Chapter 140 Duke To Progenitor - Part 2

Huge amounts of rubble scattered throughout the area as the vampires continued their fight. Entire portions of the base came crashing to the ground as the shockwaves from their attacks broke the foundation of the walls. Amidst the dust and smoke, the Seventh Progenitor once again raised his weapon.

"Drink more, Belial."

In one powerful strike, Lest was once again sent crashing into the back wall. He covered his head as massive chunks of stone and cement fell down upon him. The pieces of material broke as they smashed into his arm, raining on the ground like sand.

Fuola tried to attack the Seventh Progenitor with his sword but the Progenitor managed to block every single one of his swings without much issue. Fuola simply wasn't fast or strong enough to break through the Seventh Progenitor's defence. Less than a second later, the Progenitor raised his sword and slashed at Fuola with immense strength.

Fuola's Magic Armor consumed the attack once again, however, it was clear that the armour was beginning to get worn down. Even the seemingly invincible armour was struggling against the pure might of the Seventh Progenitor's sword. Again and again, Fuola was unable to block the attacks, relying on his Magic Armor to protect him.

A few moments later, Lest rushed toward the Progenitor, swinging his deep red blade at his neck. The Progenitor managed to stop his attack, however, Fuola's blade was now approaching his side. He quickly manoeuvred the dodge the attack but Lest was swiftly pushing into his space. The Progenitor swung his sword, attempting to cut Lest down, but all of a sudden, Fuola stood in the way and absorbed the attack.

In the split-second opening, Lest concentrated his strength and swung his blade, cutting the Progenitor's arm clean off. With no hope of recovering it in the situation, the Progenitor was forced to retreat. It didn't take long for his arm to grow back however, but the delay left his body wide open.

Unable to block both Lest and Fuola's attack. He opted to position his blade to deflect Lest's, allowing the full strength of Fuola's swing hit his side.

"Lest, how did you manage to create such a powerful offspring."

"Ah, so now you're recognising his strength~"

"I don't understand, why does he have such a strong ability...?"

"Me neither honestly~"

There wasn't much time for small talk since the three vampires were again clashing blades. The Seventh Progenitor was clearly faster and stronger than them, but he still struggled to land effective strikes on the two of them. Despite slowly whittling down Fuola's Magic Armor, it was still proving to be a massive thorn in the Progenitor's back.

A few swings later, Lest managed to gain an opening and kicked the Progenitor into the wall. The impact wasn't enough to even cause a slight scratch on him, but it did buy time for the two to trap him in the corner.

Now, the Progenitor had nowhere to run aside from through them.

They continued to smash each other's weapons, attempting to land a clean hit. Fuola's Magic Armour was still stopping the Progenitor from dealing any significant damage. Eventually, the Progenitor managed to gain some space and broke through the swings.

In one big strike, he managed to break through Fuola's Magic Armour, cutting into Fuola's flesh. Lest cut off the Progenitor's hand as Fuola began regenerating his injury. The scene was pure chaos; rubble and dust filled the air as the vampires continuously fought each other.

In a fit of desperation, Lest sacrificed more of his blood to his sword.

"Sword, take any spare blood I have, drink it all."

The remainder of Lest's spare blood dribbled down his arm into his sword. His vision began getting blurry and his balance was slightly off. However, the strength in his sword was unparalleled. At this point, his sword had more power than the Progenitor.

"Fuola, get out of the way."

As Fuola dived out of the way, Lest swung his sword as hard as he could. The Progenitor tried to block it, however, it was simply too strong. He broke straight through the Progenitor's guard and launched him several metres, digging a huge hole in the wall. The entire area was filled with so much dust and debris that it became difficult to breathe.

However, as Lest walked closer to the Progenitor, he saw that he was struggling to get back up. Both of the vampires had used up an incredibly large amount of energy and now they looked at each other with a dark glare.

"Lest... your Progenitor is just lucky."

"What are you saying?"

"I was born weaker than all of them, all I could do was make more offspring."

"I don't care."

"This world isn't fair, no world is. I hate it, I hate all of it."

Raising his sword above his head, Lest prepared to finish him off. However, before he could swing it, the Progenitor stabbed him through the stomach in one last show of dismay. Unfazed by this, Lest jerked the sword, causing the Progenitor to fall to the ground, hugging his sword in his arms.

"Belial, I sacrifice myself... curse the Second Progenitor..."

"Huh, what are you do—"

Suddenly, a bright light filled the room. It illuminated the entire area, blinding everything in its path. A few moments later, the corpse of the Seventh Progenitor slowly fizzled away.

As Lest looked around, he noticed nothing out of the ordinary, but the Seventh Progenitor's last words worried him.

"Curse? What did he mean by that...?"

However, now that the fight was over, he made his way over to Fuola who was on the ground, catching his breath.

"It's over now, I hope."

Fuola looked up at Lest.

"So... what now?"

Lest took a moment to think.

"Are you hungry?" he asked.

"A little."

"Let's go have a snack then~"

"Alright."
