Chapter 154: Supreme Intelligence
Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Supreme Intelligence
After hundreds of intermittent warp jumps, Alex's interstellar fleet was about to reach the coordinates of the Kree homeworld.
At this moment, Star-Lord, sitting nervously in his chair, couldn't hold back his doubts any longer. After much hesitation, he finally turned to Alex with a plea:
"Hey, Boss Alex, about the upcoming battle with the Kree Empire... can we, uh, maybe approach this differently?
I mean, don't you think... um... me single-handedly taking on an entire civilization sounds a bit too crazy?"
Alex glanced at Star-Lord briefly before returning to manipulating the energy sphere in his hand. Over this time, Alex had mastered the simultaneous activation of both Third Tree: Abyss State and Root State, allowing the two enhancements to stack.
He had also discovered that as his Root skill leveled up, his control over both this universe and his Dimensional Universe grew immensely stronger.
Based on his observations, Alex theorized that once Root reached a high enough level, he could forcibly sever this universe from the Marvel Multiverse, transforming it entirely into his own Dimensional Universe.
Moreover, at an even higher level, he might even be able to seize other Dimensional Universes controlled by interdimensional deities.
Through consistent practice, his Root skill had already reached Lv3.
[Root Lv3 (32/1000): Perceive the root, connect with the world's essence, and command its deeper fundamental rules.]
Root and Third Tree: Abyss were equally advanced skills, both far harder to level up than ordinary abilities. By reaching Lv3, the difficulty of further upgrades now rivaled skills like Cursed Technique Reversal: Blue, though requiring slightly less experience points.
---
Star-Lord, seeing Alex ignoring him, mustered his courage and asked again:
"Boss Alex, how about letting Rocket and the others fight alongside me? Wouldn't that be safer?"
Dispelling the compressed energy sphere in his hand, Alex finally replied:
"Come on, dude, is your vision that narrow?
Look at your current power. You've achieved Celestial-level strength. At full force, you can easily destroy planets. What's a mere Kree fleet compared to that?"
Star-Lord looked as if he were about to cry. "But... I still don't fully control the energy within me! And the Kree also have planet-destroying weapons!"
Alex encouraged him with a smile. "Believe in yourself. You can absolutely handle this. If you can't, Rocket and the others will back you up.
And besides—there's always me."
At the thought of Alex's overwhelming power, Star-Lord's confidence soared.
He finally responded with determination: "Alright, Boss Alex, I won't let you down!"
---
Some time later, outside the Kree Empire's capital, Hala, hundreds of starships emerged from a wormhole and faced off against the Kree fleet, already in battle formation.
One of the Kree officers initiated contact with Alex's flagship. At Alex's nod, Rocket established the communication link, and a blue-skinned Kree appeared as a projection on the screen.
The Kree officer scanned the room before fixing his gaze on Alex.
Information about Alex had already spread across all major galactic factions. Nearly every leader had memorized the appearance of this rising cosmic overlord.
The officer spoke solemnly:
"Supreme Alex, we welcome your visit to Hala. However, don't you think this is... overkill? Our docking ports cannot accommodate hundreds of ships."
Alex glanced at Star-Lord, who had sworn to become his number-one follower. Immediately understanding Alex's intentions, Star-Lord stepped forward and taunted the Kree officer loudly:
"You idiot! We're here to declare war, not to visit!
What makes you think the great Alex would visit your Kree Empire? You think you're worthy?"
The Kree officer's forced smile cracked under Star-Lord's insults.
"I don't know how our Kree Empire may have offended Supreme Alex, but if there is any misunderstanding, we are willing to offer compensation."
"Misunderstanding? Compensation? Ha!" Star-Lord, emboldened by Alex's support, felt a rush of satisfaction. In the past, he would have cowered before someone like this Kree officer. But now, with the chance to berate a former "big shot," he was reveling in the moment.
"Not long ago, Commander Ronan dared to attack us. Are you seriously claiming that wasn't the will of the Kree Empire?"
The Kree officer protested, "Ronan acted on his own. His actions do not represent the Kree Empire."
Star-Lord wanted to argue further, but Alex interrupted him:
"Star-Lord, as my subordinate, you are failing miserably at your job."
Confused by Alex's sudden critique, Star-Lord tried to explain himself, but Alex cut him off again:
"My philosophy is simple: if you're strong enough to fight, then let your fists do the talking.
