attack on their base, they had the Class-7 base in their base.
Amidst the raid, some of members of Class-7 saw they\d no prospect and attempted self-destruction, but they barely put a dent in the situation. As much one would like to credit them, they were just not cut to be Class-1's opponent.
The audience around was instantly enveloped with cheerful shouts, and on the screen, Class-1's total score count hit a staggering 1000 points.
It was five minutes top in which all this happened.
Macros watched the match with a keen interest. As much as he even forgot the presence of Prince Yuri anymore. He watched the young «Brave»—well, the class he was guiding, to see if he could learn anything from them, almost forgetting his surroundings. It was quite a U-turn from his earlier nervous attitude.
Leviella showed a wry expression at Macros, and turned to Princess Yuri.
"Yu—I mean, Yurius-dono. We have just arrived, so if it's not much, I would like to hear how they performed until then."
Leviella asked as she gazed at the huge screen, at the points count.
Candidness had started to appear in her speech as she talked with Prince Yuri. She adapted quite quickly, but it wasn't a surprise give their past contact. Much like Macros, Prince Yuri had often joined in training of «Royal Court Sorcerers». Often time they talked with more frankness. Leviella then was vice-commander, plus as the daughter of the duke house, she often was the partner of Prince Yuri to discuss things.
"I guess, I should start from the beginning then huh."
It should've been preposterous to bother a prince for such mundane matter.Though given their friendship, and easy-going nature of Prince Yuri, neither cared about that much. Plus Yurius found it fun to talk about the situation as well.
"The beginning move was played by Class-1, Class-4, and Class-37. The other classes had formed their alliances and undertaken different actions. Interesting part was when Class-37 raided the base of Class-99, Class-4 appeared suddenly and joined the fray. Meanwhile, Class-1 appeared from behind to catch Class-4 unaware, opening a four-way battle."
Leviella tried to imagine how that scenario must have appeared to be, and harboured an intricate expression.
A huge war right off the bat was probably one of the last things she had ever imagined. From a strategic viewpoint, one should've started with locating enemies, then gathering information about them, and after grasping the details about all the bases then once comes up with their strategy. They would've assessed their opponent's strength, considered if it was worth sticking their head to challenge some class, and accordingly move around.
But, she heard Class-1 and Class-4 instead carried out a surprise attack. She was sure it must have been an impromptu act from both. After opening up a four-pronged war, it should've been an intense royal rumble. They would surely have some of their forces. Though, on the other hand, she felt for the pitiful Class-99 who was caught up in the centre of the mess.
However Prince Yuri swiped away Leviella's imagination.
"In the end—Class-1 emerged victorious with near perfect shape."
Leviella was shaken by the information, and dropped her gaze at the Class-1 en-route to their base.
Prince Yuri continued.
"The move made by Class-1 was simple. The leader Brave Zephyr, Knight Ester, Cat-kin Karua each tackled and slayed respective leaders in close combat. It got Class-4 all panic as they scurried out of the battlefield. Class-99's base turned to Class-1 ultimately, who then used that opportunity to shot down the base of Class-37 that was nearby. Ofcourse, they didn't fail here either."
Macros and Leviella were shocked to the core.
To defeat the leader. It was easy to say, but just as inversely ridiculous to achieve it was.
A class's leader was often the strongest pillar among the class, their guide to say the least. Chaos was inevitable if they're shot down. This had been why the defense of the leader was always tightened. A wrong move. and it would be the attacker getting smacked up.
Meanwhile, Class-1 tried that on three classes at the same moment, and achieved it. Prince Yuri commented.
In fact, one leader braving toward the opponent's leader was by no means any conventional approach.
A line of cold sweat streaked down Leviella's head.
"Their steps are quite bold, I must say."
“Well, as they say, if the result is fine, then other things hardly matter. I must say, I was at the edge of my seat whole time. It's been a long while since I saw such heated development."
Prince Yuri appeared delighted as he recounted. The result that broke through all barriers of common sense, conventional ways, and action left a long-lasting result.
Anyone would've been spellbound by the match, much like Prince Yuri.
"......"
After hearing from Prince Yuri, Leviella recalled the excited appearance of Macros when he was back after attending Braves' lecture.
She herself had barely any impression of Brave so far, but the more she heard, the more he resembled Brave from fables. A walking unprecedented, renewing a whole lot of aspects.
