Psych Warp has reached maxed level.
Psych Warp is advancing to Stage 2.
Psych Warp -> Advanced Creation
Active Skill - Psycho Warping: From your training, and experience of creating something out of nothing. You have met the requirements to finally succeed. Concentrate your psychic mana to form objects out of matter. Walls, weapons, buildings. Anything you want to create is up to your imagination, and mana container. Weapon damage and structure integrity scales off intelligence.
| [ Stage 2 ] - Advanced Creation: You can now create objects with increased speed and control. Durability is increased.
Astrid nodded at the upgraded skill. It would help her creations a lot. It put her in a stressful situation having to rush to make the traps before those fish-men bolted toward her.
She formed a wall with her mind, and although the mana needed to use the skill wasn’t reduced, the increased speed she could create was tremendous. In just a few seconds, she had created a wall capable of blocking a small passageway.
I can now even use it in combat as an extra form of defence. Astrid thought, then created a small knife within her hand.
It formed so quickly that it was practically instant. She threw it onto the ground along with the others in her jacket. There wasn’t any need to hold them now that she could form them instantly. The mana to create it was almost negligible at this point, so she felt safe not having any on her body.
Astrid wanted to do more research with her new sight, but it was brought to a stop when the familiar dread of a door groaning filled the hall.
The fourth trial of the Void Progenitor has begun.
You can not escape, nor back out.
The trial ends when you have won or have died.
Astrid prepared her defences for the incoming enemy. She was expecting something extremely powerful to crawl out of the enormous set of doors. She wasn’t disappointed.
There were no footsteps, or anything to signal its arrival. It just appeared out of the darkness. Well, it would have been if not for Astrid’s newly gained dark vision.
It was an enormous human-like head that had an endless amount of eyes as they all looked at her. They twitched around, as if they were getting used to the surroundings and processing the information for the brain. Wherever it was, hidden behind all of those eyes.
Unlike the Savage Voidling Eye, it lacked any of its godly grandeur. But she could definitely feel its strength, merely just standing in its presence.
Level ??? - Scripture Demonling: ???
It was another monster she had never seen in the Wayfarers monster manual, or had ever heard about in stories. She did not know what it did, so she thickened her Mana Barrier a few times and grinned.
She raised her hand and was about to connect to the eyes when a cautious thought popped into her head.
She had read about certain monsters that were only a floating eyeball, and they relied on their high intelligence to warp minds. Astrid wasn’t sure if this was one, but she couldn’t see any weapons or tendrils to attack her.
That meant it had to be magic. Given its level, she wasn’t sure if starting a mind attack was the best use of her abilities. If she connected to the matter around its eyes, it could easily follow the path of psychic mana and tear open her mind.
The level difference made her apprehensive.
It was getting ready to attack. Its eyes turned bloodshot. Astrid knew she had to take the initiative.
She instantly formed a handful of knives and blasted them forward with Psychokinesis. Just as they were about to strike the monster, she let go of her control. The messy mixture of water and blood that was meant to spray out didn’t happen.
Instead, the blades crashed mid-air and clanged to the ground.
Astrid frowned. She wasn’t sure what to expect. She dashed around, blending herself into her illusion-replicas, hoping that the monster wasn’t able to detect her amongst them all.
A gigantic fireball formed above its floating head. The air within the room dried out within a second. The intense heat brushed up against her skin, already turning it red.
It forced Astrid to make a move. She couldn’t risk taking the fireball directly, and she didn’t want to gamble on whether she could steer it away. It was simply too big. With little practice, it forced her to try out her new dark matter [Crash] on a live subject.
A regular crash wouldn’t work, but if she bypassed the monster’s barrier and created that black-hole like explosion–or implosion, it would work. Maybe.
Astrid bit her lips. She had to gamble that the monster couldn’t initiate a mind attack while it was casting another skill.
She wasn’t sure if she could bypass the barrier, but it was time to try. She initiated Psych Domain and immediately noticed that the barrier was black. It was dark matter.
Is it because it’s made of energy? She connected to it regardless.
The sheer weight of it bore down on her mind. Instead of connecting to a large amount of it, she focused her efforts on a single point. If she could break through, she could connect to the regular matter like she always did.
The fire continued and bypassed her barrier. The heat felt like it was eating away at her flesh. Even compared to Rachelle, who was in the hundreds, the power was far greater.
