Chapter 121: I will become…..

Chapter 121: I will become…..

“You want to help Ralts evolve into Kirlia, and then use a Dawn Stone to help it evolve into Gallade. Through the sublimation of life that is evolution, you want to stimulate its comprehension of moves…”

Professor Oak nodded, “This approach indeed has a high chance of resolving Ralts’ current situation. If it can’t evolve under normal circumstances, we’ll have to resort to external forces.”

“Where did you discover this method?” Professor Oak asked.

“Some ancient books and speculations,” Terrance replied.

“Well done…it’s a bold plan. I’ll contact the person who can help you,” Professor Oak said. “By the way, you’re a Junior Breeder, right?”

“Yes.”

“Victor told me you obtained your Junior Breeder license two years ago. That’s impressive,” Professor Oak said. “This is something Victor entrusted me to prepare for you. From now on, it belongs to you.”

Uh…

It was a handheld electronic device similar to a game console, entirely red, with several buttons on top.

“This is… a Pokédex?” Terrance exclaimed. “Why…”

“It’s okay. This is just a trial version I developed, and I can do as I wish with it. However, once it’s bound to your ID, you can also register as a Trainer through it and enjoy all the benefits of an ordinary Trainer.”

“Is this developed by Professor Oak…”

Terrance was surprised. Until now, Trainers fell into two categories: those with only a Trainer ID and those with a Pokédex. The latter, to some extent, is much more convenient than the former.

Moreover, the Pokédex was developed only in the last decade, and each one was strictly controlled by the League.

Pokédex has many advantages. Even a rookie Trainer without a foundation could learn a lot about what precautions to take in the wild by following the instructions provided by the Pokédex.

As one of the developers of the Pokédex, which is useful for the vast Trainer community, it is only natural that Professor Oak has a great reputation internationally.

“No need to feel embarrassed. If Ralts can successfully evolve, it would help me solve a mystery,” Professor Oak handed over the Pokédex. “And if you have the chance… after collecting six Pokemon, you can also send that Swablu over. I’ll take care of it for you.”

Professor Oak looked at Terrance with a cheerful smile.

“…” Terrance.

Send Swablu over? Terrance suspected that Professor Oak had obtained information about Swablu from Master Victor and had developed a desire to observe and study it.

“In that case, thank you very much,” Terrance said.

Taking the Pokédex with mixed feelings, he wondered how, in just two years of leisurely studying without doing much, he easily obtained the qualifications of a Trainer?

“No… how could it be that I’ve done nothing? Without my efforts in the first four years and the accumulation in these two years, would these opportunities have come to me?” Terrance was convinced that opportunities are prepared for those with capabilities. People without preparation are not qualified to receive the favor of opportunities.

As a towering figure in the research community, Professor Oak, while engaged in his own research, was also well-versed in Breeder knowledge. Not only him, but every renowned researcher in each region could not possibly be ignorant of Breeder knowledge.

They might not have taken Breeder exams, but they certainly would not overlook such basic skills.

So, as soon as the young Breeder Terrence and Professor Oak started communicating in depth, the two of them talked non-stop, and the conversation was very lively. Like this, time passed away gradually.

At Professor Oak’s insistence, Terrance spent a night at his Laboratory. The next day, he bid farewell to Professor Oak, preparing to head to the next destination.

“Ash?”

Upon leaving the building in front of him, Terrance suddenly noticed a familiar face peeking at him…

Terrance, with a surprised expression, felt a sense of familiarity from Ash the moment he saw him, and from Professor Oak’s words, he finally confirmed the identity of the little devil who had led him.

Watching Ash run over, it was fortunate that the other person spoke quickly; otherwise, Terrance might have blurted out the words, “I see you have a unique potential; you’ll surely achieve something big in the future.”

“Brother Terrance, are you a Trainer?” Ash arrived before him, his eyes sparkling like tiny stars.

“Why did you think that?” Terrance smiled.

“Because you came to find Professor Oak. As long as you’re a Trainer, you’ll receive your first Pokemon from Professor Oak.” Ash had an expression that said, “I’ve seen through you.”

“Yes, I am indeed a Trainer. What…do you also wish to become a Trainer, Ash?” Terrance said.

“Of course!! I will definitely become a Pokémon Master in the future!” Ash clenched his fist, striking a pose of “I am strong.”

“Well… actually, Brother Terrance, can I see your Pokemon?” At this point, Ash showed an expectant expression, eagerly looking at Terrance.

Terrance smiled and took out Ralts’ Poké Ball.

With a flash of white light, the green Pokemon appeared before Ash. Ralts’ cute appearance immediately made Ash exclaim.

“So adorable!!” Ash pounced on it.

Terrance was slightly surprised. It was rare that Ralts did not dodge away from a stranger.

This was inconsistent with Ralts’s personality! Even he didn’t have this privilege initially!

“Ralttts~~” Ralts cried out.

“Oh, so that’s how it is. It is indeed a ‘Feeling Pokemon’. After sensing his pure and innocent heart, it didn’t feel any dislike….that’s why it didn’t show any resistance,” Terrance realized. “Speaking of which, Ash seems to genuinely love Pokemon from the bottom of his heart.”

Seeing Ash’s eyes filled with eagerness and envy, Terrance couldn’t bear to disturb him, but he couldn’t linger here for too long.

“Ralts and I are leaving. I look forward to the day you become a Trainer and embark on your journey, Ash,” Terrance said.

Reluctantly releasing Ralts, Ash immediately brightened up, “Don’t worry, I will definitely become a Pokémon Master!!”

“I believe in you…” Terrance paused for a moment, recalling something. He rummaged through his backpack and, looking at Ash’s puzzled expression, smiled and said, “This… I’ll give it to you. Consider it… as me. Let me witness the day you become a Pokémon Master!”

After placing the commemorative prize obtained from the luxury cruise—a special limited edition Pokémon battle commemorative hat with a red and white ball pattern—on Ash’s head, Terrance happily departed.

“This… this… this is the limited edition 100th Pokémon battle commemorative hat!!” Ash’ eyes widened, unable to contain his excitement…This hat, he tried to acquire it every year through postcards, never expecting to be gifted with it in the end.

Holding the hat with joy and excitement, Ash felt that he had been acknowledged. Watching Terrance’s departing figure, Ash’s eyes welled up with tears.
