Reincarnated as the Son of Conglomerate

Chapter 220 Blood On The Hands (II)

Chapter 220 Blood On The Hands (II)

Seeing her friends lying helpless on the ground, Sylvia grew furious. Her hair floated, and her eyes blazed with anger. She didn't want to speak. However, it didn't intimidate Jacob; he actually taunted the women.

"Is there one rat left?" Jacob muttered. "Kill her!"

After the command was issued, his six henchmen pounced on Sylvia simultaneously.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

"Arrgghh!"

They fell to the ground in an instant. Naturally, Jacob was taken aback. He possessed the [Speed Force] ability, allowing his body to react swiftly. Not only did he move quickly, but his senses, metabolism, body recovery, and even reflexes were enhanced. He could see bullets advancing or read in seconds. However, he couldn't see what Sylvia was doing to his henchmen.

Something was happening beyond his comprehension.

"What are you doing to them?" Jacob said through gritted teeth.

Sylvia gave no response except for a look filled with hatred.

"You bitch!"

Thinking he was being underestimated, Jacob secretly accumulated mana energy throughout his body. Everything his senses perceived felt slow; dust particles, vibrations, and even sound. His entire body worked a million times faster than the world.

"I'll kill you, bitch!"

Swoosh!

Jacob shot forward at the speed of light. He was so fast that he was already in front of Sylvia before a millisecond had passed. He just had to deliver a blow directly to her jaw to end it quickly. However, a strange phenomenon disrupted his plan.

"Keough—What??!"

He was startled when he found his body couldn't move. Time seemed to stop around him, making him feel trapped in a world moving at an extremely slow pace. As he tried to understand the situation, Sylvia walked in front of him, as if she were completely unbound.

"I will make you pay for hurting my friends," she said.

Jacob widened his eyes.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

"Arrgghh!"

Sylvia launched relentless punches on Jacob. Each blow that landed on his abdomen felt like a stabbing sword. It was excruciating, and Jacob could do nothing but wait for this torment to end.

Suddenly, time returned to normal.

Splat!

Jacob spat out blood as his body was thrown against a tree. As everything returned to normal, he felt the impact of the punches. His stomach throbbed, and the pain spread throughout his body.

"Damn it!" Jacob cursed, breathing heavily and gasping for air.

He didn't know his opponent could manipulate time. No one had informed him of this before. If he had known there was a human surpassing monsters, he would have approached things differently. At this moment, he couldn't run, even though he was the fastest man that ever lived.

"How am I going to face her?"

As Jacob pondered how to defeat his opponent, he noticed something unusual about her. Sylvia appeared sweaty and out of breath, even though she had only attacked once. Jacob sensed something suspicious.

Then, a grin spread across his face.

Trembling, Jacob tried to rise, even though his body felt incredibly tired.

"Kill me! Bitch!" he shouted.

Naturally, it triggered her anger once again.

Time stopped, and Sylvia launched her next punches without mercy.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Gritting his teeth, Jacob endured the blows to his body. He had tensed his muscles before Sylvia manipulated time, so his body was prepared to withstand the damage. Still, the pain that pierced his skin and flesh was slow, as if he were being tortured slowly.

This fight was an endurance battle. Jacob knew that Sylvia was heavily exhausted before the battle even began. Every time Sylvia finished her punches, she sweated and breathed heavily, as if she had just run miles. Meanwhile, Jacob tried to stay on his feet and provoke her to keep attacking him.

"Is this all you've got, Sylvia? Your extraordinary power is only this much?" Jacob taunted. His abdomen and chest were bruised, and some of his bones were broken. But he tried to appear strong.

Sylvia ignored Jacob's taunts. She remained focused, gathering all the mana left in her body to stop time once again. At the same time, she began to get frustrated and wondered why her opponent wasn't faltering.

"Shut your mouth, and I'll beat you until you're dead!" Sylvia threatened, sounding serious.

"As if you can do it," Jacob jeered.

For the umpteenth time, Sylvia stopped time and launched a series of fists on her opponent.

Bam! Bam! Crack! Sylvia broke his ribs.

Bam! Bam! Splat! Jacob spat out blood.

Bam! Bam! Crack! Sylvia cracked his arm.

After eight thousand blows, Sylvia finally ran out of breath, her eyes rolling up, and her body collapsing to the ground. Meanwhile, Jacob still stood, though his eyes were bleeding.

A grin spread across his face.

