My Second Life in Another World

Chapter 95: Good Luck

Chapter 95: Good Luck

Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul.

Currently, all of the S-rank hunters were assembled here on the front line looking at the gate that was hanging in the sky.

"No matter how many times I see this gate, I can still feel my hair stand on end," Yoon-ho said as he looked at the gate.

"Why are you being such a scaredy-cat?" Jong-in said as he patted Yoon-ho's shoulder.

"Shut up you snake bastard," Yoon-ho said as he looked at Jong-in as his tiger tooth showed.

"What did you call me?" Jong-in moved his glasses as veins appeared on his temple.

And the two fought like how they usually do.

"And these two are at it again," Tae-gyu said as he smiled wryly.

"HAHAHA, they are always like this anyway," Dong-Wook said as he laughed heartily and started ordering his guild members to get into their positions.

All the high-rank hunters were present here at the moment. The S-ranks are in the very front with A-rank tankers and damage dealers forming a line behind them, magicians and healers in the backline, and A-rank and B-rank hunters protecting them.

While Yoon-ho and Jong-in were at each other's throats.

There were four people at the very front of the line two men and two women.

"When is the gate going to open?" Haru said while wearing crimson armor with numerous metal plates, forming protective guards along his chest, waist, shoulders, and thighs. Over a blue high-collared, long sleeve mantle that splits down the lower half, and blue pants with shin-length black shoes.

"Why are you being so lazy?" Jin-woo who wore a black trenchcoat over a white t-shirt with black pants and black shoes said as he clicked his tongue.

"I just don't like standing in one place for a long time," Haru said as he sat down on the floor.

"You see this?" Jin-woo looked at the Hae-in and Kanae

Hae-in was smiling wryly at Haru's behavior.

"I have long given up on correcting his nonchalant attitude." Kanae just shook her head as she rested her right hand on her katana's hilt.

'Well nothing is going to happen here anyway, it is just the remaining army of the former Shadow Monarch coming out of the gate.' Haru thought as he looked at the gate.

"Ohh, there is movement," Haru said as a large amount of magic was released from the gate causing the land to tremble as a wave of Mana swept the floor.

Crack* Crack*

A large amount of mana caused the hunters to sweat as the tension rose through the roof.

Tens of Thousands of Hunters surrounding the spot just below the gate held theirs breathed and waited. This was a memorable spectacle of countless hunters waiting for a single moment to happen.

The close-quarter-type Hunters waited as their grips on their weapons tightened, while Magicians and Archer-type Hunters started to ready their spells and arrows for a pre-emptive strike at a moment's notice.

Arrows laden with Mana and various spells ready to be cast were aimed at the sky.

The hunters who were looking at the sky looked down to see to figure of Jin-woo standing while at the sky and Haru...Sitting cross-legged on the floor.

'What is he doing?' That was the thought in everyone's mind as they looked at him. He was sitting down on the floor when the biggest gate of human history opened.

Well, they didn't get to focus on it.

"T-The gate opened." Someone shouted causing everyone to tense up.

"Get ready,"

Finally, the gate began opening up.

The wall separating this world and the gate disappeared and certain 'things' staying within finally began pouring out in endless droves, these creatures completely blotted the sky in no time.

The Hunters below became completely dumbfounded by the number of creatures that seemed to be at least over one hundred thousand.

"How?" Jin-woo said as he looked up at the creatures that were coming out of the gate with wide-open eyes even though he had a hunch after what igris said the other day he was still shocked.

"…" Haru just looked at the army that was descending from the gate and yawned as it was what he knew and nothing changed. He was just here in case something unexpected happened like when Jin-woo was kidnapped by the Dragon Monarch.

"Don't they look like your shadow Summons?" Haru asked Jin-woo causing Jin-woo to look at him.

Jin-woo nodded and looked up at the monsters that looked like his summons.

"But, how… how can that many monsters… at the same time?!"

"There, there are just too many!!!"

