Chapter 12: The Sexy Lady Teacher! Special Tutoring!

“Geng Geng, you’re now officially one of the photographers for the High School Entrance Pledge Rally,” Su Bai announced.

Geng Geng hadn’t expected that Su Bai could actually secure her this opportunity.

“Su Bai, you’re amazing!”

“Got to take care of my deskmate, right?” Su Bai replied with a grin.

Hearing his words made Geng Geng’s heart melt with warmth.

Since transferring to Spring Breeze High, this was the first time she had felt such gratitude.

She wholeheartedly agreed with Su Bai— deskmates should look out for each other.

And since Su Bai was being so good to her, she resolved to reciprocate.

As the Pledge Rally drew closer, Song Qian arrived at Spring Breeze High with the other parents.

“You really went all out today, Song Qian. You look so different!” Tong Wenjie exclaimed, immediately spotting Song Qian.

Tong Wenjie worked in public relations and was always meticulous about her own appearance, so she was quick to notice that Song Qian had dressed up.

Normally, Song Qian wore no makeup at all. Today, however, she was visibly dolled up—a difference that was impossible to miss.

“Well, it’s Yingzi’s Pledge Rally. I had to look my best to match the occasion,” Song Qian replied with a smile.

Tong Wenjie didn’t press further, though she suspected there was more to it.

Even if her suspicions were correct, she would never voice them outright. She valued her friendship with Song Qian too much to risk it.

Soon, Tong Wenjie spotted Li Meng, Fang Yifan’s homeroom teacher.

“Song Qian, I need to speak with Li Meng about Fang Yifan. I’ve been stressing about his situation all night,” Tong Wenjie said, dragging Fang Yuan along.

Song Qian nodded as her friends walked off, turning her attention to the students gathering on the field below.

Her gaze naturally sought out her daughter, but her eyes lingered longer in an attempt to spot Su Bai.

Though she wouldn’t admit it aloud, Song Qian knew that her extra effort in dressing up was for Su Bai to notice her.

Unfortunately, the sea of students in identical uniforms made it impossible to pick him out.

Surrounded by a crowd of enthusiastic parents waving various items, she knew Su Bai couldn’t possibly notice her either.

Feeling slightly dejected, she was startled when someone appeared beside her.

“Song Qian, how could you not tell me about Yingzi’s Pledge Rally? I had to come to cheer her on,” Qiao Weidong said.

Song Qian snorted coldly. “You’ve never cared much about Yingzi’s studies before. What’s the point of showing support now? Yingzi doesn’t need it.”

With that, she moved to distance herself, clearly unwilling to stay near him.

“I just wanted to support Yingzi,” Qiao Weidong explained hurriedly.

“She doesn’t need it. Go back to Xiao Meng; Yingzi is mine,” Song Qian retorted, cutting off further conversation.

Watching her walk away, Qiao Weidong sighed, feeling helpless.

He understood that Song Qian was still upset—likely over his bringing Xiao Meng along last time.

“This is my own doing,” he muttered to himself, half wishing he could slap some sense into himself.

Before he could dwell further, the Pledge Rally began, forcing him to shelve his frustrations and focus on cheering for his daughter.

As the rally progressed, an incident involving Fang Yifan created a brief commotion.

He fell from a height but, afraid of being scolded, pretended to faint.

With Fang Yifan sent to the hospital, the responsibility for photography fell squarely on Geng Geng’s shoulders.

Watching Geng Geng confidently wield her camera, Li Meng was impressed by Su Bai’s foresight.

When Su Bai approached her to suggest adding Geng Geng as a photographer, Li Meng had been hesitant.

As a newcomer, Geng Geng’s photography skills were unproven. Meanwhile, Fang Yifan, who frequently took photos with his phone, at least had some experience.

But Su Bai had insisted on preparing for contingencies, and now his foresight had paid off.

“Li Meng, the balloon release ceremony is next. Shall we check on the students’ preparations?” another teacher asked, interrupting Li Meng’s thoughts.

[Balloon Release Ceremony: Symbolises students’ dreams and aspirations, with balloons carrying messages about their desired universities or goals into the sky. It represents hope and ambition.]

“Of course. Let’s go,” she replied, following the teacher toward the field.

Li Meng was also curious about Su Bai’s academic aspirations.

Since Su Bai had transferred from abroad, his educational background likely differed significantly from the local curriculum.

Mentally prepared for Su Bai to perform poorly, Li Meng intended to guide him carefully.

At the balloon release ceremony, all students would write their target universities on their balloons. This would allow Li Meng to assess Su Bai’s goals and tailor her future guidance accordingly.

As a dedicated homeroom teacher, she paid close attention to each student’s progress.

Unlike with Fang Yifan and Ji Yangyang, whose performance had necessitated repeating a grade, Li Meng felt hopeful that Su Bai could improve without taking such drastic measures.

Perhaps it was just another example of the preferential treatment afforded to a handsome student.
