Chapter 36: Substituting for Work

“So boring.”

Smith laid on the sofa in his office.

It has been a week since Ophelia was taken into the investigation department. She has not been out since.

Smith was depressed.

He could go out and find poor prostitutes for warmth.

He initially thought that it was Eve who asked him, but it did not sound like her. Her voice sounded more like Ophelia.

Smith got up and saw that it was indeed Ophelia.

“Why are you out?” asked Smith.

“Why are you surprised, Boss Chen? Isn’t it incredible? The spy that you personally sent in for investigation had been released.”

“Do you want me to get shot or locked up for life?” asked Ophelia with narrowed eyes.

“No, you know that’s not what I meant. I’m happy, really happy!”

Smith shook his head immediately.

Ophelia snorted coldly and was very dissatisfied with Smith’s answer.

At the same time, Eve walked over.

“Boss, Ophelia will take over my future works. She will also be the liaison between the investigator and you,” said Eve.

“What? How did she become an investigator?”

He could not understand it at all.

“Can you change the investigator to someone else?” asked Smith. He was being cautious.

“Why? Do you think I’m not suitable?”

Ophelia questioned Smith before Eve could even respond.

“No, how can that be? I’m just afraid that you’ll be tired.”

Smith shook his head.

“Okay, since the boss is fine, I’ll leave first. From now on, I’ll do the company’s internal work, and Ophelia will take over as the Secretary.”

Eve then left the office.

“Do you want some tea? I’ll make some tea for you,” said Smith. He felt a little awkward.

“I wouldn’t dare to trouble the boss to make tea.”

“What are you angry about?”

Smith suddenly felt a little angry.

She used to be a spy.

After Ophelia stared at him for a long time, her eyes suddenly turned red. She laid on his sofa and cried.

He was wrong about her. She even went to learn that for him.

On the way back, Smith took out his phone.

He was researching on how to coax a girl so that she would not be angry.

There were suggestions such as buying gifts, using romantic words, accompanying her shopping, emptying the shopping cart, and so on.

Someone wrote, “What are you trying to coax her for? Is she your girlfriend? Are you done with her?”

“As long as you’re done with her, there’s no need to coax her. Just bring her home and get it over with.”

Smith was instantly enlightened after seeing his reply.

He was good at it after all.

When Smith returned to his office, Ophelia stopped crying. She was sitting on the sofa sulking.

When she saw that Smith had returned, she also ignored him.
