"I'm feeling a bit nervous..."

Luna spoke as she glanced at Alex, who had just come into the room with Noctura, who had her eyes shining with elation.

*Chuckle*

"What are you nervous about??"

Alex, however, just chuckled at her words as he rubbed Noctura's head, and she stayed seated on his shoulder.

"Well... Forget it!"

Luna, who heard his words, fidgeted a bit before she sighed in resignation.

She knew that Alex knew why she was nervous and what she was nervous about, but he was still asking her about it, so she just let it go.

She wouldn't be able to take a tease from Alex right now; she was already tensed.

As for why she was tensed?

"Don't worry too much about it."

Alex spoke as he shook his head before he waved his hand and the next second...

*Woosh*

A shining white portal appeared right in front of them, causing both Noctura and Alex to grin in excitement.

"Let's go."

Alex spoke as he stepped forward, intending to enter the portal along with Noctura, whose tail was wagging like the propeller of a plane.

"Um..."

But Alex stopped the moment he heard a hesitant voice from behind as he turned back to look at Luna, who had yet to step forward.

"Hey..."

His expression turned gentle as he stepped closer to Luna, who had her gaze turned to the floor.

"It will be all right; believe me."

Alex spoke as he lifted Luna's head by holding her chin, making her look right into his eyes.

He wasn't sure if it would be fine, as he never really thought about it, but from what he knew, he didn't think anything bad would happen.

"I-I can't do it r-right now..."

Luna muttered as she averted her eyes, looking away from Alex's gaze.

She had agreed to his words before when he asked her to tag along, but now that she realized what might happen if things didn't go as she wanted them to, she didn't want to go anymore.

Her every bit of happiness—which was related to Alex—could vanish if things were to take a bad turn.

"Luna."

Alex called her out, wanting to persuade her again, but as he saw her body tremble in protest, he just sighed.

"I-I have some things to look after here as well."

Luna, who heard Alex's sigh, hurriedly spoke, not wanting to leave him disappointed.

She just couldn't go through that portal after all.

"All right then, I'll let you do what you want."

Alex, unmotivated to make Luna go along with him anymore, just nodded his head.

He knew what was eating away Luna, but what could he do other than reassure her that nothing would go wrong?

This was not something one could just solve with words; it was an emotional matter after all.

"Yeah, you should stay back! Or Mama might just kill you—!"

But just then, Noctura, who had been silently feeling excited about going to meet Ann, growled in displeasure.

She wasn't naive enough to not understand what was going on.

Luna, a perfectly capable woman, like any other, would want an equally or maybe more capable man as a lover for themselves.

Luna did just that, but in her case, there was one problem, and it was that the guy she chose for herself already had two women.

Now, if she wanted to become his, she would have to wait till he guys other women gave her the green light—which wasn't actually easy, especially with their not-so-friendly start.

That was why Noctura's words caused Luna's body to recoil back with uncertainty, especially when she could clearly imagine all of that happening.

"Noctura."

The chibi wolf's arrogant proclamation, however, was cut short as Alex's strict voice made its way into her ears, causing her eyes to widen.

Alex never calls her Noctura; she knew it, and even Luna knew it.

He would always call her pup, as that was what he called her to show his love for her.

Right now, however, be it the tone or the way he called her out, everything was new for her.

It was as if she had seen this side of Alex for the first time, at least for herself.

As Noctura's eyes turned to look into Alex's eyes, her body trembled.

There was a frown on his face as he stared into her eyes with a bit of anger in his eyes.

Her eyes quivered, her body slumped on his shoulder, and her gaze turned to look at the ground.

She realized her mistake.

Luna was already tensed and not in anyway in for more pressure, but her words just caused her anxiousness to get elevated.

"I'm sorry, Master."

She muttered in a low voice as she rubbed her back on Alex's cheek, but instead of getting an 'It is ok', she heard a reprimanding voice from Alex.

"Am I the one you think you should be apologizing to?"

Alex questioned with a frown, causing Noctura to lower her head even more before her gaze turned to look at Luna, who wasn't even looking at them.

Luna was busy with her own problems as she kept staring at her own feet, fidgeting every second.

"I'm sorry, Luna."

She muttered, breaking Luna out of her clouding thoughts.

"Huh?"

But Luna didn't get what Noctura spoke, so she just looked up at Noctura with a confused gaze.

"I am sorry."

Noctura repeated her words, no hint of frustration or annoyance present in her voice.

Yes, she didn't mean a single word she said, as she never liked Luna, but for Alex's sake, just so that he wouldn't get angry, Noctura would keep apologizing to Luna if needed.

"I-It's fine..."

Luna just nodded her head as she took a step back from them, giving them space to go on into the portal.

She really couldn't go through with this, not right now.

Meeting Ann and waiting for her decision wasn't something she could face without being prepared for it.

She needed time to prepare herself for the worst.

"All right then, since you don't want to come along, I'll take my leave."

Alex, who clearly got the message Luna wanted to give with her actions, nodded his head and stepped back toward the portal that was activated even now.

"I-I really can't; I have to look after the progress of the organization I've been working on."

Luna, although sure that Alex already knew why she didn't want to go through the portal, still tried to come up with new excuses, causing Alex to shake his head before he stepped into the portal.

Now, what was this portal?

Why was Ann being called out again and again after this long?

So, he went for Ann first; Noctura's happiness was just an added profit to it.

He also wanted to reveal that he had started to like Luna, and it was possible that he might make her his woman in the near future, to Ann first, as he knew that she would take this news calmer than Alice.

He didn't know that there was someone with a lot of influence all over the world due to his immense power, and his iron fist ruling was headed right to the Demon Empire.

Alex right now wore a frown on his face as he stared at the naked body of a woman he had never even seen before today.

The woman seemed oblivious to his presence as she had her eyes closed, relaxing in the bathtub filled with hot water. That was until she did notice his presence.

*Swoosh*

That woman didn't seem to notice who Alex was, as she just rushed at him with a sword that was kept a distance away from her bathtub.

"Who?!"

She wasn't even sure if there was someone; she just moved on her instincts, ready to cleave Alex's head off his body.

'It's fine.'

Alex, on the other hand, commanded Noctura, who was about to move forward to kill the woman, to calm down.

The one in front of him was not strong enough to cause him much harm anyway.

He realized that it was his fault, so he was ready to take the blame. That was if the woman could move the sword that was about to slice his neck away from there.
