Chapter 2170.2: Connate Spirit Root
Chapter 2170.2: Connate Spirit Root
“Don’t get agitated, second uncle. As strong as the potential of connate spirit roots are, they require significant personal effort too,” Lu Yun smiled faintly. “Here, this is the Major Five Elements Demolition Godslayer Record. It’s an impressive method even in the world of immortals. If you’re interested in becoming a sword immortal, second uncle, you can try practicing this method.”
Although the Severed Meridians Hold had been broken, Lu Xiaochi had still lost all of his cultivation. He was an ordinary person with the ponderous consciousness of a nascent soul cultivator. Everything had to be started anew.
“The cultivation methods from the world of immortals!” Lu Xiaochi shook. His nephew had given him so many surprises that, despite being mentally prepared, he was still shocked.
“Is your master an immortal of the world of immortals instead of the world of cultivation?” he asked in a trembling voice.
“The world of immortals…” Lu Yun frowned. The Major Five Elements Demolition Godslayer Record was a method that he’d obtained in his first reincarnation. He’d found it in a secret locale in the world of immortals and rose to the top of the world with it.
But in his remaining reincarnations, he never took the ascent protocol to the world of immortals, despite becoming an immortal many times. He didn’t even know where it was.
The world of immortals seemed to have become a legend in stories shared between cultivators.
The Mindful Immortal Potentate was a heavyweight in the world of immortals. His inheritance appearing in the Jade Ruins World of Immortal Cultivation is a sign that many things have gone wrong. Or have the gates to the world of immortals closed for some reason?
His mind flew rapidly through various possibilities as he’d dwelled in the world of immortals when it was at its most prosperous. Innumerable cultivators took the ascent protocol to the world. However, each of his reincarnations resulted in the memories of an individual personality that weren’t connected to each other. Hence, he didn’t have much to draw off of.
Had the disaster of his subconscious already begun?
Forget it, I’m putting all of this out of my mind for now. I’m just small fry at foundation establishment, what do the problems of the world of immortals have to do with me? Lu Yun shook his head with a smile.
Lu Xiaochi rubbed his nose—he’d asked one question. Why had that caused Lu Yun to frown in thought, then mumble to himself? He was growing ever more mystified by his nephew.
“I don’t know the particulars about my master either. He sent my senior brother with a lot of things and had me take care of them myself,” Lu Yun quickly responded when he saw that his uncle had more questions. “Second uncle, although your restriction’s been broken, your spirit root is not very stable yet. There’s still plenty of medicine left in the Aureate Bird Cauldron. You should make good use of it and consolidate your spirit root. I’m heading out now.” Lu Yun turned and left.
……
Being an energetic person, staying inside a small room for seven days had nearly suffocated Lu Yun.
Rumble!!
He’d just exited the secret vault when a terrifying explosion went off outside the Major Cycle Nebula Formation. The formation shook like a leaf.
“Lu Xuan!” Lu Yun frowned and summoned his guard to him. “What’s going on?”
“It’s the Nineheavens Pagoda.” Rather wounded, Lu Xuan was unnaturally pale. “They came three days ago and started attacking the formation. All guards that are golden core and above have entered the formation to support it.” Pausing, he added, “Senior Blood has not gone.”
In the entire residence, only Lu Yun could command Bloodbath. The old man wouldn’t make a move even if the complex was breached and everyone slaughtered. Lu Xuan had suffered his injuries through the course of supporting the formation.
“Recover from your wounds first.” Lu Yun flicked a pill into Lu Xuan’s hands. “Uncle He, open the formation!”
Standing in the center of the Major Cycle Nebula Formation, He Wuheng started when he heard the young master’s voice. Thinking of Yuwen Zonglin and Ouyang Baitian’s ending, he quickly let the formation go.
Those outside stopped attacking when they saw the formation grind to a halt.
BOOM!
The Lu residence doors exploded in a shower of shards.
“Hahahahaha!! How dare a puny Lu Clan stand in this young master’s way? You seek death!” came an uncommonly cocky voice from the door. A handsome young man roughly the same age as Lu Yun walked through the broken doors. Clad in turquoise robes, he was followed by two dozen cultivators.
The weakest of the two dozen was nascent soul and the strongest was soul projection.