As Leviella continued to hear about the follow up development, a thought struck her, prompting her to ask Prince Yuri.
"So, why are you out here, sneaking around, Yurius-dono?"
She had tried to ignore it, but the bubbling curiosity at last spurred her to ask.
"...Err, well, the vibe of reserved seats are anything but suitable to engross in a match. I wouldn't have managed to watch it as peacefully as I am right now..."
So Prince Yuri tried to justify himself, however the slurring of words sold him out. And having become acquainted with him, Leviella guessed the real cause.
"You couldn't be still... caught in a cold war against Her Highness Lana, are you?"
"Ugh."
A groan slipped out of Prince Yuri's mouth, crumbling the dignified persona he had created.
The doubt was clear for Leviella at that point. She knew since a well Prince isn't in quite good terms with his little sister, Her Highness Lana from Class-1.
To conclude, all that sneaky act, shirking escorts from accompanying and all were not to steal eyes from others, but mainly to keep a low profile from Her Highness Lana. Or atleast, this was definitely the greatest part of it.
Of course, he couldn't bring that topic up. Instead, he spoke of another reason.
"Ahem, my trip is for more than that. Have you heard of it? The rumoured Brave has acquired an advanced job?"
"Advanced job of «Brave»?"
The exclamation had come from Macros. His eyes widened as much as saucers. Though this allows Leviella to suppress her astonishment.
"Are rumours credible?"
"I would say, pretty much. But above all, the question is which one? One of my tasks is to figure it out."
"I see."
Leviella showed an understanding expression as she nodded.
Brave advent. The birth of Brave comes with all sorts of rumours in the royal capital. Whispers often travel around in a place like this.
—Brave job appears at the time when a crisis is imminent in the world.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
This had been a mythical legend. Know to every person around.
In the time of antiquity, as the myth goes, when the continent was littered with monsters, Brave appeared riding on a dragon, and along with Saintess, he saved the world. It was quite a hackneyed tale. The end of tales come as Brave and Saintess tied knot of marriage at the end.
Royal family believe the tale wasn't a man's making, but a true one. They couldn't pinpoint which era, but there was no doubt. Brave had saved them once.
There was no saying what the appearance of «Brave» entails. So, he had been a target of constant observation. But if the rumours are true—the observation would surely be tightened around.
"The same goes for Lana."
"Hmm, what about Her Highness Lana?"
"Lana might have acquired an advanced job too."
"Excuse me?!"
Leviella couldn't contain her befuddlement this time.
"If my memory serves me right, Her Highness Lana had «Saintess» job. What has she acquired?!"
Leviella promptly asked. She couldn't contain herself. Words were that one of the advanced jobs of «Saintess» actually outpaced even the legend itself.
If rumours were to be relied on, it could also pave the path for advanced dungeon exploration. A legend among myth itself—«Seraphic Saintess».
Their princess would become the most precious jewel of the world should she have it. Leviella couldn't even begin to imagine the situation. She would surely be held in high regard, but... her life might also be spent mostly in clearing out dungeons.
"I'm still investigating. But I guess, It's about time I patch up with her."
T\N : Heya, everyone. How do you do? I hope you’re all doing fine. So, recently we’ve decided to throw a small challenge in the wake of holidays—rating milestone challenge. As of now, there’re 170 ratings in the Novelupdate, and the goal is to hit 200 marks (You can give any rating, it’s not a bribe xD). The duration is 14 days.
At the completion of the challenge, 4 additional chapters will be released for the week. So give it a try~.
And on a not so related note, It has been some time since I was thinking, ~~though my procrastination often kicks in~~, it’s about the short stories author released in light novels. Below are the list of side stories, titles are tentative for now, so choose any of two and I will release them during the holiday season.
Or, would you like to see Hannah’s side story? That would be four chapters from her side. (It just happened that I was waiting for the summer timeline to end in the main vol, since stuff in her vol had spoilers, not that it matters much here?)
You can upvote either of the comments which one you want to see.
The duration for this is one week (can’t stretch or chapters wouldn’t be ready by then).

v4 -
I was thinking of having comment with side story upvote, and count from there which one to do. But that's gonna fill the comment section and too much hassle. I will create a poll or something. So until then, do upvote if you want side story or Hannah's story in """"comment section"""". (Either of them are excluding our rating milestone challenge.)
