Chapter 72 Bye Polly

[Breath of the Dragon Sword]

[Grade: Elite]

[Durability: 100/100]

[People called it a dragon, even though it was a lizard kind of monster. Faith can awaken the dragon within everyone. I made this sword with love, and please don't mention why it doesn't even have the slightest shape of a dragon, even though it has the word dragon in its name. As I said, you can be whatever you want, and so does this sword. So please don't judge the sword by its appearance alone, okay?]

[Skills:]

[1. Dragon Breath: Send out mana-filled breaths with special properties that can inflict different status effects on enemies, making use of Fire, Inferno, or Lightning elements. With 400% elemental magic damage. (Cooldown: 30 minutes)]

[2. Dragon's Fury: Allows the user to significantly reduce all forms of magical resistance on the enemy until the end of the battle. A large amount of Mana and Stamina usage. (Cooldown: 3 hours)]

"Is it real?" Muramoto asked once again when Nathan shared his new weapon's status.

Nathan put his hands around the hilt of the sword as he replied, "Yes, I think the price paid to buy this thing is quite worth it. However, even for Lily, I think that the amount of money is still too high for her. Is she okay with giving this thing to me?"

Muramoto held his hands together as if he was praying before the blade. "I hope so," He whispered. "Or maybe you could thank her later when we see her again at CEHA?"

Nathan nodded slowly in agreement. "How much is this, again? As far as I remember, it cost about two million dollars."

"That's correct." Muramoto smiled weakly and bowed respectfully toward Nathan. "That is the gross income of a tier 2 hunter who has worked desperately for one year. While in reality, we can only save about five percent of the total income."

"What...! Are you kidding? It doesn't seem to be easy to get rich by being a hunter." Nathan said in shock.

"It's true that hunters must pay several fees each month. The first fee that we need to cover is the very high tax, and then weapons and armors that we need to change regularly, like two to three times a year. Food, shelter, etcetera. And that's all only left us with around five percent of the income." Muramoto explained with sadness in his eyes.

"But you're still doing it, aren't you?"

"I'm not complaining. I'm just saying that it's not easy. Most of us felt proud when they were chosen and got an awakening. We have a dream, I have a dream too." Muramoto said.

"Don't you want to tell me what your dream is, Muramoto?" Nathan asked.

"Hmmm..." Muramoto scratched the back of his head. "Ahahaha, I'm too shy to tell you..."

Nathan smiled, "Don't worry, you can tell me when you are ready, and maybe you need help from me."

"Ehehehehe..." Muramoto's face suddenly turned red.

Nathan had never thought about how hard it would be to live as a hunter. After hearing all these details, he couldn't help but feel sorry for Muramoto. "I feel guilty spending money as I please to like this."

"I'm glad you understand," Muramoto said with gratefulness in his eyes. "What you have right now is a great gift, Nathan-san. Therefore, you have to be careful with what you have and what you spend. Sorry, I talk too much," He smiled widely and continued. "But don't worry, I will do anything to help you," he said enthusiastically.

They chatted for a while, then Muramoto excused himself to leave.

Nathan took out another sword from the inventory. He was holding two swords at the same time. "I'm pretty good at fighting with two swords. I think I can maximize the potential of these two swords."

Nathan turned to Polly, who was stunned to see him talking alone.

The white fox blinked in surprise and hid her head under her paws.

Luna immediately appeared near Nathan, floating and smiling in front of him. "That was a very impressive one, and would benefit your magic sword class, Master." She said and clapped her hands.

"You're not wrong there..." Nathan admitted, then raised both arms above his head and moved them side to side slowly. Then he stopped moving, his body completely still. A small red mark popped up on his forehead.

"Oh no! That is a dragon's fury effect!" Luna said and pointed at Nathan's forehead.

Nathan laughed nervously, "Really?"

"It is the skill which lets the user reduce the enemy's resistance to magic by a large amount. That is a very crazy skill for only an elite-grade weapon. The blacksmith who made this sword must be someone very talented." She explained excitedly.

"Really? I don't feel any different." Nathan answered.

