Chapter 191 Loyalty Is Only For The Dog (III) [Revised]
Sheila gritted her teeth as she watched Izzy and her men raise their weapons. She knew her actions would spark a showdown, but she didn't expect the situation to escalate to this extent.
"Don't blame me, Sheila. You chose this," Izzy said.
Izzy was dead serious. There was no hesitation on her face at all. Her men stepped forward, dragging their weapons on the ground. The creaking between the iron and the castings created tension between them.
Naturally, Sheila stepped back, but her steps stopped when she bumped into Klaus.
"Boss." She bit her lip as she looked at her boss. Her face said she was sorry, making a mess of the situation.
"I know," Klaus replied.
He then stepped forward, facing dozens of gangsters ready to take his life. However, Izzy stopped approaching.
"Scram, brat," he said. "Don't make me add another dead man."
Klaus chuckled. "There's no way I'm going to stand by when I find out you're going to kill my men."
"This motherfucker," Izzy muttered, annoyed. "Just because you were born into a wealthy family, doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. Go to Morgan's nanny while I'm still being kind."
"If I don't want to?" Klaus asked.
Clicking her tongue, Izzy couldn't believe what she had just heard. She then snapped her fingers, and the gangsters quickly scattered to the various areas.
Finding herself surrounded, Sheila instinctively grabbed her boss by the shoulders. She had probably seen a lot of battles when she worked for the CIA. However, everything felt different when she was in that situation.
While Sheila was overcome with panic, Klaus seemed unaffected in the slightest. He was as calm as the surface of a lake. He was grinning, as if he had been looking forward to this situation.
"You can still smile?? You think your parents' money can save you? You idiot," Izzy snarked.
Klaus chuckled. "Sometimes, yes. You don't know what it's like when you have a lot of money. Trust me, it's like you're living in easy mode."
"What a freak," Izzy muttered. "You'll die by your own weapon. Kill them all!"
As soon as the order was spoken, the gangsters screamed simultaneously, signaling the inevitable start of the battle. Sheila closed her eyes, and clasped her hands tighter and tighter. She could only surrender, leaving everything to Klaus.
Of course, Klaus would not let her down.
Reaching into his pocket, he secretly grasped his hidden weapons. When the gangsters were two or three steps away from landing their weapons, Klaus withdrew his hand, and four metal spheres shot out.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
"Argh!"
The gangsters who were in the front row suddenly screamed in pain. In the back row, the other gangsters twisted their faces in confusion.
"What happened?" A gangster wondered to himself.
One by one, the gangsters fell like leaves falling from a tree. The metal spheres crashed and bounced, moving from one to another at a speed that could not be captured by the eye. They left no trace other than the whistling wind.
Watching her men fall, Izzy dropped her jaw. She thought this fight would end quickly. But who would have thought that the rich man's son in front of her had a surprise.
"What the hell is going on?" she muttered, astonished.
As she tried to digest the situation, a feeling of dejavu rose in her chest. She felt like she had seen this before. It felt very familiar. Not long after, her eyes opened wide.
"No way!"
This situation reminded her of when she first met Morgan. Just like this time, her men suddenly fell one by one as if an invisible object had hit them. After they used their full strength, she finally found out that her enemy used a metal sphere the size of a ping-pong ball to defeat half of her men.
"This motherfucker! He is Morgan!" said Izzy.
Dax furrowed his brow. "Huh? Are you sure!"
"I'm a hundred percent sure! It's definitely her! There's no mistaking it."
Dax still looked confused. "What? How is that possible?"
"Arcana! It's arcana, Dax!" Izzy frustratingly explained the situation to her right hand. "Did you forget? He's the one who supplies our weapons! If he has these arcanas, it's not impossible that he has face-changing one!"
Naturally, Dax was wide-eyed. A similar expression was also seen on Zee. She gritted her teeth, enduring the pain of her hair being pulled.
They got a job to catch Zee from Morgan. However, the guy who showed up was not the usual one. Of course, Izzy was suspicious.