Gasps and screams thick with despair exploded out from here and there.

All those 'certain things' must've been under the influence of gravity-reduction magic, because they all landed on the ground very slowly.

"Attack! Hurry, attack!"

"Everyone, attack!"

Before those things land on the ground, they should try to reduce their numbers, at least by a little bit. Hunters sensed that their opportunity was here and began making their moves.

Magic spells ready to cast gleamed brightly from their hands and bowstrings aimed at the sky were all pulled taut. Tankers raised their shields right near their chins to get ready for close-quarters combat with those descending things.

But then, before the concentrated firepower from the Hunters could pour out, Jin-Woo loudly yelled out.

[Nobody move!]

Jin-Woo's will, carried by Mana, was clearly transmitted to even those Hunters who didn't know any Korean. And it made everyone stop what they were doing.

'But, why?'

'Why did he stop us from attacking?'

Even though tens of thousands of Hunters were staring at him with eyes that screamed, 'I don't understand', Jin-Woo simply repeated what he said.

[Everyone, don't move.]

"What are you doing?" Haru asked as he rasied his eyes.

"I don't think they are enemies," Jin-woo said as he felt his black heart beating more vigorously.

Haru just shrugged as he knew they weren't enemies but he had to ask.

"Do not attack." Haru also said as he looked back his haki imbued in his voice causing everyone to stagnate.

'What are they thinking?'

If they don't attack now, then those creatures would land safely on the ground. When the battle breaks out in that situation, the Hunters out in front could get sucked into the attacks fired from the back.

This means incidents of them worrying about the friendly fire would happen when they were already at a numerical disadvantage.

Go Gun-hee who was at the backline despite the many objections about him coming to the battlefield. He still came to the frontline but on the condition, he won't fight himself.

Jin-Chul quickly approached Go Gun-hee and looked at his boss with a worried expression.

"Association President…."

It was now time to make his decision. His head screamed at him to send out the word to start attacking, but in the end, Go gun-hee decided to trust Jin-Woo and Haru.

"Everyone, do not fire!"

"Do not fire!!"

Go Gun-hee was in charge of commanding the Hunters. So, rather understandably, they became quite dazed and lowered their hands when he began telling them not to attack.

'Just what are they thinking now?'

'They want to engage those things on the ground instead of hitting them first with ranged attacks? Against that many monsters???'

As confusion and terror began whipping up around the battlefield….

Eventually, those creatures landed on the ground.

The number of black monsters filling up the sights of the Hunters was so great that one's mind would grow faint just from the sheer scale.

From the gathered swarm of monsters, one particular being began walking out towards them. Jin-Woo, too, stepped forward.

Just what was going to happen from here onwards?

Hunters couldn't even breathe properly and closely watched Jin-Woo.

'...'

'...'

Jin-Woo stopped walking, and the 'Monster' also stopped walking as well.

And then….

The 'Monsters' looking at Jin-Woo suddenly knelt on the ground. And at that moment, the soldiers behind it also knelt at the same time.

Chut*

The spectacle of a hundred thousand-plus soldiers bowing their heads at the same time carried an incredible, overwhelming shock value.

After a short bout of silence passed, the 'Monster' kneeling right out in front raised its head and spoke.

[Grand-Marshal Bellion, here to humbly greet the Sovereign with his Shadow Army.]

'And this comes to an end just like this.' Haru thought as he looked at the scene in front of him.

Jin-woo called for his own Shadow army and they kneeled in front of him as well.

'Yes this is my complete shadow army,' Jin-woo thought as his heart raced faster and faster.

But he felt many gazes piercing his back so he looked back to see the thousands of Hunters with hundreds of reporters looking at him with a face that says.

'The fuck is going on here?'

And Jin-woo suddenly remembered.

'How am I supposed to explain this?

"Haru hel-" He then looked at Haru then veins started to appear on his forehead.

"Good luck explaining this," Haru said while grinning as he ate a mouthful of popcorn.

...…