“Lu Yun, get your ass out here! We’re going to fight in single combat!” he bawled as soon as he entered.
“I wondered who it was, so it’s Sir Cloudexit. It’s been three years since we last saw each other, has all been well?” Lu Yun immediately recognized the young man.
Sir Cloudexit, young lord of the Nineheavens Pagoda, had visited Darklake three years ago. He’d bumped into Lu Yun and the two started fighting when the verbal exchange turned ugly. Although he was from the foremost sect of a fourth rank empire, Cloudexit himself was an utter bumpkin and less than Lu Yun of the time.
He suffered an enormous beating at Lu Yun’s hands, resulting in representatives from the Nineheavens Pagoda visiting a few days later and crippling Lu Xiaochi right in front of Lu Tianling.
This time, other cultivation empires had come after hearing news of a dao weapon appearing in Darklake. As the superior nation to its vassal, Dark Orchid would certainly send someone.
Sir Cloudexit had nursed a grudge ever since he’d suffered a beating three years ago. Revenge was constantly on his mind, so he would fully seize this chance now that it’d come by!
“Hahaha, just in time, Lu Yun! I’ve already taken care of the trash that is Zhao Chenguang and Yu Shuai. You’re the only one left!” Cloudexit roared with laughter when he saw Lu Yun and took a step forward, slamming his palm at Lu Yun’s chest.
“You’ve gone from third level qi refinement to golden core in three years. Looks like you’ve been diligently cultivating these years!” Lu Yun swiftly retreated when the other advanced.
Humm!
Cloudexit brayed with amusement to see Lu Yun back away and manifested a longsword in his hand. It exploded with radiance that reached nine meters long and crashed down on Lu Yun’s head.
Lu Yun frowned and quickly moved his feet, his body twisting and turning agilely to easily dodge the domineering sword light.
“Sir Cloudexit’s cultivation is run-of-the-mill as his golden core level is just the result of pills and medicines. The longsword in his hand, however, is a lower spirit rank weapon!
“Niiiice, it’s mine!” Lu Yun beamed. He typically wouldn’t want something like this, but he didn’t have anything like it at the moment.
“Hahaha, you didn’t think that I would coalesce my golden core after only three years, did you now? You’re just a foundation establishment, let’s see how you’ll fight me!” Sir Cloudexit strutted proudly to see his old enemy on the receiving end of what he’d once suffered.
Meanwhile, those of the Nineheavens Pagoda suppressed eye rolls. What was there to be proud of when a golden core cultivator equipped with a lower spirit rank weapon beat a foundation establishment cultivator?
All this talk of fighting and enmity? Everyone knew that Lu Yun was unworthy to be Sir Cloudexit’s enemy!
It was the young lord of the greatest sect in a fourth rank empire on one side and the noble scion of a third rank empire on the other. The difference in their status was stark. It was as if the young lord of a rich merchant family had charged into the marketplace to match a successful vendor in a contest of wealth.
“Heh heh heh, if I could beat you as a dead dog three years ago, I will still beat you as a dead dog three years later!” Lu Yun cackled as he rapidly retreated.
“Shut up, you little piece of shit!” Cloudexit flew into a rage.
“Hmph, am I supposed to fight you just because you want me to fight? Your Nineheavens Pagoda bullied us through superior force three years ago and crippled my second uncle. He’s a cripple even now, so who knows what you guys will do this time if I fight you again?!” Lu Yun complained loudly, the very picture of being cautious of the sect, but not thinking much of Cloudexit.
“It’s not up to you if we fight or not!” Cloudexit was a renowned prodigal of Dark Orchid. Tyrannical, egotistical, ludicrous, and lascivious. Lu Yun’s retort instantly stoked his temper.
“Then this young master will sit here and let you beat me! You have the strength in numbers, so it’s a dishonorable victory no matter what!” Lu Yun curled his lip and plopped on the ground, ready to let his opponent beat him however he wished.
That made Cloudexit pause. He wanted to grind Lu Yun’s face into the ground with his cultivation, but it meant nothing if the other didn’t resist at all.
“You over there, this is between me and Lu Yun! Don’t interfere!” Cloudexit suddenly turned around and roared as his entourage.