She knew that Sheila and Morgan worked for Klaus. It was not impossible that they would meet him someday. But it felt odd if the boss came down directly to meet the group of gangsters. Normally, rich people always send their men, especially when it comes to dirty work.
And to make matters more suspicious, instead of giving orders to drag Zee to an empty building or a harbor, the client asked them to bring the target to a public place where the crowd was.
It was the exact opposite of a kidnapping.
But still, Izzy decided to accept the job because Sheila was there. They got two mystic-grade arcana on the first job. Of course, there was no reason for them to refuse the second job in exchange for dozens of arcana. Moreover, it had the same interest, catching the person who killed their boss.
"No wonder, all this time I felt something was wrong. It turns out that brat is Morgan," said Izzy, annoyed.
Dax frowned. "But why did he do so?"
"I don't know. Since when do rich people have any sense?" Izzy clapped her hands together. "Let's kill him, Dax."
"Aye, aye. Ma'am."
An evil grin bloomed on her face.
Meanwhile, Klaus was busy with the small fries. He did not move an inch from his spot, just watched as his spheres subverted his enemy. Behind him, Sheila froze in fear.
"I'm sorry, boss. I shouldn't have messed up," Sheila muttered, trembling.
Klaus could feel the worry from his secretary. Her hands tightened on his shoulders.
He then flashed Sheila a warm smile.
"It's okay. It's just as I expected. You did your job very well," he said.
Naturally, Sheila twisted her face in confusion.
As she tried to digest his words, Klaus suddenly lifted her body and jumped back.
Bam!
A loud bang filled the entire alley.
Klaus, with Sheila in both hands, landed in a safe place just before the high-speed object slammed into them. His eyes were fixed on the brown dust that scattered in the air.
"You are a good actor, Morgan."
A voice rang out from within the puff of dust. Not long after, the particles blocking the view vanished, revealing a tomboyish woman in shiny gauntlets.
"Ordered to attack the gubernatorial candidate, then gave the task of capturing a psychopath. Who would have thought that these jobs would come from the son of a conglomerate who is not even 19 years old. Honestly, I am speechless."
"I see," Klaus replied casually. "Believe me, you're not the first person to wonder like this. There are many people like you."
Izzy chuckled. "Yeah, and I seem to be the last one."
As soon as she finished her words, Izzy disappeared from sight.
"Boss! Look out!" Sheila screamed.
Izzy with her incredible strength hit the ground with her iron gauntlet. The ground shook, the surrounding buildings trembled. Klaus swiftly lifted Sheila and jumped to avoid the violent shock.
When Klaus just landed, the spare metal sphere stored in his pocket, shook. Knowing what was going on, he quickly removed them.
As the metal spheres were threw, they returned to Klaus.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Klaus dodged an attack from his own weapon. His eyes fell on a green-haired man with a staff in his hand.
"Not bad," Dax said, grinning slyly.
At that moment, the rest of the gang rose with their arcana. One of them carried a light saber and swung it ferociously at Klaus. Klaus quickly dodged the attack. At the same time, he moved his finger, summoning all his metal spheres scattered in various corners.
Before Klaus had time to gather his weapons, another swung a mace that emitted a bright light, trying to obscure Klaus' vision.
"Close your eyes, Sheila," Klaus ordered.
At that moment, Klaus summoned any metal object in the vicinity and threw it forward. The sound of screaming echoed through the air as he closed his eyes.
Several people tried to attack him when blinding light filled the entire alley, but Klaus was expecting it.
Suddenly, a gang member appeared with a spear that radiated heat like the sun. Klaus quickly aimed his metal balls to hit the man.
Bam!
"Aarrgghh!"
Standing upright, Klaus faced dozens of awakeners with metal spheres spinning around him. He had defeated most of the gangsters, but the appearance of Izzy and Dax in battle changed the situation.
"Well, well. You don't seem to be an ordinary rich kid. Let's see how good you are," Izzy said.
The real battle began. Klaus had to face the gangsters armed with arcana of his creation.
