Lu Weixi was startled when she was yanked by that man. She nearly twisted her ankle and her head landed in his chest. Looking up, she didn’t have to guess who could do such a thing. Aside from a real villain, it could only be Qin Zhiyou.

“What are you doing, Qin Zhiyou!” She exclaimed. He had appeared so suddenly without a greeting. And it wasn’t just him, his assistant Mr. Wang was missing, and the car they were in wasn’t the Mercedes he usually rode in, nor that flashy red sports car, and not even the BMW. It was a Maybach.

“Why did you come here alone? Where’s Mr. Wang? And what about your car?”

Lu Weixi asked a series of questions, but Qin Zhiyou didn’t answer any of them. He only muttered, “Why did you come down with him?”

Lu Weixi replied, “He wanted to talk to me about my mother’s condition. I didn’t have my car, so he thought he could give me a ride.”

“A ride?” Qin Zhiyou sneered, “What kind of route would conveniently lead to the Qin family’s mansion?”

Lu Weixi explained, “I didn’t intend for him to drop me off at the Qin mansion. It’s hard to get a taxi here, so I thought I could hitch a ride with him to somewhere nearby where I could easily hail one.”

The only response from Qin Zhiyou was a scoff, “He knows we’re married, right?”

Lu Weixi was taken aback a bit.

Perhaps he didn’t know before, but after these recent incidents, with my mother often talking about us divorcing, how could he not know?

Upon thinking about it, Zhao Zihao truly was indifferent to appearances, treating her as he always did. It was because he never acted too intimate with her that she assumed they had nothing to hide.

“Regardless, I have to say goodbye to him.” Lu Weixi raised her head to see Zhao Zihao standing not too far away, his smile gentle, and he hadn’t moved at all. As the lead attending physician, Zhao Zihao had been dedicated and kind. She wouldn’t want to offend him, especially since he hadn’t done anything wrong.

As Lu Weixi stepped out of the car, and started to say, “Dr. Zhao…”, Qin Zhiyou also came down from the car, his arm around her shoulder. He began to speak in a cool tone, “I appreciate you treating my mother-in-law. If there’s anything else, we can discuss it at your office later. We both have to leave now.”

After he said those words, he once again led Lu Weixi back to the car, pressing a button to shut the door.

Lu Weixi was about to say goodbye to Zhao Zihao, but she couldn’t find anything wrong with what Qin Zhiyou had said. His tone was polite and she was a bit startled.

By the time she fully processed what had happened, Qin Zhiyou had already pushed her back into the car and closed the door.

Just as she was about to say something, Qin Zhiyou began to respond to her initial questions, “I left Mr. Wang at the company due to some business. Your whereabouts, I got from your assistant through Mr. Wang. She said you left work early to visit your mother at the hospital. I arrived at the hospital and had just parked the car. Before I could find you, I saw that doctor and you came out together. As for the car, I have several others. I drive whichever one I want.”

Lu Weixi was speechless. Fine, he had multiple cars and that made him impressive. She turned to fasten her seatbelt, but Qin Zhiyou leaned over to buckle it for her.

Once the seatbelt was fastened, he didn’t pull away, but kissed her directly on the lips.

Zhao Zihao, driving his car, passed by their car. Seeing the overlapping silhouettes in the passenger seat, he looked coldly at the scene, turned the steering wheel, and drove away.