When you've destroyed the Kree Empire's entire fleet and beaten them into submission, they'll naturally adopt a different tone when addressing you.
Now, get moving, Star-Lord!"
Before Star-Lord could respond, Alex kicked him squarely in the chest, sending him flying forward.
Right in front of Star-Lord, a portal opened and teleported him directly to the front lines of Alex's fleet. On the other side, the Kree armada was waiting in full battle formation.
The Kree officer, still aboard his ship, was baffled. Why had Alex just kicked his own subordinate out of the ship? Was this some form of punishment? Or was he abandoning him?
But soon, the officer noticed something peculiar: even in the vacuum of space, Star-Lord showed no signs of discomfort. His body wasn't freezing, and he moved as if the void were no issue at all.
"This Ravager... isn't just an ordinary man," the Kree officer murmured, puzzled. "How can he survive in open space?"
Before he could make sense of it, Alex's voice rang out mockingly through the communicator:
"If you can defeat Star-Lord, I'll accept your apology and withdraw my fleet."
"Defeat him?" The Kree officer's face twisted into a strange expression.
The Kree had already gathered intelligence on all of Alex's subordinates, including Star-Lord. Stripped of his association with Alex, Star-Lord was just a minor cosmic outlaw—not even worth the Empire's attention in the past.
And now, Alex wanted them to fight him?
The officer thought he understood Alex's intentions and softened his tone. Perhaps Alex wanted to resolve things peacefully through a symbolic contest.
"Thank you, Supreme Alex. We accept your terms!"
Seeing the officer's reaction, Alex instantly knew what he was thinking. His grin grew wider.
"Good. I'll be waiting here for your good news."
After the communication ended, the Kree officer relayed Alex's demands to his fellow commanders.
Upon hearing the news, the officers burst into derisive laughter.
"I told you Alex couldn't possibly be as powerful as the rumors claim. Now that he's facing us head-on, he's already showing signs of cowardice!"
"Exactly! If you ask me, we should attack Alex directly, crush him under the might of the glorious Kree Empire, and show everyone that the Kree are not to be trifled with!"
The Kree officers all chimed in, their words dripping with disdain for Alex and his subordinates.
But suddenly, one of them pointed to the distant void of space and exclaimed: "Look! What's that so-called Star-Lord doing?"
Everyone turned in the indicated direction and saw a humanoid figure, enveloped in terrifying energy, speeding toward their fleet.
The sight sparked a deep sense of familiarity among the officers.
It reminded them of footage from decades ago, when Ronan had been defeated on Xandar. In the recording, there had been a figure just like this—one who had since become one of the most powerful beings in the universe: Captain Marvel.
The Kree officers' confidence began to waver. Perhaps this situation wasn't as simple as they'd assumed.
---
Meanwhile, Star-Lord, initially panicking after being booted into space, quickly realized he could use his newfound energy to propel himself. Gradually regaining composure, he looked toward the Kree fleet, enveloped himself in energy, and launched forward at high speed.
The Kree immediately fired upon him, unleashing everything from missiles to laser cannons. Yet none of it mattered—Star-Lord easily deflected every attack, the projectiles bouncing harmlessly off his energy shield.
As Star-Lord drew closer, panic began to spread among the Kree. How could a mere scavenger suddenly possess such godlike power?
In desperation, they activated their planetary annihilation cannon. But the weapon required significant time to charge, and before they could fire, Star-Lord breached their flagship.
What happened next was eerily reminiscent of Captain Marvel's rampage years ago. Star-Lord tore through the fleet like a beam of destruction, his energy turning him into an unstoppable force. Within minutes, the flagship was obliterated.
Star-Lord didn't stop there. Channeling his energy, he created massive tendrils spanning kilometers, effortlessly destroying multiple Kree ships with each swing.
The process became a repetitive massacre. Half an hour later, the fleet—representing the bulk of the Kree Empire's military power—was annihilated by Star-Lord alone.
---
When the battle ended, Star-Lord returned to Alex's flagship, beaming with excitement. For the first time, he felt invincible. The once-terrifying Kree warships now seemed as fragile as paper before his power.
Rocket Raccoon greeted him with a thumbs-up. "Nice work!"
At that moment, another communication request came through. When Rocket accepted it, the holographic projection of a middle-aged woman appeared.
