Chapter 263: The Chain Quest

Chapter 263: The Chain Quest

"How does it go?" Anna asked with curiosity.

"It was weird," Bloom crossed the distance between the two before standing in front of her as he whispered, "did you know there was a real dragon there?"

Her silence and shimmering eyes told him she knew. "Then why didn't you warn me?"

"The quest conditions," she simply said and he just gave her a deep glance. "But nothing bad happened, right? You are here and it seems you completed the quest successfully."

"Indeed," he nodded before adding, "but that dragon it's troublemaker."

"Don't bother with him," she casually said, "it's sealed by deep spells and can't be released except if someone was crazy enough to release him."

"Crazy?" Bloom raised one eyebrow before she explained without suspecting his reaction.

"He is very cunning in fact all dragons are all like that. They are masters of manipulating others, and are very proud of fraud."

"Fraud?" Bloom was getting one shock after another.

"Indeed," she nodded, "they are the best at mimicking a game contract. They are very famous for offering false contracts to get their goals."

She suddenly paused before seriously asking: "You didn't sign anything with that filthy lizard, right?"

"I didn't do anything with it," Bloom hurriedly said while feeling gratitude for that dragon's stinginess or else he would be a victim of fraud inside the game.

Which was something really hilarious if it occurred.

"Great," she heaved a short sigh of relief, "That dragon had a death feud with me and my family. If it went free then I'll be dead and this town will be destroyed."

The more she spoke the more he was thankful for him letting down that risky offer. 'It was close, phew,' he inwardly sighed before saying what he came here for.  "You need to declare that zone a forbidden zone then," he suggested and she only sighed.

"I don't have the authority yet to do it."

He got her hidden meaning. So he dropped the topic for now before saying, "I got what you desired and even more."

"More?" she asked with a sudden pause on her face, "what do you mean?"

"Like this," he calmly waved his hand and the next instant a giant head of a dragon skull appeared with two horns over it. One was small and looked broken while the other one was long and complete.

The skull was so big that it took up most of this spacious hall. Yet when it appeared, Anna couldn't control her body to stand while slightly shaking.

"You" she muttered and Bloom couldn't tell if she was angry or too excited to speak.

"Well that dragon there was really dangerous," he started to give reasons, "so I couldn't wait to cleave the horn off the skull. I took it and brought it to you, I thought this would be better."

He wasn't telling but asking, trying to get to know her true feelings. She turned to gaze upon him before the next moment she threw herself upon him, resting inside his arms.

"Thanks," she honestly muttered while leaning softly inside his embrace. He stood there, completely frozen, not knowing what just happened or what he should do or say to her.

"Don't overthink this," she moved away after long moments, "but you deserved this."

"For what?" he softly muttered.

"This skull" she turned to glance with much hatred, "it reaped the life of my beloved grandfather. That filthy dragon kept guarding it for ages and no one managed to retrieve it.

Now I can put it in the center of the town, I can create a statue out of it. it's time for the entire world to hear the bitter roars of the slain dragon, it's time for the name of my family to be known all over the game."

Bloom listened to her words and felt there was much more than what she just said. Yet he didn't dare to ask, as it seemed this was somehow a personal thing.

Something that mattered greatly to her, like the map he got.

"Here," he took out the map, "I believe this belongs to you."

"Oh," her eyes shimmered in joy when she saw the map, "you kept it intact thanks."

Before he could say anything a system notification came at once announcing his success in fulfilling the quest.

"System alert: Congratulations to the player for completing the quest to find the dragon horn."

"System alert: player managed to overdo the quest and brought the dragon skull, an item that the Swor town mayor deeply cherished. Player gained extra reward and his evaluation became outstanding."

"System alert: Player managed to complete the quest before exceeding level thirty so he will get the full reward."

"System alert: Player gains one hundred thousand gold coins."

"System alert: Player gains the dragon soul stone."

"System alert: Player gains one hundred level thirty grade red unique dragon materials."

"System alert: Swor town now has a deterrence effect against the monster tides. Players can now level up here without invoking any monster tide. The town became a heaven place for players all over the game."

"System alert: the fees to teleport to the town have increased to reach one thousand gold coins per ticket. Player has the privilege to invite all members of his teams here free of charge."

"System alert: Player has fulfilled the conditions to unlock a chain quest. Does the player agree to accept this?"

Bloom glanced at the long rows of rewards with a big smile of content over his face. Despite the monetary reward being something he didn't care about, the sudden increase in the ticket price for this town made him even laugh.

"Like this no one will be able to come here and bother me in large numbers," he marveled at this reward as it strangely supported his main plan.

He wanted to build a base here, and the issue of securing it was something noisy to him. But now he could sleep in peace at night knowing his enemies wouldn't dare to come here in large numbers to attack his guild base.

As for the chain quest; he didn't hesitate to accept it.

"System alert: player has accepted the chain quest of the Swor town mayor."

"System alert: the quest is to achieve the long awaited dream of the Swor town mayor's family to achieve greatness in the world."

"System alert: Quest one of this chain quest is unlocked for the player. Please return to the quest menu and see the quest details for yourself."

He hurriedly opened the quest menu from his profile page. He started to read and when he finished he couldn't help but laugh.

"It's such an easy quest," he shook his head while Anna glanced at him.

"I can't express my gratitude for your help. Thanks, and I hope you can help me with another thing."

"Just name it my princess and I will make sure to fulfill it."

"My town lacks any strong base for players. In such troubled times and with the immense help you provided by this horn, the monsters won't bother us anymore. Now it's time to get this feature to our benefit, and to do so I need a guild to be present in the town."

"I've already planned to do so," he simply said.

"I know," she nodded, "but I wanted to make sure you can take this matter more seriously. I dream of turning this forsaken town into a mighty city, a crown jewel in the entire kingdom."

He smiled as this seemed the game setting for him accepting the quest. "I promise to do whatever I can to fulfill this task."

"I depend on you," she calmly said before adding, "if you manage to succeed before the next full moon then I can bestow you a title as the lord of players in my town."

"System alert: Player has gained the favor of the Swor town mayor. Player's quest has been upgraded and an extra reward is added there."

Bloom couldn't help but grin. "Don't worry, I won't take such a long time to achieve this."

"The next moon is less than two weeks from now."

""

"Hahaha, I wish you could see your face right now," she laughed at his instant reaction while he could only smile.

As he left her mansion, his mind started to spin fast. He needed to amass two million gold coins in less than two weeks, a task that seemed quite impossible for ordinary players.

But he wasn't ever an ordinary player to begin with.
