Chapter 171 Reunion With The Fifth Princess
Chapter 171 Reunion With The Fifth Princess
Wang Zhiqing's carriage came to a halt outside the gates of the Feng Clan's temporary residence.
Guards stationed at the entrance immediately recognized the royal insignia on her carriage and stepped aside, bowing respectfully.
(Again? Who is it this time?)
They thought.
Because of the Third Prince, just seeing the Royal Insignia made them annoyed.
They had just finished dealing with the Third Prince, and now they were needed to deal with another royal.
Captain Hua dismounted first, her sharp gaze scanning the surroundings before nodding to the princess.
Wang Zhiqing emerged gracefully, her crimson and gold robes catching the light of the setting sun.
Her beauty was dazzling, and every movement exuded a regal charm that seemed to draw the attention of everyone nearby.
The Feng Clan guards exchanged glances, their expressions betraying awe and admiration.
Even the Feng Clan member in the courtyard who had been talking about the Third Prince paused when they saw the Fifth Princess.
"Who is she? So beautiful!"
"Fairy! It must be a fairy!"
"Look, it's the Royal Insignia. It must be a princess!"
They began to shift their attention to the new guest.
"OMG! It's the Fifth Princess!"
Feng Ruolan exclaimed in surprise. As one of her fans, it would be weird for her not to recognize the Fifth Princess.
"Is she really the Fifth Princess? I've heard rumors of her beauty, but seeing her in person... she's like a celestial fairy descended to the mortal realm," Feng Liang said.
He had to admit, the Fifth Princess was truly elegant and beautiful as Feng Roulan has said.
"No wonder they say she's one of the Top Beauties of the Azure Sky Empire. She's absolutely breathtaking," Feng Jianhong added.
"Do you think she is here to meet the clan leader? Perhaps there is something going on between the two!" Feng Ruolan said excitedly.
Others didn't agree or disagree but continued to watch the situation unfold.
Captain Hua stepped forward, her imposing figure radiating authority.
Her armor gleamed in the fading sunlight, and her sharp gaze met that of the Feng Clan guard stationed at the gate.
Unlike the Third Prince's entourage, which had barged in with haughty arrogance, Captain Hua's demeanor was composed yet commanding.
"Please inform your Clan Leader that Her Royal Highness, the Fifth Princess Wang Zhiqing, requests an audience," she said, her tone polite but firm.
The Feng Clan guard, taken aback by her courteous manner, immediately bowed.
"At once, Captain. Please wait here for a moment."
The guard hurried off toward the main hall, leaving the Feng Clan members lingering near the gate to continue their speculations.
Meanwhile, Feng Chen was discussing matters with the Third Prince and the elders. Although he wasn't too worried, the Grand Elders and others, who didn't know that Feng Chen was in the Spirit Severing Realm, were anxious.
"Although the Third Prince isn't too much of a threat, it is said that his mother is from the Tian Clan, which is considered one of the Top 3 strongest clans in the capital, with a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator," Grand Elder Feng Zhenshan began.
"If they were to get involved, it would be very difficult for our Feng Clan to resist the Third Prince after we've offended them today."
At the mention of the Tian Clan and the Nascent Soul Realm cultivator, everyone, excluding Feng Chen, wore a nervous expression.
After all, that was the pinnacle of existence in the Azure Sky Empire.
Of course, while they talked about the danger, they never thought about blaming Feng Chen for offending the Third Prince.
They focused only on the issue at hand and how to mitigate it.
"Since we've already offended the Third Prince, how about we make an alliance with another prince? That way, the Third Prince couldn't take revenge against us," Grand Elder Feng Zhenshan suggested.
Their clan was one of the strongest in the Eastern Region; it wouldn't be hard for them to serve any of the princes.
"I heard that the First Prince has a good personality, a calm demeanor, and good leadership. He also has the highest chance of ascending to the throne. He is a good choice!" one of the elders suggested.
Others nodded, feeling that the suggestion was quite good.
To protect themselves from the wrath of the Tian Clan's Nascent Soul Realm, they could only choose between the first and second princes, who also had the support of Nascent Soul Realm cultivators.
Between the two, the First Prince was the better choice!
"Chen'er, what do you think?" Feng Zhenshan asked.
"Hmmm... Don't think too much about the Third Prince or his backing. I already have a solution, and there is no need to form an alliance with any of the princes. Anyways, if the Third Prince wishes to stay alive, he would know better than to provoke me further!" Feng Chen answered confidently.
