Chapter 46: 2nd Quest of Specialised Class Series
"What did you get?" Lily asked before adding with a downcast smile. "I got a measly D-rank skill: Water Palm..."
"It wasn’t that bad for me, but nothing impressive," Almond said as he shared his skill with the duo. "Anyway, once we reach 50 points in Focus and Perception, we might be able to improvise these skills, so all skills are welcome."
"True," Lily nodded while looking at her status in the quest section. "Well, it’s time to start with our final ordeal here."
"Yes!" Natalia said as she remembered it, her expression turning somber. "You two gotta help me, alright? I heard discussing such stuff can give us ideas."
"That’s not wrong," Almond faintly smiled. "Alright, let’s settle your skill first. I already have an idea of mine, which I will expand my way."
"Same," Lily said before adding with a chuckle. "Let’s fill up Nat’s empty brain first."
"Hey!"
…
After discussing for ten minutes…
"So, I have to imagine an orchestra of different instruments, all releasing different kinds of powers, giving buffs, and debuffs…." Natalia muttered.
Lily and Almond nodded.
Natalia’s class name was Chaosbound Serenador.
Imagining a mystical array of instruments with all-around effects in combat seemed suitable to the name.
To give it more substance, Almond said, "Natalia, imagine these chaotic instruments facing a horde of monsters all around you. You are alone with your array of mystical instruments produced from your skills."
"Image all kinds of effects and attacks. Destructive sound waves of various shapes. Sound-based infiltrative effects like causing Sleep, Shock, confusion, Charm, and everything you can think of."
"The goal is to just imagine without limitation about what your first class skill can do, based on your class’s name."
Natalia closed her eyes and began imagination, entering deep focus.
Lily smiled, "This should be more than enough. I can’t think of anything else related to her class."
"Yeah," Almond cracked his neck and sat straight as he closed his eyes, "We should also start now."
Lily nodded and closed her eyes as well.
Both of them had ideas of what they wanted to explore with their class’s name.
Almond’s class name was the most peculiar, but he had the imagination to stretch it open.
’Riftveil Grimblade… A grimblade . An unplesant blade.’
’A grimblade that can cut anything. Create a rift between anything. Not just physically, but ethereally, mentally…’
’Yes. A grimblade that can cut off connections between powers, between people.’
’A grimblade that can cut off emotions. A blade that cuts off anger, happiness, excitement, sadness, all emotions from someone…’
’A grimblade that cuts off a mana flow of someone’
’A grimblade that brings the most unpleasant experience onto someone.’
’I have to add Veil in the equation too. A veil…a cover, a blade that can uncover anything…unveil anything.’
Almond was in trans as he started imagining everything possible.
’A grimblade that sees through mysteries. A grimblade that rifts through any veil.’
’A grimblade that creates a veil to preserve everything I have cut…for my benefit.’
’A grimblade that cuts off enemy’s strength and veils it…for myself? It should be possible. No. This must be possible.’
’My grimblade must cut through the world, cut through the material plane and spiritual planes if they exist.’
’My grimblade must open the veil of mystery of myriad existences so I can explore them for myself.’
Almond’s mind was in overdrive as he was fully absorbed in exploring the imagination he could make with his class.
Time passed, and half an hour passed when he was done.
Almond decided to encompass everything he had imagined into a single skill, naming it…Grimblade Art: the Paradox of Riftveil.
’Submit.’
[You have submitted your imagined skill to portray the potential you see in your class.]
[Evaluating….]
Almond opened his eyes and took a deep breath.
"It seems you are also done," Lily said with a smile upon seeing Almond opening his eyes. "What did you name your skill?"
Almond grinned as he answered, "Grimblade Art: the Paradox of Riftveil."
"Ooo, that sounds like a super edgy overpowered name, eh?" Natalia chuckled. "Well, I named my skill Myriad Symphony of Sound."
"I have a better name, do you want it?" Almond smirked.
"Sure!" Natalia crossed her arms.
"Behold—Harmonious Crescendo of Anarchy."
Lily’s eyes twinkled, "That’s way better. Nat, use it."
"Damn, boi! Alright, I’ll use it," Natalia was amazed.
"What about your name, Lily?" Almond curiously asked. "Dreadspire Warlock can have way more options, more than Natalia’s class and mine."
"Yeah, since it’s a Warlock, I could go in any direction in the realm of magic," Lily smiled. "I decided to emphasize Curse and Death as this is also suitable with Dreadspire word."
"And my skill’s name is," Lily grinned, pausing for a second before revealing, "Omen of Abyssal Eldritch. I’ve made sure to imagine cool enchantments too…call it Dreadspire Darkened Flame, Withered Wind, Curseweaved Water, and Gloombound Earth."
Almond blinked, amazed. "Impressive! That’s an awesome idea, considering the class has Warlock. That’s going to be op for sure."
"My class evaluation just arrived!" Natalia exclaimed as she quickly checked the notification.
[Congratulations. The starting rank of your specialized class is SS-rank. The first skill of your class has been generated based on your skill imagination input.]
"Let’s fucking go! It’s an SS-rank class," Natalia squealed excitedly. "I can’t believe it…won’t I become as powerful as Almond now?!"
Lily rolled her eyes, "You wish. His first class is SS-rank, and it’s a complete one with a skill set and new skills that can be obtained by chance. Specialized classes are different."
Almond added with a chuckle as soon as Lily finished, "Natalia, SS-rank is your specialized class’s potential. It’s up to you to reach that potential by creating and improving your class skills."
"Sigh, you two can’t see me happy, right?"
Lily and Almond both rolled their eyes upon hearing that.
Natalia laughed, "I know, I know. Specialized class needs to be nurtured. And it’s thanks to you two that I was able to beat the low chance and acquire a higher-ranked class than I was initially assigned."
"Truly, thanks a lot."
"You’re welcome," Almond smiled.
"It’s fine. You’re my baby, after all," Lily lightly laughed as she patted Natalia’s head. "Now show us your first class-skill. Let’s see what you got."