"That doesn't mean that you haven't been affected." Luna explained, "You need to fight someone to see its effect."

"Well, that sounds like fun." Nathan said, then put his two swords back into the inventory.

He walked over to the bed and threw himself on it. The bed bounced lightly as he landed on it with a soft thud sound.

He closed his eyes.

"Master Nathan," He heard a voice, and he opened his eyes and saw Luna floating above him.

"Huh...? What's wrong, Luna?"

"Don't you intend to claim the prize from the quest you just completed? Do you want me to go for you?" She asked gently.

"No." Nathan replied shortly, "I'll do it myself."

[Congratulations, the 2nd Treasure Hunter Route Quest Cleared]

[You've got a reward of 70,000 Skill Points]

[You've got a reward of 1 New Skill Slot]

[You've got a reward of 1 Tier 1 - Skill Remover Token]

[You've got a reward of 2 Tier 1 - Skill Upgrader Tokens]

[You've got a reward of 1 Tier 2 - Skill Combine Tokens]

"Nice, really a very useful reward," Nathan whispered softly and looked at the token he received. "I have three available skill slots. And also these four tokens, which will also increase my fighting potential. And if I combine them with all skills, I already possess..." he thought.

The number of options that he could take increased rapidly in his head when combined with his current stats. He had to be careful about how to use them all. Or perhaps he should choose them according to the situation? In other words, there were too many choices that he needed to consider before making a choice.

"This is very exciting!" Luna said excitedly.

Nathan chuckled lightly and nodded. "It's not bad to have so many options open for me." Then he suddenly stopped laughing and said: "But I still haven't decided what kind of skill I'm going to create. What do you think, Luna?"

"I think you should make a new sword skill again." She suggested it immediately. "The combination of skills that you currently have supports you in carrying out brutal battles on the front lines. With high agility and fatal damage, you can become very strong against several enemies at once. It will also sync with your Barbarian class, Master. So, it makes sense if you want to strengthen yourself as a barbarian champion."

Nathan nodded slowly, then took a deep breath and exhaled. He stared into space for a while until his vision became blurred.

"What are you doing?" Luna asked curiously.

"I was just thinking." Nathan answered. "There isn't much time left for me. That means I need to decide fast."

"Then... How about another dual sword skill?" Luna suggested hesitantly. "Master Nathan." She looked at him.

Nathan shook his head lightly. "I'm too tired..."

Luna seemed a bit relieved. "And I think this is the right time for you to return to hibernation." She cupped her hands around her mouth and said. "Good night, Master! Have sweet dreams!"

Nathan felt very sleepy after hearing her voice and closed his eyes.

Polly and Fang jumped on the bed and slept around him.

Two days later. The day that they had been waiting for finally came.

That day, they will take the CEHA entrance test. One big thing they've been waiting for the last few days.

Nathan, Linda, and Muramoto were ready in the living room with their respective battle suits.

Nathan wore a black outfit from top to bottom and also a black cloak with maroon inside.

Linda wore a red dress and white skirt with white armor covering her chest and arms. She also wore white knee-high shoes.

Meanwhile, Muramoto wore a dominant green color battle suit with a yukata style.

"The next adventure starts now!" Polly shouted cheerfully.

Nathan patted the white fox's back gently. "Okay, Polly. I had to leave you alone in this house. Are you really going to be okay?"

"Don't worry, my master. You can trust me." she answered seriously. "After all, there is a lot of food here." She pouted at Nathan slightly as if she was teasing him. "And I still have enough energy to cast an illusion spell if something bad happens to me. So, don't worry!"

Linda laughed loudly at that. "Yeah right!" She clapped her hands together gleefully. "Polly, you are so cool. Please take care of the house and make sure the house is tidy when we get back." Then she changed the topic suddenly: "Well, let's get started then." She said with excitement.

They walked towards the door together.

Muramoto turned and waved at Polly. "We'll be gone in a week or two, Polly. Take care of yourself." He smiled at the white fox.

"I will," the little white fox promised happily while waving back. "May you pass the entrance exam and succeed," she whispered.

"Do your best, everyone!" She shouted louder.

"Bye Polly...."