This statement could be considered arrogant, especially when one knows that Feng Chen is talking about not needing to worry about the Nascent Soul Realm cultivator or the Royal Family.
Moreover, Feng Chen spoke as if he could take the life of the Third Prince at any time.
Just when they wanted Feng Chen to explain the solution, a guard knocked on their
meeting room's door.
"What is it?"
Feng Zhenshan asked in a slightly irritated voice.
This was the second time they had been interrupted, and this time it was during a serious discussion.
"Clan Leader, esteemed elders, I beg your pardon for the interruption. Her Royal Highness, the Fifth Princess Wang Zhiqing, has arrived at our gates and requests ann/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
audience."
The room fell into silence.
"The Fifth Princess?"
Feng Zhenshan echoed, his brows furrowing in thought.
"What business could she have with our Feng Clan at such a time?" another elder
mused.
Feng Chen's lips curled into a faint smile, his eyes glinting with intrigue.
"It seems our day is far from over. Let us not keep the princess waiting"
The elders nodded in agreement, though some still bore skeptical expressions. The timing of the princess's visit was curious, and her motives were unclear.
Feng Chen rose from his seat, his robes flowing with an air of authority.
(Why is she here? Could she have found the information about the disappearance of
my parents?)
"Bring her to the reception hall. I will meet her there."
The guard bowed and hurried off to relay the instructions.
(Could it be?)
Feng Zhenshan seemed to have guessed something in his heart as he looked at Feng
Chen with widened eyes.
(The solution that Chen'er was talking about is whether it could be related to the Fifth Princess. Did he decide to support the Fifth Princess?)
Feng Zhenshan had many thoughts and began to speculate on the relationship
between her and Feng Chen.
Although he wasn't sure, judging by how they got such a mansion as a gift from the Fifth Princess, he was sure the relationship was good.
Additionally, Feng Chen didn't even let the Third Prince in, while the Fifth Princess
was directly called upon.
"Anyways, we shall do what Chen'er commands!" Feng Zhenshan muttered as he
followed behind Feng Chen.
Wang Zhiqing entered the reception area. As it had once been her mansion, there was
no way she would get lost.
Beside her was only Captain Hua. Bringing many guards could be considered rude, so
they were commanded to wait outside.
Wang Zhiqing was nervous all the way and didn't even notice the people staring at her.
Taking a deep breath, she entered the reception hall.
Her eyes immediately fell upon Feng Chen, who sat at the center of the room.
(It is indeed him!)
Wang Zhiqing thought.
She had finally confirmed the identity of her savior and couldn't help but feel better
about her chances.
Captain Hua also saw Feng Chen with widened eyes.
She had never thought that the powerful person who could casually kill a Rank 5
Monster would indeed be such a young person.
She had previously heard rumors about. Feng Chen but thought they were just exaggerated. But remembering the scene of him killing the Rank 5 Monster, she could only say that the rumors weren't exaggerated-they were understated.
As Wang Zhiqing entered the reception hall, the atmosphere grew more formal, and
the elders of the Feng Clan stood up from their seats, their expressions a mixture of respect and curiosity.
It was clear that they were unsure of how to handle such an unexpected royal visitor,
especially one of such beauty and status.
Although earlier they had disrespectfully chased away the Third Prince, it was because of his behavior, and in normal cases, they didn't want to offend any royal. "Your Royal Highness," Feng Zhenshan began, bowing slightly, "it is an honor to have you here. Please, do not stand on ceremony. Kindly take a seat."
The other elders nodded in agreement, their expressions softening as they gestured to
the chairs around the table.
Wang Zhiqing, though used to receiving the utmost respect, smiled gracefully at the
elder's words. She gave a small nod and, with a delicate motion, took her seat.
Captain Hua, ever vigilant, stood quietly behind her, observing the room with a sharp
eye.
Although Feng Chen was her savior and she trusted that he wouldn't harm Wang Zhiqing, she wouldn't compromise the Fifth Princess in any case. "Thank you for your courtesy," Wang Zhiqing said with a gentle bow of her head.
Her voice was soft but carried a warmth that seemed to ease the tension in the room.
"It's good to see you again!"
"Yes, it's been quite a while."
Feng Chen replied.
Wang Zhiqing's eyes glinted with curiosity as she studied him, her gaze lingering for a
moment longer than necessary.
Then, with a slight tilt of her head, she spoke again, her tone shifting to one of
genuine intrigue.
"I must admit, I never imagined that the person who saved me that day would be the famous Feng Chen, the Clan Leader of the Feng Clan."
