Chapter 445
C445 – Not the Same Person the Longlost Lv Yingyu
Upon hearing the news, Jiang Qiongying hesitated for a moment before finally speaking up. “I might actually know that person!”
Jiang Xuance was startled by her response. “Oh? Is he from the Hidden Vein?”
Shaking her head, Jiang Qiongying replied, “He shouldn’t be. He’s the national college entrance exam top scorer this year, from a small mountain village in Tianhee City. There’s no way he’s connected to the Hidden Vein!”
She relayed what she knew to Jiang Xuance, who found it hard to believe. “With such a humble background, it’s impossible for him to have become so powerful, especially since the spiritual energy has only recently revived. He must have some other secret.”
A glimmer of hope sparked in Jiang Xuance’s eyes at the thought. If he could uncover and claim the secret to Jiang Hao’s strength for himself… The idea was tantalizing.
But the moment he recalled the extent of Jiang Hao’s power, the covetous gleam in his eyes died. He was the undisputed master of the Jiang Family’s most powerful techniques, his cultivation level towering above the family’s youth and even besting many of the elders. Yet, he couldn’t withstand a single punch from Jiang Hao, whose cultivation level was clearly far superior. And those within the Jiang Family who matched Jiang Hao’s strength were well beyond his own status and influence, making it clear he couldn’t command them.
There were too many factors at play, making his goal unattainable.
Meanwhile, after Jiang Hao and his group returned to school, they went their separate ways. Back in their dorm, they found Du Jiaxin lying on his bed, seemingly asleep, his back turned to them. But Jiang Hao could sense the tension in Du Jiaxin’s breath, giving away his wakefulness. Regardless, the matter seemed trivial now.
Without addressing it, Jiang Hao, Zhang Daoqian, and Yang Xiaoxiao remained silent. They each understood, however, that the recent events had driven a wedge between them and Du Jiaxin.
They were never meant to walk the same path.
And so, there was little left to discuss.
With that, Jiang Hao’s college life commenced.
His advisor was a middle-aged man, short in stature with a bit of a paunch, but he was amiable and approachable.
After much deliberation, Jiang Hao decided to rent an apartment off-campus.
The reason was simple: he harbored many secrets, making dormitory living unsuitable.
Soong Wan moved in as well, which made it convenient for him to look after her.
But just as he was settling into a routine, Jiang Hao got a call from Lv Yingyu.
Since her defeat in the battle for the Baiqi Killing Sword, Lv Yingyu had been under Jiang Hao’s control, tasked with locating the Imperial Ruler’s Seal and the Follow-Marquis Bead.
Nearly three months had flown by.
If Lv Yingyu didn’t reach out soon, the poison would take effect.
Driven by the threat of death, Lv Yingyu and her associates had been desperately searching.
Thankfully, their relentless efforts had paid off, revealing the location of one of the two sought-after treasures.
Jiang Hao glanced at his phone’s caller ID—Lv Yingyu—and eagerly answered.
”Mr. Jiang?”
The voice of Lv Yingyu came through, tinged with a probing tone.
Jiang Hao responded with a smile.
“Miss Lu, our three-month deadline is nearing. Do you have any good news to share with me?”
Upon hearing this, Lv Yingyu on the other end of the line tensed up, her teeth clenched in frustration.
But remembering that her life was in someone else’s hands, she quickly quelled her anger and put on a cheerful demeanor.
“Mr. Jiang, you’re truly prophetic!”
“I indeed have some good news to report to you!”