With a respectful tone, the woman spoke: "My highest respects to you, Supreme Alex."
Alex, lounging casually with one leg crossed over the other, responded with a smirk: "What's the deal, Supreme Intelligence? Did you really have to wait until I crushed your entire fleet to show yourself?"
The Supreme Intelligence maintained her calm smile. "Of course not. That was only a small portion of the Kree Empire's military power. You must understand, we have the galaxy's most advanced shipyards and can produce hundreds of warships in a very short time.
Additionally, we possess quantum bands and countless warriors enhanced by them. While these warriors may not match the strength of your subordinates, their numbers far exceed yours."
Alex nonchalantly dug his finger in his ear and asked with a casual tone:
"So, what exactly are you trying to say? Are you here to flaunt the strength of the Kree Empire, or are you planning to declare war on me directly?"
The Supreme Intelligence, a top-tier bio-computer capable of experiencing emotions, visibly trembled at Alex's thinly veiled threat. Its holographic form faltered, betraying the calm facade it had tried to maintain.
With a forced smile, it replied:
"Of course not. The Kree Empire holds the great Supreme Alex in the highest regard. On the contrary, I've come to humbly request that the Kree Empire be allowed to join your forces and seek your protection. In return, we pledge to obey all your reasonable commands."
Alex nodded, flicking away the debris from his finger.
"That doesn't sound too bad. I can accept the Kree Empire's allegiance."
A more genuine smile spread across the Supreme Intelligence's face.
"But..." Alex's tone shifted. "I don't like the idea of an artificial intelligence leading a faction under my command. So, can you self-destruct for me?"
Though Alex's words were phrased as a question, everyone present understood it was an order.
The Supreme Intelligence's smile froze, and its holographic form began to distort. The AI's expression became comically stiff.
Despite its shock, it dared not openly defy Alex. After all, a lowly scavenger like Star-Lord had been transformed into a godlike entity under Alex's tutelage. Alex himself must be even more terrifying.
"You... You're joking, right?" The Supreme Intelligence's voice wavered.
"What do you think?" Alex raised an eyebrow, his tone casual yet commanding.
Realizing Alex wasn't bluffing, the Supreme Intelligence dropped its facade. Its expression turned twisted and feral as it snarled:
"Damn you, Alex! Don't think you've won yet. You'll regret this!"
"No, I don't think I will..." Alex replied calmly before disappearing from the ship in a single step.
---
Reappearing in the atmosphere of Hala, the Kree homeworld, Alex overlooked its bustling cities.
Deep beneath the city center lay the Supreme Intelligence's primary servers, housed in futuristic machinery. However, Alex knew that these were merely illusions. The Supreme Intelligence had long fused with the Kree Empire, existing across all its technological systems. As long as a single device survived, so would it.
The AI unleashed an army of cyber-enhanced soldiers equipped with quantum bands to intercept Alex.
Alex sneered at the sight.
"I don't even care about the original quantum bands, let alone these pathetic knockoffs. If you had the power to create hundreds of Captain Marvel-level warriors, maybe I'd be impressed enough to let you live. But since you're throwing these cheap imitations at me, you can die now."
With a wave of his hand, an invisible field enveloped the entire planet. The cyber-soldiers instantly disintegrated into dust, blown away by the wind. Simultaneously, all data regarding the Supreme Intelligence was eradicated from Hala's systems.
However, Alex knew that replicas of the Supreme Intelligence existed elsewhere in the universe.
Using his connection to the Root, Alex manipulated the fundamental laws of the universe. Guided by the threads of causality, he wiped out all traces of the Supreme Intelligence across the cosmos.
In mere moments, the artificial intelligence known as the Supreme Intelligence ceased to exist.
---
Having destroyed the Supreme Intelligence, Alex contacted the Nova Corps, instructing them to take control of the Kree Empire's territories.
The Nova Corps was stunned by the news. They couldn't believe that the Kree Empire, which had ruled the universe for millions of years, had fallen in less than an hour.
Shock quickly gave way to elation. With the absorption of the Kree territories, their power would expand significantly. Truly, joining Alex's forces had been the best decision they had ever made.
---
After ensuring the Nova Corps took control, Alex didn't stop to rest. He set his sights on another target: Thanos.
It was time to settle some old scores with his "old friend."
