Chapter 64 Going To The Warehouse
"That task can not be done unless all the students work as a team to move the boulder. So I would suggest you should focus on finishing your first task before going for the river streamline." The old man said as he knew it wasn't a task that only one team would be able to finish all alone.
"Okay, Senior. We will keep that in mind." Yue Yan spoke as he stood up, the boy wasn't going to take any of the old man's advice to himself as he knew the village head was a sly fox.
The trio decided to take leave as they had to prepare for their mission and get familiar with the village.
Yue Yan and the Shangguan Sisters walked out of the village head house as they decided to find their lodging first before doing anything.
They walked towards the warehouse on the eastern side of the village, the sun was already high in the sky, shining down with a warm, golden light.
As they were walking in the direction their destination, Ling'er said, "It was good we came before other teams or we wouldn't able to get the living quarter here and would've to build one for us just like how we had to make it in the wilderness. The village head seems like a nice person, it's a pity that their ration sources were destroyed by the black-robed bandits."
Yue Yan had a faint smile on his face as he heard her mumbling. The girl saw how he was smiling at her words, she raised her eyebrows and asked in an annoyed tone, "Hey, why are you making fun of me in your mind."
"Because you were deceived by that old man's words." He responded, walking along with the Shangguan sisters.
"What do you mean deceived?" the crimson-haired beauty asked in puzzlement even Bing'er who was walking beside her sister looked perplexed hearing his words.
"This is all a fake story, there weren't any black-robed people who came here. When we entered the room, the old man tried to inspect us all with his spiritual power, if I'm not wrong his spirit energy rank should be at least 60 which is more than enough to hunt many wild beasts in the forest nearby. Even the old lady was a high-level ranker.
Although they are misleading us but their only intention is to motivate us for this task because students' young age emotions for helping the poor and doing a good deed would stimulate them to perform better." Yue Yan explained as he had figured out the strategy of the tianhai academy.
The Shangguan Sisters had their eyes wide open hearing his theory which seemed to be possible even though they still had some doubts about it.
They made their way towards the eastern street to reach the warehouse which was the largest building in the village as it kept all the ration. However, the trio knew that the food they were going to supply here would be kept in a spatial storage ring.
It was one story building but twenty times larger than the village head's house as it was spread over a big area. There were small quarters made around this building which was part of the warehouse. There was a wall made of clay surrounding its perimeter with some lush green trees.
They could see that it was a large building made of sturdy stone, with large wooden doors that were firmly closed. The sun shone down upon the warehouse, highlighting the rough edges of the stones and casting deep shadows in the doorways.
When Trio reached the entrance they could see a middle-aged man in his early thirties laying on a folding metal bed under the shade of a thick tree.
The middle-aged man climbed down from his bed, his eyebrows were scrunched, showing he was puzzled as he saw the uninvited guest entering the warehouse periphery.
"Sorry for disturbing you, We have been sent here by the village head. He said we would get our living quarters here." Ling'er spoke as the middle-aged man approached them.
Hearing their statement and observing their dresses, it didn't take him much time to realize who they were.
A bright smile shone on his face as he said, "Oh... You guys must be from the Tianhai academy. Father had told me about this yesterday but I almost forgot. My name is Dong Ju, it's a pleasure to have you here."
Yue Yan and company were surprised as they were greeted very warmly by the middle-aged man. They didn't expect someone from the village to welcome them in a generous way using such socializing words which belong to city people.
"Thank you, Senior Dong Ju," Ling'er said politely as the duo behind her stayed quiet.
Bing'er was calm because of Yue Yan but the crimson-haired beauty was already used to it thinking her sister is cured. The boy was silent because he didn't think of using his energy when there was a leader to do all these formalities.
"Come I will show you your living quarter." The middle-aged man said.
Dong Ju led them towards the right side of the warehouse where a small living quarter was present.
As he was standing in front of a dusty door, the middle-aged man put his hands in his pocket to search for something.
The trio watched his action which was making him look funny but they didn't laugh as it could be rude.
After a dozen seconds passed, he found what he was searching for as a rusty key came out from his side pocket. With a smile he put the key in the mouth of the padlock, making a turn to open it but it didn't open and got stuck inside.
"Haha... It's been some time since we have used this place so the lock seems to be a little rusty. Don't worry it will open soon. Give me two seconds." Dong Ju said with a bittersweet smile as the key was coming out of the padlock.
