Myth Beyond Heaven

Chapter 2571: The Answer (1)

Chapter 2571: The Answer (1)

"In the God of Time's perception, you, Young Master, should have been dead a long time ago," Yun Ling continued. "It wasn't until recently that he found you again. Even if he wants to destroy you, it's too late now."

Yun Lintian nodded slowly and asked, "Then, who attacked me when I first entered the Divine Realm back then? And was it you who helped me?"

He still remembered the golden palm that descended on him out of the blue as he stepped out of the Azure World for the first time. It almost crippled him completely. If it weren't for Ning Yue, he would've died a long time ago.

"Yes, Master. My duty is to protect you when necessary," Yun Ling said softly. "The one who attacked you at that time was Fan Shen, but his power wasn't as powerful as it is today. He was the first one to discover you."

Yun Lintian frowned slightly. "I'm curious. So, Fan Shen isn't on the same side as the God of Time?"

It was clear that Tantai Xue and Jian Yun were supposed to be on Fan Shen's side, but now they were actually serving the Lord of Chaos. It was truly puzzling.

"Yes and no," Yun Ling explained. "During the Primordial War, the God of Mortals managed to kill the God of Time from another timeline and absorbed his power. He learned about your existence from this. However, since you were supposed to be dead, he had never set his sight on you until he passed down the legacy to Fan Shen."

"More precisely, he created Fan Shen. One day, Fan Shen discovered Yun Tian, and he noticed the similarity between Yun Tian's power and yours in another timeline. He began to track down Yun Tian until he found you."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Yun Lintian immediately understood the entire story. Basically, it was a pure coincidence that Fan Shen found the loophole of the plan through the God of Time, who had arrived in this timeline. Meanwhile, the God of Time of this timeline had long departed from the Primal Chaos and become the Lord of Chaos here.

Through Yun Tian's life trajectory, Fan Shen discovered Yun Lintian's existence, and he soon connected all the dots together. In his perception, Yun Lintian was supposed to be in another timeline and had been killed by the God of Time there. But since he was still alive and kicking here, it meant that the one who died over there wasn't him but another person, likely to be Yun Tian.

As for the Lord of Chaos, he had probably discovered Yun Lintian not long ago when he caused a commotion in the Primal Chaos.

"Where are my parents?" Yun Lintian asked.

Yun Ling's expression grew solemn as she looked at Yun Lintian. Her gaze was steady, but there was a flicker of something deeper-something Yun Lintian couldn't quite place. She hesitated for a moment, as if weighing her words carefully, before finally speaking.

"Your parents," she began, her voice calm but tinged with a hint of sorrow, "are currently fighting against the Lord of Chaos in multi-dimensional battlefields. They are preventing him from uniting with his other existences across the timelines."

"If the Lord of Chaos succeeds in merging all his versions, he will become unstoppable. Your parents are buying time for you, Young Master. They are holding the line so that you can grow stronger and fulfill your destiny."

Yun Lintian's heart clenched at her words. He had always wondered about his parents, about where they were and why they had left him. Now, hearing that they were still fighting, still protecting him even after all these years, filled him with a mix of emotions-relief, gratitude, and a deep, aching longing.

"They're still alive?" he asked, his voice trembling with hope and disbelief. "But... my father left messages for me. He said he was already dead. He said it many times. How can he still be fighting if he's dead?"

Yun Ling's expression grew even more somber. She looked at Yun Lintian with a mixture of pity and resolve, as if she knew the answer to his question but wasn't sure how to deliver it. Finally, she sighed softly and spoke.

"Technically, the patriarch is already dead," she said, her voice gentle but firm. "But in the world of cultivation, especially at the level your parents operate on, death is not always as final as it seems. Your father sacrificed himself to create a barrier that prevents the Lord of Chaos from fully manifesting in this timeline. His essence, his will, and his power are still fighting, even though his physical form is gone."

Yun Lintian's breath caught in his throat. He felt as if the ground had been ripped out from under him. His father... was dead? But at the same time, he wasn't? The contradiction was too much to process, and he struggled to make sense of it.

"I don't understand," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "How can he be dead and still fighting? How can he leave messages for me if he's gone?"

Yun Ling's gaze softened, and she placed a hand on his shoulder. "It's difficult to explain, Young Master. Your father's sacrifice was not just a physical one. He gave up his life to become a part of the very fabric of the multi-dimensional battlefields. His consciousness, his will, and his power are still there, fighting alongside your mother and the other Primordial Gods. The messages you received were echoes of his essence, remnants of his will reaching out to guide you."

Yun Lintian's mind raced, trying to grasp the enormity of what she was saying. His father had given up everything—his life, his physical form-to protect him, to protect the realm. And yet, in some way, he was still there, still fighting. It was both comforting and heartbreaking. "And my mother?" he asked, his voice trembling. "Is she...?"

"Your mother is still alive," Yun Ling said quickly, her tone reassuring. "She is fighting alongside your father's essence, holding the line against the Lord of Chaos. But her strength is not infinite, Young Master. The longer the battle drags on, the more she risks losing herself. That is why it is so important for you to grow stronger. You are the key to ending this war."

Yun Lintian clenched his fists, his resolve hardening. He had spent so much of his life feeling lost, feeling like he was wandering without purpose. But now, everything was clear. His parents had sacrificed everything for him, for the realm. And now, it was his turn to step up, to fulfill the destiny they had prepared him for.

"I'll do it," he said, his voice firm and unwavering. "I'll grow stronger. I'll stop the Lord of Chaos. I won't let their sacrifices be in vain."
