The weather forecast was very accurate, and a heavy downpour started today as expected.
The roads were congested. By the time Qiao Yin reached Dongfang Mu’s office, she was already somewhat delayed.

“No need to let him come up. I’ll go downstairs to meet him,” she said and quickly left the office, getting into the elevator.
She went to the first floor lobby and, sure enough, saw Qiao Haidong standing there.
He was wearing a light gray Armani suit, his hair neatly styled, even his shoes were polished to a sparkle. With his tall stature and outgoing face, he seemed like a successful middle-aged man.
His deceiving appearance was simply extraordinary.

Qiao Haidong was clearly upset. “My daughter works for the Eastern Empire. It’s not a problem if I come here for a visit. How am I harming you? Today, I purposefully dressed up. I didn’t embarrass you!”
“Who told you that I work here?” she asked.
“Madam Lu! Even other people know that you are working at Eastern Empire, but I, as the father, was kept in the dark. Couldn’t you tell me about it earlier? I was embarrassed in front of Madam Lu,” he explained.
“It must be her again! I am already divorced from Lu Lingche. Why does she keep meddling in my life?”
“Probably because Lu Lingche is not over you yet. Madam Lu is scared you might take her son again!” he suggested.
“Lu Lingche never liked me!”
Qiao Yin’s face turned pale with anger. “He was in love with Lan Yuyi before, and now he might be in love with the daughter of the Cui Family. In any case, he doesn’t like me. Go clear things up with Madam Lu, and tell her to stop meddling in my life.”
She didn’t get the love of Lu Lingche, and on top of that, why should she take the blame from Madam Lu every day?

Qiao Yin was taken aback: “How do you know? Do you know Cui Shuqian?”
“Madam Lu told me. Last night, after I returned home, I called her. She seemed to be in a good mood and said a lot,” he explained.
“She mentioned a woman named Cui Shuqian. She said that the Cui Family wanted to form a marital alliance with the Lu Family, but Lu Lingche did not like Cui Shuqian.”
“Moreover, she also said that Lu Lingche has decided to marry Lan Yuyi. The wedding is scheduled for next Saturday. She said the Lu family is planning a grand wedding so that everyone in the city can witness the love of Lu Lingche and Lan Yuyi.”
