Picking Up Fragments

Chapter 48: Enter With Imposing Presence!

Coming out of his room, Jiang Siming noticed that Wang Xinyi was about to sleep.

"Xinyi, I need to go out again," Jiang Siming sounded a bit uneasy.

He admitted to himself that he wasn't the kind of person to commit. His fondness for Wang Xinyi was more about her gentle, kind, and innocent nature. Although they had established a relationship, while he could genuinely treat Wang Xinyi well, he couldn't entirely devote himself to her.

Moreover, Wang Xinyi alone couldn't satisfy his needs as a man. Every time they got intimate, Wang Xinyi seemed fatigued, leaving him feeling frustrated. He couldn't just force her against her will, potentially risking her health or even her life.

"Okay, take care," Wang Xinyi hugged Jiang Siming before he left.

While getting into the car, Jiang Siming unexpectedly found three condoms in his pocket, which he hadn't placed there. The only possibility was that Wang Xinyi secretly put them there.

In fact, Wang Xinyi had known for a while that Jiang Siming couldn't belong to her alone, especially considering his prowess, akin to a male star, in the bedroom. She realized that although Jiang Siming liked her, it wasn't love; they had only been together for less than a week.

Rather than forcibly clinging to him, which might eventually hurt both of them and even push away the person she cared about, she decided to let him be. As long as she held a place in his heart, that was enough for her.

Furthermore, she secretly hoped there would be other girls who could bear the burden for her. The thought made her legs tremble involuntarily.

Jiang Lan sent Jiang Siming the location at the Fisherman's Wharf in Fengxian, Shanghai.

By the time he arrived, it was one in the morning, yet the beach was still bustling with activity.

Numerous young men and women gathered here, enjoying food, drink, and fun in groups; it was a paradise for nighttime activities.

A huge bonfire lit up the entire beach.

A group of young people were barbecuing while chatting, and several couples were even dancing around the bonfire.

Among them, a beautiful girl sat by the fire, constantly looking down at her phone, seemingly waiting for a reply.

Next to her sat a boy who bore some resemblance to Zheng Kai, continuously trying to please her with a lovesick expression that was obvious to bystanders.

However, the girl wasn't impressed by his efforts and merely responded politely.

"Little Lan, you should know my intentions. Although my family isn't exceptionally wealthy, they have agreed to give me money to buy a car in a few days. Mainly because they don't want me to stand out too much at school. They've only promised around five hundred thousand."

"What brand of car do you like? Just tell me, and I'll buy that brand. I'll pick you up from school every day and take you out. Or if you want, I'll give you the keys."

The other boys and girls present immediately started flattering him.

"Wow, fifty thousand! Zhang's a rich kid."

"Then it has to be a BMW or Mercedes, maybe even a Jaguar."

"Zhang wants a new car; I need to experience it sometime."

"Cadillac is also good."

Hearing everyone's suggestions, Zhang modestly waved his hand, "Let's ask Little Lan what car she likes; I'll buy whichever she prefers."

Other girls were both envious and jealous.

Zhang Wei was wealthy himself, quite handsome, and willing to spend money on girls. Why couldn't they meet a man like that?

But Jiang Lan remained silent, still looking at her phone.

Suddenly, her phone, which had been silent all this time, rang. Jiang Lan showed a surprised expression, quickly stood up, and looked around.

"What's wrong, Little Lan?" Zhang Wei asked in confusion.

"You guys go ahead and have fun. A friend of mine is coming to see me. I'll go pick him up," Jiang Lan said, running toward the beach.

"Be safe, I'll accompany you," Zhang Wei followed closely behind Jiang Lan, being a 'gentleman'.

Jiang Lan wanted to refuse, but Zhang Wei's attitude was firm, so she had no choice but to let him follow.

The other friends were also curious and followed. So late at night, Jiang Lan still had a friend coming over? Was it a guy or a girl?

They reached the parking lot, and Jiang Siming's car drove up.

"Wow! An RS7! A sports car worth over two million!" exclaimed a knowledgeable guy among them.

They were just students, and the wealthiest among them was Zhang Wei, whose family had assets worth tens of millions. Seeing a car worth over two million, especially one that looked so good, was a rare sight.

However, Zhang Wei's attention wasn't on the car at all. Regardless of how expensive it was, it didn't concern him. He was more eager to know if Jiang Lan's friend posed any threat.

What surprised them was Jiang Lan's obvious happiness upon seeing the RS7; she even waved to the driver.

The owner of the RS7 noticed her, honked in response, and found a parking spot.

Zhang Wei had an ominous feeling.

As everyone's gaze shifted, a young man not much older than them stepped out of the car and walked slowly towards them.

As soon as this man appeared, he captivated the attention of all the girls present.

"He's so handsome!"

"Wow, how can this guy be so good-looking!"

"Could this be Jiang Lan's friend?"

"I wonder why Jiang Lan never agreed to Zhang Wei's pursuit. Turns out, she already has someone in her heart."

"Shut your mouth! Can't you see Zhang Wei is about to explode?"

Indeed, Zhang Wei's expression changed several times, but he held it in, barely.

"Little Lan, is this your friend?" Zhang Wei forced a smile.

Ignoring him, Jiang Lan ran towards Jiang Siming alone and resolutely threw herself into his arms.

Zhang Wei witnessed this scene and nearly exploded with anger. He had pursued the goddess for almost half a year, treated her with the utmost care and tenderness, yet he hadn't even touched her hand. And here she was, showing up and willingly throwing herself into Jiang Siming's embrace. It was something no man could accept.

He had assumed Jiang Siming would be ecstatic about it, but to their surprise, his expression wasn't as joyful as expected. Instead, it seemed a bit aloof, and he was communicating with Jiang Lan in a way they couldn't hear due to the distance.

"Are you asking me to be your scapegoat? If that's the case, please let go. I'm not that foolish," Jiang Siming's words made Jiang Lan panic for a moment. She quickly explained, "You misunderstood. I absolutely didn't mean that. He's just my schoolmate who's been pursuing me.

I wanted to see you today. There's absolutely nothing else. If you're still angry, I can leave with you right now, and you don't have to say a word to them."

Jiang Lan's first favorable impression was of Jiang Siming, and she was afraid that he would be angry and misunderstand her because of this situation.

After a moment of silence, Jiang Siming said, "Remember what you promised me today, to 'explore the city' with me."

Jiang Lan's face turned bright red instantly, and she softly murmured an agreement.

This made Jiang Siming smile again. He took the initiative to pull her closer and walked towards the group of young men and women.

"Hello, I'm Jiang Siming, Jiang Lan's boyfriend."

It was a declaration of authority, without any courtesy, dominating and direct, just like when Jiang Lan and Jiang Siming had first met, straightforward and unambiguous.
