Chapter 30
Chapter 30: Strange Things and Jealousy (3)
I couldn’t say I wasn’t surprised. Worse, I was blushing. I was lucky she didn’t notice it. She didn’t even pay attention to me so I could hide it fast.
“Yeah. You’re right.” I smiled. Tom, where did you go actually?
She smiled and looked at me. “I’m fine now, thank you. You can go to campus or you’ll be late.”
I nodded and excused myself. As usual, my walk to campus felt alone and lonely. Tom had not been accompanying me for two months or since he left me to be exact. But, another thing hit me as I reached my campus and finished my class. That’s right, I forgot that I wouldn’t meet or see Senior Rizal here today. It was now officially lonely.
Anyway, what was Senior Rizal doing?
“Feeling lonely?” Someone teased me. As I turned around, Senior Aldo’s face greeted me with his smirk.
I hissed slightly. “What is it, Senior?”
.....
“Do you know where he is going? I didn’t meet him. I didn’t see him anywhere. His phone is also not active. It’s weird.” He frowned. Of course, he was talking about Senior Rizal.
I shrugged. “He said he had an urgent business that he needed to take care as soon as possible, that’s why he couldn’t come today.”
Senior Aldo nodded. “Then, I go first. If you get any news from him, contact me, okay?” He said as he waved goodbye to me.
I nodded and waved him back. I was alone again. Should I go back home? Crying? I got up and walked back home. I opened my room’s door weakly.
“I’m home...” I said weakly.
“Welcome home...” Someone greeted me.
I startled and looked straight in my room, eyeing the owner of the voice who greeted me. There he was, floating above my bed while smiling at me innocently. I closed my door and approached him. The longed in my heart couldn’t be held anymore. I reached out and hugged him for a long time. He felt cold and empty, but I didn’t care. No, I didn’t care at all.
“I miss you so much.” I whispered to him. “I love you...”
I could feel him hugging me back. “I love you more, Jane...” He whispered back, softly and gently.
I closed my eyes. Why did I feel so sleepy right now?
“Just take a rest. You’re tired.” He said softly.
I nodded and lied on my bed after throwing my bag besides my wardrobe. He followed me to lay beside me. Seeing him smiling gently, I felt content and in peace.
...
“I miss you, Tom...”
“I miss you too...” He replied. “I’m sorry for leaving you alone.” Half whispering, his voice laced with apology.
I shook my head. “I’m happy that you are here. But, please... don’t leave me again.” I said, still hugging him.
“Not a chance.” He tightened his hug on me.
I felt so right in his embrace. So content. So calm. So peaceful. It’s like I wanted to stay like this forever.
“If I propose you, will you say yes?” He asked.
I nodded. “Sure thing.” I answered full of determination.
“You’ve promised me about that.” I could feel him smiling even though my face was hidden in his chest.
I lifted up my chin to look at his eyes and nodded. “Sure.” I said.
He bowed down his head and kissed me again, softly. We kissed, for a long time.
...
I woke up and for the first time I felt the urge to keep sleeping to my heart content. In my dream, I could touch him; hug him, as if he had a body. I even could kiss him and make love to him without any worries.
That’s not the point, but I thought that was important, too. The point was I could be together with him again.
But, I thought I forgot something important. What was it?
