Chapter 6: My Deskmate Is Geng Geng?! Being Handsome Means Anything Goes!
Su Bai’s striking good looks were impossible to ignore. Nearly every woman who saw him glanced his way.
Tong Wenjie was no exception. After all, women could sometimes be even more direct than men in such matters.
When men gathered, they often discussed women; when women gathered, men were just as common a topic of conversation.
“Su Bai is so handsome. I wonder which lucky girl will win his heart in the future,” Tong Wenjie mused to herself before heading toward her car.
She had taken time off work to deal with Fang Yifan’s situation and needed to return to the office quickly, lest her colleagues start gossiping.
Fortunately, Ji Yangyang’s mother hadn’t pursued compensation for the Ferrari’s scratched paint, or the repair costs would have been significant.
Tonight, she resolved to give Fang Yifan a stern talking-to.
Lost in thought, Tong Wenjie drove away from Spring Breeze High School.
Meanwhile, Su Bai had arrived at the entrance of Class 3.
As he approached, he spotted Li Meng heading in the same direction. But she wasn’t alone—someone else was following her.
When Su Bai saw who it was, he could hardly believe his eyes.
“Geng Geng?”
[Geng Geng (耿耿): Gěng Gěng – Her name means “earnest” or “sincere,” reflecting her straightforward personality.]
Indeed, the girl trailing behind Li Meng was none other than Geng Geng from With You.
Su Bai hadn’t expected to see her here. Isn’t she supposed to be at Zhenhua High School? What is she doing at Spring Breeze?
Judging by the situation, it seemed she was a new transfer student, just like him.
Though still slightly bewildered, Su Bai began to realise that the world he had entered wasn’t just the universe of A Little Reunion. It seemed like a mash-up of multiple dramas—a chaotic blend of different storylines.
“Su Bai, perfect timing. I was about to introduce you two,” Li Meng said as she approached him.
She gestured toward the girl behind her.
“This is Geng Geng. Like you, she’s transferring to Spring Breeze High this year.”
Then, turning to Geng Geng, Li Meng added, “And this is Su Bai, the student I mentioned earlier.”
Su Bai and Geng Geng exchanged glances and smiled at each other.
“Hi, I’m Su Bai.”
“Hi, I’m Geng Geng.”
“Alright, you two, follow me. You’re both joining Class 3. I’ll introduce you to the rest of the students and assign your seats,” Li Meng said, leading the way into the classroom.
The previously noisy classroom fell silent as Su Bai and Geng Geng stepped inside.
“These are your new classmates for this year. Let’s give them a warm welcome,” Li Meng announced.
The room immediately filled with applause.
For the girls in the class, all eyes were on Su Bai.
His exceptional good looks made him an instant contender for the title of “Spring Breeze High’s heartthrob.”
The boys, on the other hand, focused on Geng Geng. There was little point in comparing themselves to Su Bai—even the few who stole a glance at him felt overshadowed by his near-perfect features.
“Alright, you two, introduce yourselves,” Li Meng prompted.
Su Bai looked at Geng Geng and said, “You go first.”
Geng Geng stepped forward without hesitation.
“Hi, everyone! I’m Geng Geng. I love photography, and I hope we can all become good friends. Let’s look after each other from now on!” she said warmly before returning to her place beside Su Bai.
Li Meng’s gaze shifted to Su Bai, prompting him to stand.
“Hi, I’m Su Bai,” he said simply before sitting down again.
“That’s it?” Li Meng asked, raising an eyebrow.
“That’s it,” Su Bai confirmed.
“Alright, then. Since you’re both new, you’ll sit together in the back row for now. We’ll make adjustments later if needed,” Li Meng decided.
As the class teacher, she knew better than to let students swap seats freely.
Thus, Su Bai and Geng Geng became temporary desk mates. Their pairing made sense—both were new students, and Su Bai’s height would have blocked the view of others if he sat further forward.
The two gathered their belongings and headed to the back of the classroom.
As they passed by, Qiao Yingzi and Huang Zhitao noticed them. Neither had heard about any new transfer students, let alone a girl now sharing a desk with Su Bai.
They both knew that sharing a desk in high school often led to closer relationships.
Qiao Yingzi, who was originally seated next to Huang Zhitao, suddenly wished she could swap places with Geng Geng. She even came up with a justification: Su Bai had just returned from abroad and might struggle to keep up with his studies. Since he was staying at her house, she felt it was her duty to help him.
Huang Zhitao, on the other hand, simply wanted to sit next to Su Bai because of his good looks. She believed being near such a handsome classmate would make her school days brighter.
Unfortunately for them, Li Meng didn’t give them a chance to intervene.
Resigned, the two girls turned their attention back to their desks.
Once Su Bai and Geng Geng had settled into their seats, Li Meng began the lesson.
As Year Three students, time was precious. The early start to the school year was meant to give them more time to prepare for exams.
“Alright, everyone, take out your books. Let’s get started,” Li Meng instructed, her voice cutting through the room.
Without hesitation, Su Bai grabbed his materials and opened his textbook.
The moment he flipped it open, however, he immediately sensed that something was off.