Blisters formed on the top layer of her skin, they raised and bubbled atop her flesh.
She grit her teeth in pain as her mind crashed into the barrier. Astrid rotated it all on a single point. With a drill in mind, she joined the dark matter together and swirled it around. She sped it until it moved exactly like she imagined a drill would be like.
The barrier screamed in protest. Strange black and purple sparks flew off and sprinkled the surroundings.
The dark matter was so heavy that she could feel her control slipping. She gathered her will and pressed on. Just as she was about to lose control, it broke forward like a dam.
Astrid immediately gathered the dark matter behind the barrier and gathered it into a cluster. Her mana container was screaming in protest, but she couldn’t afford to spare any attention to drink a potion. Instead, she grit her teeth and battled through the exhaustion and pain that chased it.
Her mind was hazy, and her limbs were weak from the lack of mana. Her vision turned blurry, but she could still feel the clump of matter within her control.
Then, she commanded [Crash] to activate as the monstrous implosion sucked in the monster, and its hulking fire spell.
The monster roared in pain. It sounded like the engine of Rebirth restarting. It was metallic. The thrum grated on Astrid’s ears. The barrier surrounding the monster vanished. It had lost concentration. Astrid’s eyes widened at the opportunity.
While the demon was suffering from the attack. Astrid quickly uncorked a mana potion and swallowed the contents.
She created a mass collection of knives and sent them forward. They all aimed for their own individual gelatinous eyeball.
The monster attempted to recreate the barrier, but Astrid was already watching. She disconnected from the knives and grabbed hold of the dark matter with Psychokinesis. Astrid was like a doorkeeper, holding the heavy door open as the knives pierced their target.
The moment the knives struck, she exploded the matter in front of the knife, sending them deeper into the humanoid head’s skull.
Astrid wasn’t finished. She levitated up into the air and formed an enormous metal boulder in mid air. Once it reached a certain weight, she could no longer hold on to it as it crashed down towards the monster. As it fell, Astrid slammed a mass of matter above the boulder, sending it shooting down at a tremendous speed.
The boulder pierced multiplied of its eyes, the sound of bone snapping filled the hall. Astrid downed another potion and send multiplied [Crashes] on top of the boulder until it seeped down into the beast’s skull.
The monster stopped thrashing around, the pupils within the many eyes turned dull and lifeless. Astrid only breathed a sigh of relief when the notifications from the System rang within her mind. Once she realised it was dead, she yanked its eyeballs out en masse and chucked them to the floor.
The last thing she wanted was it to rise from the dead!
It had been an annoying fight. With the uncertainty of the monster being able to use mind attacks and its high level, she steered clear. It was only a last resort to attack the monster directly.
Although she was confident in her mind’s abilities, it was always better to be safe than sorry. If she had disappeared into a mind battle, and the demon could still conjure that fireball, she would be dead without even knowing it. Unless she could have killed it in time…
She did not know what other abilities it had, but she was glad she didn’t have to find out.
Astrid shook her head and opened the System.

Level one-hundred and twenty-one… Astrid tapped her foot on the ground.
If it kept on going like this, then it would get a little dicey. But the thought of the legendary class and the questions about her class origin gave her no choice. If she backed out now, she wouldn’t be able to get back in.
She was over the dungeon level limit now.
If she didn’t risk it, she would regret it for the rest of her life if she lost the answers. She simply had to keep going. She had the thought of leaving the palace and trying to level further, but an extra few levels wouldn’t amount too much.
First, she took out a health potion and swallowed the red liquid. The vile bitterness made her face squint. The awful taste was worth it as she watched the boils on her arms vanish. It was replaced with an excruciating itchiness that she desperately resisted against. It was the downside of drinking a health potion.
Astrid looked around. The entire hall was in chaos. The fight had torn the tiles from the ground and corpses were thrown around and littered the entire area.
From where the demon formed the apocalyptic fireball, it scorched the ground black. The corpses were burning, sending a putrid stench through the air.
Astrid formed a thin barrier and pushed out the foul odour from her area. She walked closer to the body of the demonling and looked around for any loot that she could take. There was nothing.
Maybe inside? Astrid thought.
She grabbed hold of the flesh and tore it in two, just like ripping a piece of fabric. She split the head in two and revealed an enormous glossy brain.
Do I need to perform brain surgery? Astrid turned up her nose, but quickly got to work. The allure of an item was too great.
