My Unconventional Lover: Seeing A Different World

Chapter 60

Chapter 60: Scare The Only Person That Can Make You Blush

Everybody was looking at me when I came out from Mr. Sanjaya, no, Sanji’s office –he insisted to make me call him Sanji without any honorifics. I could see the big question mark on top of their head.

Why would a Civil Engineering student be in the office of Computer Engineering’s lecturer?

Those busybody people seriously needed to stop putting their nose in other people’s business. They needed to learn not to be overly curious. After all, curiousity killed the cat.

If they knew their idol was engaged to me, how many hearts would be broken by the news?

And how much insults would I get?

“Hey, Junior. Why did you come out from Mr. Sanji’s room?”

I turned my head to see the one who was asking me. It was Senior Mario. Behind him was his friends, the other Seniors that I have already known before.

.....

“Ah, I-I...” What should I tell them?

“Are you two dating?” Senior Dino’s eyes widened in surprise.

“No!” I quickly denied. “No, of course no.”

Shaking my head hastily, I tried to make it sounded and looked natural. “Senior, please, watch what you said. Don’t you know Mr. Sanjaya has an army of fan girls protecting him? What would I be if I crossed them?” Shivering from the horrid thought, I thought I managed to make my act so real.

“So what? Those rabid fan girls can all go to hell! Mr. Sanji barely has time to date and now they all want to take away his opportunity to date any girl he wants? What’s wrong with them?” Senior Dino hastily responded, obviously disgusted with Sanji’s fan girls.

And, what he said was true, anyway. I couldn’t say anything anymore.

“By the way, I notice you guys have been calling him Mr. Sanji. Are you guys close to him?” As far as I know, only those who are close to him would call him ‘Sanji’.

“Hell yeah! He is our big bro!” Senior Ando grinned with a proud look on his face.

I raised my eyebrows as I heard his answer. Come to think of it, there were other seniors present as well. I knew them but I was not close to them as I was with Senior Mario and friends.

They must be from other departments, right?

One, two, three, four, ... I unconsciously counted them. There were seven of them, including Senior Dino, Senior Mario, and Senior Ando. If I were right, the one with silky mid-length hair which was tied loosely was Senior Pico — I had no idea why his name was Pico — from Architecture Engineering; the one with tribal style hair was Senior Ricky from Automotive Engineering; the one with curly hair was Senior Farhan from Computer Engineering; and the last one was Senior Hani with his super short hair to the point he was almost bald, from Architecture Engineering.

“Are you done counting us?” Did I mention this almost bald Senior had a terrible temper?

He frowned slightly and I jumped a bit when I met his eyes. He looked so serious and uptight. Hastily, I turned my head away to avoid looking at him, then apologized for my rudeness.

Without waiting for another question to pop before me, I hastily excused myself and escaped from there.

“Ah, you scared her.” I vaguely heard Senior Ando’s words, with a hint of regret.

“What a great reaction, Bro! Blushing right now will not do you any good! You’ve just scared the only person that can make you blush!”

I almost stopped in my track when I heard it coming from Senior Mario’s mouth. The urge to turn around was so big I almost fell into temptation. But, I wouldn’t do that. Not when they could still see me. So, I ran even faster.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to return because my class had started.

And I didn’t have time to think about the ‘blushing’ as I was soon got occupied with my assignments.

———-

I spent my whole day working on my assignments for two subjects. All the counting and numbers made my head spin as soon as my focus got distracted. Good thing that I got distracted only after I’ve finished the assignments.

Collecting my stuffs from the table, I began to put them in my bag. It was almost 7 in the evening and the sky had turned dark completely. Only the lights from the street lamps brightened the road and there were only few people left in the campus.

I stretched my body, popping the stiff joints in my body and moaned in satisfaction. Flung my back pack to my shoulder, I walked out of the library with the intention of going home.

Campus was always scary at night but it had never made me scared before. Somehow, for some unknown reason, I could feel the eerie pressure in the air. My heart started to thump louder and faster all of sudden. Something told me to hasten my steps, and I obeyed it.

Soon, my hastened pace turned into a run. Switching the position of my bag to the front, I ran towards the gate. But, the gate seemed so far away! I wanted to cry but no tears could come out!

Why? Why would the gate be so far?!

As the fear intensified and I almost broke in tears, a blinding light stopped beside me, along with the screeching sound of brake being stepped on, and a voice commanded me: “Hop on!”