One person emerged as the winner, and Jacob was the one.

"Ha ha ha ha ha!"

Jacob let his laughter fill the night. He truly relished this victory. He hadn't landed a single punch, yet his opponent lay defeated on the ground. It was the most peculiar victory of his life.

However, the laughter abruptly stopped when a girl's voice interrupted. It came from behind him, and as Jacob turned, he found Joanna, holding a knife to him.

"Surrender, asshole! Or I'll stab you!" Joanna threatened. Though she said so, her voice trembled.

Of course, Jacob realized that Joanna was scared. Approaching the girl with confidence, he believed that Joanna wouldn't dare to harm him.

"What can a spoiled girl like you do? You're just a burden who happens to be able to heal people. Go, kill me."

Gritting her teeth, Joanna screamed and ran quickly, with clear intent to stab Jacob.

"Idiot," he muttered.

As she neared him, a man emerged from the shadows and stopped her actions. Joanna's face showed confusion as she saw the man holding her hand.

"Edward?" Joanna murmured.

Edward simply put a poker face. He then said, "I'm sorry, Joanna."

Naturally, the golden-haired girl furrowed her brow.

Bam!

Edward struck her neck, causing Joanna to faint. He looked at Jacob and said, "You seem battered, Jacob. I thought you'd easily finish them off."

Hearing the sarcasm, Jacob snorted. "Believe me, you wouldn't want to face that woman once you know her talent."

Edward narrowed his eyes as he glanced at Sylvia lying on the ground. Though the battle between Jacob and Sylvia seemed to have lasted for hours, it had only taken a few seconds. Edward couldn't comprehend what had happened.

Meanwhile, Jacob picked up the sunglasses that lay on the ground. One of its lenses was broken, but he still wore it.

"So, what did you get from them? And what's Klaus's next plan?" Edward asked.

Jacob sighed in frustration. "They didn't give anything. Their leader, Justin, kept his mouth shut while I tried to persuade him, but I lost patience, and it ended up like this."

"So basically, you messed it all up?"

Suddenly, Jacob grabbed Edward's collar and gave him an angry stare.

"Listen, kid. Watch your words while I still have answers. Breaking your neck is an easy thing," he threatened.

But Edward didn't flinch at all. He squeezed Jacob's hand and removed it from his collar. "Calm down. I know your adrenaline is surging. But remember who our enemy is."

Taking a deep breath, Jacob tried to clear his mind. "Yeah, you're right."

After the tension began to ease, the ringing tone of a smartlink caught both of their attention. It came from Justin. Jacob immediately approached and took the device from him. Then, a grin spread across his face.

"From whom?" Jacob asked.

"From one of Klaus's henchmen who accompanied him."

Jacob smiled at Edward. "I've got a great plan."

Naturally, Edward raised one of his eyebrows.

...

Klaus clenched his fists when he heard Jacob's voice. Even Olivia could read his mood through his face. She knew something bad was happening.

"Tell me, where are you now?" Jacob said calmly but with a threatening tone.

Klaus listened carefully as Jacob spoke. When Jacob mentioned his little sister as a hostage, Klaus felt his blood boil. It was his greatest weakness, and he was genuinely enraged to the point where a black aura unintentionally emanated from his body. His three subordinates swallowed nervously, the powers that Klaus had kept hidden until now.

However, Klaus tried to remain composed. He took a deep breath and said, "I'm in the elf village."

Jacob fell silent for a moment, processing the information. Then, his piercing voice sounded again from the SmartLink, "Where, exactly?"

But Klaus refused to give a specific location until he knew his friends' condition. He wanted to ensure they were safe first, especially Joanna. The SmartLink was silent for a moment, but then Klaus heard Joanna's agonizing cries in the background.

"Klaus! Klaus! Klaus! Don't listen to him! Argh—!"

This only made Klaus angrier, and the dark aura within his body grew thicker. Olivia and Michael suddenly struggled to breathe.

"If you touch her, I will make you see things worse than hell," Klaus whispered, his tone soft but piercing.

After gauging Klaus's reaction, Jacob finally offered terms for the release of his friends.

"I will send you the coordinates, and meet me there."

"You—"

Beep.

Before Klaus could ask further questions, the call was suddenly disconnected.

Klaus vented his anger by squeezing a branch, and it decayed and turned to dust within seconds. Jacob, Gavin, and Michael held their breaths as they witnessed him. In their minds, they wondered, who was Klaus really?
